I'm sorry, I'm sure I will get shot down for this, but is anyone else slightly offended at the notion of Phil Neville asking to manage our great club?

He has no managerial experience even remotely relevant for the role, but especially to take on a top 6 premier league club who are pushing for Europe every season.

Sure he has a lot of playing experience but that doesn't mean he is ready to manage Everton. And let's be honest his playing hasn't even been that great recently!

I think he's just embarrassing himself by asking.

I agree it's offensive mate he's talkin like he deserves the job would love him as a first team coach or maybe even assistant
COME ON YOU BLUE BOYS

Agreed, he needs to start in a lower league side and work his way up. Everton are a top 6 team in England, you can't just ask to be manager when you have absolutely no managerial experience

OP:

I'm never offended by people wanting to manage our great club

However and a big however at that, Phil should know that we as fans have great expectations for the future and would scrutinize to the hilt when it comes to results and performances.

If he looked at the PL and its managers with the true realistic honesty needed, he would go and learn more first!

Not offended at all. Just don't think he would have asked.

None of the backroom staff are qualified to manager a Premier League team. They need a PRO license to manage and I believe Dunc has his A license and is about to do his Pro. The others all have either B's or A licenses at most and wouldn't be allowed to manage without special dispensation

So they could call it first team coach instead
