Apparently talks have been held to bring Hakim Ziyech from Galatasaray a 31 yr old Right winger, window opens very soon now.

absolutely a big no high wages 31 years old aswell we need to start learning to recruit younger talent ie 18-23 years old that's the route and are scouts need to get off the ass and go round the world and start scouting in south america central europe not these players i certainly hope we have learnt our lesson considering are wage bill needs be brought down and also we have had a 2 point deductions due to these shenanigans.

Guarantee if our "scouts" found a 23 year old from a South American league you would get post after post saying "never heard of him, bench filler, waste of money, what are our scouts doing".

Thing is Big Reg. a lot have heard of him, was very hot and cold when was at Chelsea, lightweight In premiership. Has a touch of class and talented, but questionable attitude and work rate, 31 and big wages and not cutting it in the Turkish league.

Woudnt be suprised big reg mate in all honesty i'm hoping with new ownership that there's things in place to stop buying players over a certain age plus on a high wage with no valuation left if they moved on just costing the club money need to avoid all that an recruit for younger players even if they use club as stepping stone but give 110 percent commitment then so be it.

Guarantee if he was any good nobody would be asking that question.

I would like to think not only the fans but the club recognise a repetition of mistakes Reg. This is exactly the type of signing that got us into the mess we are in. Walcott eat your heart out.
In his 30's, high wages, has played in the CL and competing at the top end of the PL. What real hunger could he have left to want to give his all to this club.
Terrible signing across all metrics.

I never said I thought Ziyech would be a good signing I was just stating that whatever the club do now in terms of signings you will naturally get doubters. I think a balance of older and younger players is a must but just my opinion.

I'm sure i read he turned us down last season to go to Turkey and has fell out with everyone. unless are new in coming manager has told the board to get him in. because he definitely isn't a dyche type of player ?.

Some of you have no idea about health and fitness. 31 in todays environment is not even peak. Young is 39, that is increasingly becoming the new norm. 74 year olds consistently running 3 hr marathons. It is happening all around us.

Reg you will definitely get doubters if we’re buying 30+ players mate.

This is what's up with the premier league wanting big names. go and get khun from celtic lightning quick plays direct been in a winning team every week got the right mentality not on big wages.

As far as I can see, nobody mentioned fitness DFS.
Whilst I wouldn't say that Young is "the new norm". Granted, longevity is certainly a different kettle of fish these days. Whether a player can go on for longer and into their late 30's is one thing but for me, it is indisputable that a sportsman's athletic prime, certainly in the best football league in the world, is still on the other side of 30.
My main concern is a players appetite when they have fallen a few levels down the footballing pyramid. I would much rather have a young, up and comer, trying to make his name in the game, wanting to prove his worth and move on to the elite of the elite. Ziyech is not that and he certainly isn't good enough to take the risk of the high wages and the chance of the signing falling flat on it's face.
