Thanks Ed but as he's out of contract in a year would they be entitled to money? Really hope its permanent as if he has a great season he could walk away to another team after proving himself with us.

Wasn't that the same arrangement we had when we signed Gareth Barry? If i remember right people couldn't understand why we paid a fee when his contract expired. I'm happy with it, if we only get a loan there will be a lot more competition to sign him when his contract expires.
