Not sure if this has been asked, but can any of the Ed's tell how do clubs and agents come up with a valuation for a player.

{Ed002's Note - The selling club will identify a price they would like for a player and tell agents, and other clubs who ask about players.}

Thanks, so is it a case off, we value player X at this price or is there a formula that is used by all clubs.

{Ed002's Note - There is no formula.}

A player is only worth what clubs a willing to pay for him.

Dollo I believe when clubs know we’re interested they double the price they would be happy with and add another couple of million on for good measure.

I think Newcastle might experience something similar Dan. The problem we’ve faced is Moshiri’s inability to walk away from a deal when he (or his ‘advisor’) wants a player. Clubs know they can up the price. I don’t blame them, we would do the same if we could.

Didn’t happen with Pope and Burnley.

If Levy was selling Richarlison to us he would want 70m, and we would probably pay it.
We are to weak when it comes to transfers both in and out.

Brass - Hopefully that changes with Thelwell.
Agree previously we’ve done some terrible business and our negotiating on fees seems none existent.
