Ed002, Several media sources claiming Southampton have accepted £25 million for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. is this true?

{Ed002's Note - Everton have made a bid but I am not sure of the value or structure of it. Southampton have accepted it and it now waits to be seen what other offers are made - Spurs are looking to include a player in the deal - which in this case suits them.}

What do you make of PEH as a player Ed? Will he help change the way the Everton side plays. if he signs of course.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what he will bring.}

Hes an improvement on what we have, which isn't hard if we are being honest.
Ye there are better players about, but are these players going to want to come to everton, apart from ancelotti we are not too appealing at the minute.
If we got him and a good right winger I would be happy.

Seems an awful lot of money for a player going into his last 12 months of his contract.
I thought the C.V. was going to see a reduction in prices - I personally think this is crazy money for him.

I agree Dan, don't really rate him thst highly from what I've seen, but he's, better than what we hsve. but I remember thinking the same when we signed gueye, but gueye was 7 million, and I was massively wrong.
I'm my opinion gueye was one of our best signings in many years. Would kill to have him back.

Was thinking the same yesterday. there must be DMs across Europe that we’ve scouted that could do the job of Holberg for less than 25 mill and his hefty wage on top of that. My worry would be that we’re picking up another Schneiderlin!

Well if Mourinho and Ancelotti want him He must be decent and I’m willing to accept they know more than I do.

Are we just writing Gamin off then?

You speak my thoughts JBT. I think we have already proved paying a premium for average players doesn't pay off. Personally I hope spurs get him.

I know we desperately need a CM, I'm worried we get another lazy player just here for the money. Getting a solid CM is our biggest priority and it needs to be the right player with the right attitude. I looked online last night and Gbamin looks as if he will be out until 2021.

Being reported he visited Finch Farm yesterday and has agreed personal terms. Hojbjerg has won possession in the middle third more times than any other player in the Premier League this season (181) .

Everything I read on him says he wants Spurs move. This could go on and on and we then lose out. Move on I say and find a target that wants to play for us.

I find it a little underwhelming to move for Hojbjerg after the constant links to Allan and Matias Vecino.

That being said, Hojbjerg is younger with resale value if needed, and the bigger point - what do i know compared to experts! If i knew better I'd be working at Everton so i will keep my fingers crossed he is a success.

Drive the fee up for Spurs and old Scrooge Levy!
On another note, often clubs have 2nd 3rd and 4th targets, do any of the Ed’s know if we have other options? Over the last year names like Soumare Sanson and Rabiot have been thrown out by the press, any other options you know of? 🙏.

Rumours now we might withdraw the bid as he is holding out for spurs sounds like sissoko part 2 to me I would withdraw the bid and let spurs have a free run at him.
