Hi fellow Blues
Frequent browser, but first-time poster.
I'm interested to know what you all think about maybe giving Lukaku a week off and resting him for the Fulham game in order to keep him fresh for the Christmas run-in. Or woould you just keep playing him given that we don't really have any viable replacements?
Cheers Blues

{Ed025's Note - interesting one that BD9, i would personally start him, but if things are going well drag him off..

In the words of a certain KK, "I'd love it, just love it", if Jelavic could get a chance (probably off the bench) during the forthcoming home fixtures and score a goal or two. Lukaku is still first choice, but to have Jelavic get some form (confidence?) back would IMHO be a very nice bonus.

Personally I think it is time to rest/drop Lukaku. He is young and in all fairness he has not IMO been up to much in the last 3 games, including the Stoke game where he scored. He is first choice and a clear first choice but I think it will be good for his hunger and his drive to drop him for Fulham. Play Jelavic or Mirallas up top with DelBoy on the right if you choose that option.

{Ed025's Note - he does so much work svenny that i think he will be a big miss, teams are so wary of him that they focus on him, leaving gaps in other areas, im not saying giving him a rest would not be a good thing, just that he brings more to the table than just his scoring mate..

Cheers for thoughts guys.
Its a conversation I was having with my mate, and we had different opinions - much like the replies from you.
I'm with you Ed - play him, and hopefully we can build up a big enough lead by half time/hour mark to give him a break.
Like you say Svenny, giving Jela 45/30mins and the chance to bag a goal or 2 could re-invigorate him, and he could be like a new signing himself for the crucial Christmas fixtures.
