Steve Hitchen from Spurs being lined up as our new DOF apparently.

The bloke did a good job at spuds and continues to do on the evidence. Why would he come to us?

{Ed025's Note - because he is out of work and we pay well?..

Said he left because of lack of involvement in transfers since the Italian came in.

Think Mr Moshiri needs someone like Hitchen to advise him instead of Usmanov and Kia, looks like he is the real deal.

Spurs fans seem really glad he’s gone.

{Ed025's Note - his time there was up swan, he had gone stale and its best for both him and spurs to part their ways, are we taking a chance?..of course we are, but we are in a precarious position and if dele can help us survive then its all worth it..

What's Dele got to do with it?

Did he not work for them lot? Sure he was the guy who signed suarez.

If he's good at what he does, fine by me but you know how some people are about ex-red employees.

I'm hugely optimistic with the whole new management team and rumours of cahill coming in and this Hitchin guy. But, alli could be a master stroke.

I’m talking about the “director of football” type guy who just left Spurs Ed.

{Ed025's Note - yeah swan my bad mate, i had been on another thread about dele and got distracted, sorry mate..

Is he the guy? Of course money is a factor, but do we want someone who’s ‘gone stale’. Spurs have not recruited successfully over the last few seasons - they have failed to find back up for key players and have signed expensive flops like Doherty, Gil and Lo Celso. We do that already!

Thank god it was a football related thread you were on Ed.

{Ed025's Note - i know mate..

I forgive you Ed. Just don’t let it happen again ;)

{Ed025's Note - very magnanimous of you mate.. :)

I think we have done our best transfer buisness, without a d. o. f to be honest.

As long as it doesn’t turn into another Steve Walsh… when I read the Guardian article on him leaving Spurs, it rang a few alarm bells (/ started to remind me of when we appointed Walsh) . We can’t go through another cycle of buying in players with inflated wages and egos.
