Although an avid reader of these pages I have not posted for a while. Although in recent weeks I have noticed an increase in negativity towards Martinez, totally unjustified in my opinion. We now have a manager with genuine belief in our club and who respects the club and its supporters and totally gets what Everton FC is.

Let's remember we are 11 games into the season and for whatever reason we are only 5 points off the top of the table. We are work in progress and I feel that we all would've settled for our current position had it been offered before a ball was kicked. I would like people to remember this should things not go our way on Saturday. Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe that we are more than capable of beating them, but derbies are a one off and can be decided either way by one error of judgement or one poor decision.

We all know that they only have a couple of players of genuine class. Perhaps an illegal substance in the pre-match carrott might help!

Whatever the result keep the faith fellow blues. {Ed025's Note - good post that mate, and nice to hear from you..

Thanks Ed, Every team has a blip during the season and I see a dip in form during which we gained a win at Villa, followed by 2 draws with clean sheets as a bonus, but some of the negativity had me looking for a length of rope and a tree. I hope like all of us that normal service will be resumed on Saturday. {Ed025's Note - its early days as you say SB, im more than happy the way things are progressing mate..

At the end of the day we are a team transitioning from one style to another, and while we are in transition there are going to be patches of blinding brilliance and likewise average performances. There's nothing too alarming yet, particularly seeing as we are just outside the European places so in reality we are ahead of schedule.
No need for the negativity yet

Couldn't agree more, Shropshire. Martinez is class in every way and we will be unrecognizably better in 12 months.
Before the Chelsea game the doom-mongers were predicting a relegation scrap. Now it's the end of November and we've lost one match playing open and progressive football and that's still not enough for some.
