Digne confirming what we knew already - he’s been forced out of the club he loves by ‘an outsider’. Good luck to the lad, seems like he had little choice. What has happened to our great club?

Thank you for 3 1/ 2 years in Blue ?
From Day One the Evertonians have received me with a lot of warm feelings, and I am forever thankful for that.
I have loved to be a part of the Everton family.
I have always worked hard to give back to the fans on and off the pitch.
I have loved the unity of fans and players.
Not only Goodison on a match day but also in everyday life.

Only one year ago I signed a new contract with the ambition of staying in this club for a long time, giving everything for my club, for the development and project, that I believed in - and for the passionate fans.
My dream was helping the club back where it belongs.
Wearing the captain’s armband in some matches always made me proud.

Everything must come to an end.
I just did not expect it to end this way.

What has happened and some things that was said about me in the last month has made me very sad.
But I will not enter a war on words with anyone.

The club don’t deserve that, the fans don’t deserve that - and to be honest, I don’t feel that I deserve that.
There are so many good and decent people in and around Everton who want to the best for this club and not only for themself - and to them i can only say from my heart: I wish you the best!

Thank you, to all you wonderful, proud and passionate true Evertonians.
It has been a an honour and a true pleasure to play for you, the fans, the people - because a club do not belong to a player or a manager, but to the fans.
I will always carry you with me in my heart wherever I go.
Sometimes it only takes one person from outside to destroy a beautiful love affair.
All the best to @everton and Evertonians ?.

Exactly what I said earlier 'jumped or pushed'. Having now read up on Rafa recent outings, seems to be his modus operandi along with everyone elses fault except mine rhetoric. Getting a bit worried now
games in hand 100 percent need to be capitalised.

One of the few genuine world class players we’ve had over the last decade. What a shame.

So what do we think of this Ed, doesn't read like a lad that wanted out!

{Ed025's Note - its a good parting shot by lucas DFS, its only one side of the story of course and i doubt we will get rafa,s side anytime soon so i really dont know who is to blame...answers on a postcard..

Disgusting it's going to take 10years to recover from this season and the fallout.

{Ed025's Note - dont get embroiled in a one sided argument and a twitter feed cookie, we dont know the full story and probably never will mate..

I have always been for Rafa Ed, based on his tactical reputation mainly. As the days go on though, it seems we are dealing with a person that denies all personal responsibility for footballing failure but accepts for success. Even taking into account injuries, some of his decisions have been baffling! (Bad enough watching on TV but even more so in the ground) . Away at Norwich is crucial for me, a win essential, a draw let's hear the excuses, a loss, there are none.

{Ed025's Note - im on the fence DFS but it is what it is, as you say the norwich and then the newcastle games are crucial, we need 4 points from these games but im not holding my breath mate..

It's Rafa. Wherever he has been he has caused problems with players. even at Liverpool! Just get the impression that if you disagree with him, that's it, you're off . Alonso fell out with him at Liverpool and left. I do worry about Richarlison for this reason!

I was happy 2 give Rafa a chance but after the Brighton game I want him gone and that’s not just me I large section of where I sit feel the same he is a disease that needs cutting out doubt he will ever b accepted it’s like he pulls balls out of a hat when picking the team.

Common thread is what has come out from the club on social media. Over years plentiful of messages supported the managers from playing staff. The clubs PR machine was quick to fill us with these articles about how players love Ancelotti, Allyardce, Koemans and Martinez. This has dried up. I suspect no one is happy and all are looking at there options.

Sell one of the best left backs in the Prem, and bring in someone you have never heard of from a crap league. But hey he's young so that's ok.

Whichever side you believe, whether Digne was sulking, not trying, wanted out, etc or whether he was forced out because the boss didn't like him, surely it is a managers job to. "manage" the situation so it doesn't get out of hand and blow up in his face like this?

25 million (in these times) for a left back that’s been poor for a long time now is great business.

If he loved the fans and club as much as he professed in his parting statement, then why didn't he stay and fight for his place? The managers job is far from stable, he could have just bided his time.

Probably didn’t fancy waiting 2 seasons for Rafa to be sacked before he played again.

Quote a low bar if you think he world class.

Quality player don't get me wrong but he's no Ashley Cole, Robertson, Carlos.

He can't get in the French team ahead of theo hernandez of Milan.

The path ahead just got even rockier with this Instagram post.

I'm not siding with either party in this argument but the manager makes the decisions and he'll live or die by his action.

I'm all for giving him at least til the end of the season to see if results improve but I feel lots of fans already going to force him out for a banner on a plane.
