Talks of lampard now. Young hungry. Will use youth if needed. Also no fee being spent to another club. Could be a decent shout.

I would take lamps. Did well with his last two teams. He needs a club like us to get him where he wants to be. Do well for us and get noted.

Hopefully we offer short term contract as in 1 year.

{Ed025's Note - the contracts i would have on our players has nothing to do with football tallaght mate..

Lampard is not a good manager.

I don't rate Lampard at all - spent a lot of money and called in all his Chelsea contacts to take Derby from seventh to seventh. Did well for one season when he had difficult circumstances imposed on him at Chelsea, but, when given the scope to actually build something, didn't do it.

I think a Lampard appointment would stink of us not learning our lessons - There needs to be a settled and realistic plan put in place that allows for steady, gradual progress over the next ten years. A "name" with very little coaching or managerial experience does not lend itself to that.

I'm definitely not anti young coaches, if it's coaching ability that we're looking at, not how many thirty-yard screamers someone scored back in their playing days. I don't imagine it's a particularly popular opinion, but I don't think Simon Jordan was too far wrong when he suggested Cooper from Nottingham Forest.

Rooney would be better than lampard, if we are going down the younger road.

{Ed025's Note - really charlie?, lack of morals and generally being a scum bag would rule him out for me mate..

Hopefully will stand up and not be a yes man like the rest.

Half my family are Derby fans and they loved Lampard, as did the players. Got them playing some great football.

As ed002 said. Rooney is a dim wit.

But maybe that’s his level JB? Who knows mate.

Could be. Who knows? Also qualified Chelsea for the champions league without making a transfer and brought through Mount, James and Hudson-Odoi.

Can imagine the press having an interview with rooney and the question states how does it feel to become the new everton manager to rooneys reply errmmm great player but just think he's not ready same with lampard but that's my opinion.

Lampard is a good talker but whether that makes him a good manager?

Neither of them.

Let Rooney cut his teeth at Utd and then come to us if he’s any good….

{Ed025's Note - you mean that player who kissed the united badge in front of the goodison faithful, and celebrated scoring in front of us as though he had just won the champions league?...once a blue always a blue...my arse..

And all our arses would be blue dangling in the wind with Mr Rooney at the Club. Lampard not so much but we would have his wudeboy Uncle to deal with. ?.
