I think if we were going to get Zouma it would have happened. He would have pushed for the move like Gomes has and Lookman has. He ain't coming.

Its really poor from the club that we have no other options, it was obvious about 3 weeks ago that he wasnt coming. i'm starting to think it doesn't matter who we have in charge of transfers, how can the club look at the squad and think this is ok?

DGold1878 so I presume you're in the know and that we aren't currently in talks for another option? If we haven't brought anyone in by 8th August fine slate the club. If we had signed a centre half the day the window opened everyone would have been moaning that we didn't try everything to get Zouma. As a fan base we are so quick to be negative, some of the comments after last night's pre season friendly were utterly embarrassing.

I never made any comments about the friendly, we going to have a CB come in who is going to have no preseason with us, and if we had been out scouting other options, why does the club think it is ok to leave the manager in this position. Zouma was great last year but it took him a while to settle down, because we brought him in last minute. It looks like something similar is happening this year. Hence, its the same story year after year with us.

You could point that finger at every club except Villa who have done a Fulham. No one has done mega business.

Give it time. If we've learnt anything in being Evertonians it's that patience is a must in every transfer window.

I just think bring Mina and Zouma in late contributed to our first half of the season being worse than our second. i think if tbe FA ban Mina over this betting thing, and we bring a CB in on the last day, it will cause a similar issue to last year, even Gomes took while to acclimatise after being signed on deadline day. I was unfair before on Brands but as a club, we seem to be in this situation far more often than not.

You not think that is often the players fault DGold1878? They will be waiting for other / better options.
You not think Marco would want them in for a full pre season if he could?
But short of paying ridiculous money - we been there before, or holding a gun to the players head, there is not much the club can do save continue to negotiate.

There will be other options as opposed to Kurt. We had to wait until Chelsea decided re him and that issue was complicated further by their Transfer ban and efforts to overturn.
But stop being so negative and thinking it must be Everton’s fault.
