I hope I don't get slated for saying this but I have a friend who is a red nose & he reckons we need to be patient with Martinez as Liverpool did exactly the same last season with their management change & change of possession style football which meant they initially drew too many of their games which they should of won after dominating the possession stakes & not converting their chances. It is only after learning to be more clinical in the final third (which involved signing the right players going forward ie- Sturridge) that they are starting to see the real fruits 1 season on, yes 1 season on lads. let's just be patient then & give Martinez a chance, there are good signs to build on & with 2 or 3 quality signings we could be purring by the end of the season. Obviously, if we finish close to the relegation places, questions will have to be asked but I really don't think that will happen - what you reckon ed?

Good post Zacki you make a lot of sense. We do need to give it time and if nothing else we are still unbeaten. The doom merchants prophecies of us leaking goals has not happened, there is work needed in the final 3rd and I for one believe it will come good, although that said I would like to see a couple of signings too and of your list McCarthy, Moses and maybe Barry as cover would do for me. With the choice of Deulofeu, Mirallas or Moses to play alongside Barkley. With a choice of Felli, Gibson, McCarthy or Barry as holding mid's we should rip teams apart. Providing of course we are allocated a few Ref's who actually know how the game works for a few matches, and that the dithering one does not manage to rip the heart out of team in the next 48 hours!

I agree tbh. This isn't exactly a new thing that has suddenly came with Martinez style of footy; we've lacked a cutting edge/predatory striker for God knows how long. We've never really been a team that shoots on site under Moyes and probably won't be under Martinez. We do need a top striker and I think that given Kone had a poor pre-season (which I'm putting down to Ramadan) we should be slightly patient with him. Jelavic looks lost out there with a touch of an elephant. I think we need to look slightly positively and take the fact that we've had two clean sheets as a positive and just be patient with Martinez

I agree we haven't won away in a long time why expect a sudden change with largely the same players.

I tend to agree but are we really playing that much different from last year, in my eyes its all the same players doing all the same things, I think were we have let ourselves down is with a striker, it was obvious last year we needed a good striker yet we bought victors dad
