Why are we obsessed in buying extra players for positions we don’t need? At one stage it was number 10s, then left wingers and now it seems left backs. I’m happy with Myko and Nkonku as our LBs, surely there are much more urgent areas eg striker and centre midfield to reinforce. I know it’s a loan but I still don’t get it!

We have no strength and depth. I understand the view that we need reinforcements elsewhere, but if the timing of the deal and the price are right, I don’t understand the negative response. He’s a good age, represents a move to signing players will sell on value too. Let him come, and more to follow hopefully.

Reports, if correct, suggest a loan to buy option. A sensible approach for any player if possible. If only we’d loaned half our squad before buying outright!
