Hi just wondering on peoples thoughts on Ben Godfrey playing in the Allan role ofva holding midfielder.
He's quick, aggressive in the tackle, good positional sense and comfortable carrying the ball forward with pace. I may be way off with my thinking but we may already have a ready made replacement for Allan without forking out a small fortune.

Might be an option, however think Holgate would be a better option in that position of the 2.

However hope we actually buy a player in that position - for too long we’ve been trying to put square pegs in round holes.

His positional sense is not great and surely we want a 6 who can spray passes around not one who maraudes forward leaving the back 4 exposed?

Yep Holgate more suited to that role. Holgate better in front of a back 4 than in a back 4 is my opinion.

Not sure why so many want Holgate to go?

Think he’s improved under Lampard and I personally would happily keep him.

There are far more players in our squad I’d want to see gone before we moved Holgate on.
