Everton have tonight reportedly pulled out of the race to sign goalkeeper Joe Hart. efc deemed his £7million a year wages as too high and with the excellent form of Stekelberg thus far, Hart is no longer on Koemans wishlist. Other reports from France tonight indicate that Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal has informed Everton of his desire to stay in France as he wants to be playing regular European football - so won't be joking Everton either. not a particularly good day on the transfer front then, but hopefully some good news soon elsewhere.

I think the £7million was just the loan fee Soli, which if true is a huge fee just t loan a player. Not surprised that got knocked back.

Joe Hart's situation will change dramatically the closer we get to the 1st Sept, would not be surprised if he came in the last minutes of the window.

His reported wages are £135k so that is £7m a year plus whatever loan fee
I agree Murf Hart's situation will change if he doesn't get a move and a move to a club which keeps him near the top, he won't want this to cost him his England number 1 jersey!

The 7m included what he is paid per week, 135k apparently, Toffee ace. Bit steep for a year, wouldn't be worth loaning if we still had to pay around 20m to sign permanently. Not too sure this is dead in the water just yet though, doesn't seem to be many offers on the table if the press are to be believed. As Murf says, this will possibly drag on until the window is closed.

That is too much for a goal keeper especially for one who is not wanted at his club. Its reported he is on £120k per week and his contract expires 2018-2019 season. Not a bad wage for getting splinters.

My feeling is it's a tactic by city to make sure any transfer is a permanent one rather than a loan I think they know they are asking way too much, It's the same as we did with Lukaku slap 75 mil asking price hoping no one wants to pay it and we get what we want, we keep Lukaku. City are probably hoping we come back with a purchase offer instead of a loan offer.

It's even better if Everton go for Butland, then Stoke go for Hart.

{Ed002's Note - Not going to happen.}
