check this out.

that Jermain Defoe will sign for Toronto FC on Monday. Reports in Canada claim that Toronto are paying Tottenham around £6million for Defoe, who current deal had 18-months left to run and it is being reported that along with Defoe - Toronto are putting the finishing touches to a deal to sign US international midfield star Michael Bradley from Italian side Roma. The total cost of both deals would be in excess of $100million and would represent two of the biggest transfers ever seen in MLS.

That's the combined total of their transfer fees and the sum total of their wages for their entire contracts. Chances are they only payed about £3m for Bradley, but will be paying both he and Defoe £90-100k a week which over the course of their 3/4 year contracts will all add up. They're not paying £80m for Bradley. It's like when they say that the Bale transfer is worth €200m. The fee was €100m and over the course of his 5 year contract, he'll be payed €100m, so overall, it cost will cost Real €200m.

Aghhhh! Does anyone else wish we were getting Bradley?! He plays Defensive Mid and CM. Just the cover we need. And when I see him play for the USA he is relentless. Maybe I'm just being a biased yank.
