On one hand Iâ€™m wondering if a younger manager is the way forward, you only have to look at the ages of the top managers. On the other hand though, Iâ€™d be quite pleased if Benitez joins, heâ€™s experience and know how.

{Ed025's Note - he does know the league well dave and would not be a bad choice imo, some cant get past the "small club" jibe though mate..

If our next manager is successful, he couldâ€™ve called us a tiny club in the past, said our fans are the quietest in the league and that Dudek was better than Southall for all I care. So long as heâ€™s good.

Yeah I agree we heâ€™s 100% a good manager but as soon as things start to get a bit bumpy the fans will turn quicker than normal because of his liverpoo time and past comments about the club. The thing with the manager search we have got a style of play at the minute so there is no manager that currently would be the perfect fit for this team. It will take any manager time to build a squad for the the style that brands is going to set out and stick to it.

Itâ€™s worth pondering with Benitez. Is he the sort who would think for Â£Xm itâ€™s worth a go and if Iâ€™m unsuccessful so he if or will he be aiming to lift trophies again. I think the latter and just imagine the enjoyment if he manages a team that wins, for starters, the derby. As Ed said he knows premiership football and he wasnâ€™t the first to be negative about a team of player and he wonâ€™t be the last.
