Sounds good to me ST, as it could give his head space to naturally develop his game without having the 'local boy' tag weighing round his neck .
Flipside to that is it may prove what some are thinking i. e. championship level at most!

He hasn't developed his game just my opinion but he doesn't add nothing to the team just an average midfielder.

He was awful when he came on. Headless chicken. One nice bit of control but liability and definitely not our or premier league level. A loan to buy deal would be best as I'd doubt we will have anyone happy to buy upfront.
Doubt he's worth 12 to be honest.
Lower YO YO championship / league 1 level. Must go.
