Anything on your end Ed of our reported bid of £36 million for Maxi Gomez of Celta Vigo?

{Ed002's Note - Maxi Gomez (S) The player has made it clear his preference is to stay in Spain and Valencia want to take him. Their issue is the finances and even though a way has been found to fund the transfer (by a little horse trading), Valencia cannot match or get close to what West Ham are prepared to pay the player in terms of wages. The value of the deal being demanded is €50M either in cash from West Ham or in players and money over a longer period from Valencia. The player has made it clear that the Valencia project (including Champions League) is attractive, the Spanish life style and language suits him - so the expectation is a deal will be done with Valencia. The con to all of this is the carcass of an agent with excessive demands - which WHU will be able to address. Interest from Barcelona and Spurs has gone. As for Everton, I cannot see they can offer anything better than West Ham and I am not aware of any bid being made by Everton.}

Thanks Ed, very informative. It was actually a Spanish journalist from Valencia named Julio Insa that broke the story of a reported bid of £36 million from EFC. Most likely a probe to try and hurry negotiations with Valencia.

My hopes for this window are
Leao from Lillie
Zouma or Davison Sanchez from spurs
Malcom loan from Barcelona
Max Aaron’s right back from Norwich
Sangare from Toulouse if Gueye is to move

Move on

Lookman hasn’t had many chances and beat move on to progress his career

Tosun not silvas buy but still hasn’t had chances and doesn’t look like he suits our current style

Theo Walcott hard work down quite well last season ageing now and been in the game along time needs
To be playing regularly at this stage of his career

Schneiderlin big wages and only a back up Dave the club money

McCarthy move on for his own career but could do a job as back up

Niasse hast has a future at the club for a while

I would also move Pickford on if he’s looking to make the next step in his career as Ed002 has mentioned if you Get the right money and have a suitable replacement lined up. You can’t hold it against him if he wants to play in the CL etc. We replace players to make the next step
Up Ourselves.

If you want to develop as a team then you don’t sell your best players. And Pickford is one of them.

{Ed002's Note - Players are simply transient employees of the club. If a player wants to leave the club should look to keep the players happy.}

I agree about Pickford, its time for him to move on, just hope we have got someone lined up, with Joao Virginia supposedly going on loan, it would leave us with just Lossl and Stekelenburg. do u know if we have enquired about any replacements for him ed002? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Everton will sit down with him on his return and decisions will be made then.}

Sounds like the Maxi gomes is a no starter.
If west ham do get him it sounds like he may have settling in issues if he prefers the Spanish way of life and language.
Surprised West ham have interest considering they have had their fingers burnt in the past.
