Hi ed02 hope you are well and had nice Christmas and New year. With danjuma potentially going do you expect Everton to replace him with another loan?

{Ed002's Note - I would think making more use of Lewis Dubbin would be the more sensible approach.}

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jan 2024 09:15:27
Ed, more sensible for Financial reasons?

surely not sensible footballing reasons seeing as Dobbin is nowhere near the level.

{Ed002's Note - Everton are in a terrible situation financially - they need to make use of the resources they have.}

12 Jan 2024 09:21:40
I would think Danjuma would be used to replace McNeil until fit and Dobbin used more from the bench. I can't see Everton letting Danjuma go as it would be very difficult to replace him in our current situation.

{Ed002's Note - He wants to go. His time is being wasted at Everton.}

12 Jan 2024 12:38:59
I agree with Ed002, Dobbin looked good the last time he played and scored which is rare for us. Give him a chance, he is your and faster than many we have.

13 Jan 2024 14:06:29
If he wants to use his time better, he should play better when he’s picked and he’d be in the team more often. If Dyche doesn’t fancy him, we may as well get rid.

11 Jan 2024 09:29:20
Ed002 - lots of talk about clubs being interested in Branthwaite. Can you confirm if there is genuine interest in him, and if so, who from?

I have searched but can't find anything directly about him from you.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Jarrad Branthwaite (CB) Everton want a new contract but Spurs, Manchester United and Newcastle have an interest. Ancelotti has spoken to Solari about him and scouts were sent to watch him against Newcastle, but Solari is not convinced that English players settle well on the continent. Manchester United will likely need a complte rebuild at CB with four CBs likely to leave in the summer. Spurs have a need for two but have already agreed a move for one. Newcastle has a compelling need to add one or two younger CBs.}

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2024 10:06:58
Ed002,

Didn't Jarrad sign a new contract only a few months ago with no release clauses? so hopefully if needs be and we do sell then we could command a decent fee.

{Ed002's Note - Yes he signed a new contract but the financial situation at Everon is truy diore - the club has a huge problem.}

11 Jan 2024 18:54:58
Ed002 realistically do you see Everton sorting this dire financial issue without the club going into administration (if so how? ) or is the problem just doing to get worse and administration something that is inevitable?

{Ed002's Note - The takeover needs to happen.}

11 Jan 2024 21:47:07
Any idea what is holding the PL up with its checks or why it is taking so long? I’m sure some on here would suggest it’s the PL trying to make us go into administration but that would sound ridiculous.

{Ed002's Note - There is no hold up. It takes time.}

11 Jan 2024 22:35:40
Ed how does a takeover help? I have no idea regarding FFP, but though our issue is that we have massively overspent and our outgoings are much higher than our incomings?
Am I right in saying that new owners cannot directly invest to help reduce FFP strain? So where does the benefit come from new owners?
Apologies if you have already explained this but had a search and couldn’t find anything. Appreciate it may be a little too complex to explain quickly on here!

{Ed002's Note - There is no point in my trying to explain the FFP but at the moment Everton cannot pay the wages of the players and are borrowing the money each month. The issue the club has is the turnover to wage ratio which I have explained before.}

11 Jan 2024 23:15:51
Excuse my ignorance but how will the takeover help improve the dire financial mess we are in? .

Is it that there will then be somebody at the helm who can make decisions regarding the running of the club and ultimately the sale of players to generate revenue?

I’d imagine whilst we’re up for sale our hands are somewhat tied in respect to player sales as any players that could generate a decent profit being sold would potentially help with balancing the books would potentially make us a less attractive option to purchase and potentially devalue the club?

Not sure any prospective purchaser in this case 777 would be happy if we sold the likes of branthwaite and/ or Onana before they got in.

{Ed002's Note - I excuse your ignorance.}

12 Jan 2024 18:32:00
Granted I/ we/ some are ignorant of FFP but if Everton as a business are in debt and if the rich owner wished to pay it off, what stops him?

13 Jan 2024 08:05:45
My word, borrowing money to pay wages! I had no idea how bad it was. How on earth can we expect not to go into administration? Another points deduction, relegation. It’s bleak very bleak.

13 Jan 2024 12:50:52
Swinners its basically because Moshiri has lost all interest and no longer pumps any money in so while the due process takes place 777 are plugging the gap to keep the club running. we have to hope the takeover happens soon so we can move away from the mess Moshiri has created at the club.

08 Jan 2024 18:24:15
If the rumours about Onana to Arsenal and others are legitimate and we let him go for 50/ 60 million it would be yet more poor business from ourselves.

Every other club seems to push for ridiculous fees. One that sticks out recently are Cucurella for around the 60 mark.

Ed's correct me if I am wrong but I am sure Lille have a very healthy sell-on clause on Onana, which would drag the fee down even more.

We should be pushing for as much as we can and going after young Wharton from Rovers. Whllst he can win the ball back in the middle, he is a different player to Onana and has more ability on the ball with his passes, more often than not, being able to play forward and through the lines.

{Ed002's Note - Lille will get 20% of any profit. Everton are screwed financially already.}

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2024 21:34:44
Is it possible for us to ever get out the financial mess we are in and or run at a profit.

09 Jan 2024 09:46:20
For Clubs (Media) to say they are in talks with Onana (agent (s) ) , surely he is under contract and would need Evertons' permission. As for we should be insisting on a higher fee. As Ed says, we have already lost a paddle and really need to do all we can to keep the boat upright.

09 Jan 2024 11:37:13
I'm sure that all our players agents are informed to "sell sell sell" no fear of tapping up at our gaff, it's a flea market.

09 Jan 2024 13:51:14
See the flat earth believers are out in force.

09 Jan 2024 21:17:22
Thanks for all the replies but that was a question for ed02.

{Ed025's Note - if you had said that in your post i would have forwarded it to him mate..

09 Jan 2024 21:35:34
I know it's called old age,
Probably a good that you never asked him, as he doesn't seem to have much good news for us lately ?.

{Ed025's Note - i know it only too well mate..

10 Jan 2024 12:43:07
El Bobble said yesterday that no discussions have taken place regards Onana and it will have to be too good and offer to refuse to let him leave. As for financially screwed, that's only if the takeover does not happen.

08 Jan 2024 18:03:53
Onana being linked with a move away.

Hannibal from Utd on loan been linked

Edd002 any potential replacements Everton have in mind for Onana.

{Ed002's Note - Everton have huge financial issues and Onana is very saleable - they woul like to add Emiliano Martinez of Midtjylland but I rather doubt they would be able to get a Work Permit. Hannibal would not be a replacement. Garner would with a bit of a MF shuffle see out the season.}

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2024 11:07:00
Unfortunately Branthwaite is also a big asset with a big transfer fee possible, with everyone from Real Madrid to man city rumoured to be lurking, I'd rather see Onana go, but our status in the ffp is looking dire, we might end up selling both sooner than anticipated!

10 Jan 2024 14:24:08
Ed002 what teams are interested in Onana and will any pay enough this window?

{Ed002's Note - Amadou Onana (DM/CB/CM) Only moved to Everton in 2022 and they are not looking to sell him. West Ham interest has moved on but Arsenal may look again after failing to agree alternatives. Newcastle spoke with Everton in the summer but have now identified another player as their primary DM/CM target. Manchester United had him a long way down their list of targets but failed to sign preferred options in the summer and he may still be of interest, but I rather doubt it. Arsenal will look to perhaps early agreement for a move for the summer.}

22 Jan 2024 19:58:42
Ed002 going to start this with "I don't understand ffp! "/ just kidding (For the record I don't know anything about ffp and have no desire to learn)
Can you offer any: Ray of sunshine/ glimmer of positivity/ hope springs eternal etc etc?!

{Ed002's Note - Nothing new right now.}

02 Jan 2024 12:05:39
Talk of Jesse Lingard coming in as freebie.

{Ed002's Note - Jesse Lingard (CM/AM) Free Agent and of little interest to Premier League sides. Options potentially in the Middle East and the player wants the MLS. Offered to Lille and Marseille - but a move to France is fraught with non-European issues.}

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jan 2024 13:14:21
Did well at Wham and made me slightly gutted we didn't win that race. No show at Forest. Was it an attitude problem or was he not deemed good enough? Seemed a big drop off either way from the season before being one of Whams best players. Can't be any worse than Danhoofer or can he? These seem to be the type of deals we are shopping at these days. Creative punts with minimal outlay and short contracts.

02 Jan 2024 13:40:42
Didn't know that FBS. I know they won the xmas chart race.

02 Jan 2024 16:50:13
Back up for Doucoure by the looks.

02 Jan 2024 18:24:57
Could have done with him Last Christmas ?.

{Ed025's Note - love it Woburn..

03 Jan 2024 13:51:28
Any thing lingard did was 3 years ago, since then he has done nothing, 31 and hasn't played regularly for how long now, another deli, plus I've also read we are not intrested, we have an intrest in bownhil but that's also as a loan, but would see Burnley slowing it unless we would pay a sell on fee after his contract runs out this season.

04 Jan 2024 12:46:16
Its just "careless whispers" from "bad boys", just "wake me up before they go go"

04 Jan 2024 14:19:59
Ignoring the terrible jokes above, we aren't going to sign someone with ridiculous wage demands who wouldn't be match fit til April.

05 Jan 2024 08:39:05
Actually Yorkshire Toffee that sounds exactly like something Everton would do lol.

08 Jan 2024 16:26:15
Rather have Jessie from toy story.

02 Jan 2024 12:23:02
Jesse Lingard being linked again hmmmm.

01 Jan 2024 10:07:30
Happy New Year everyone. Tricky month ahead but keep the faith its going to be ok. Talk of Danjuma going to Lyon as not getting enough game time?

{Ed002's Note - Arnaut Danjuma (W) His agent and Villareal want him out of his loan at Everton early with Lyon talking to his club.}

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jan 2024 11:51:13
Yep ditto that, hope we hear soon re our appeal need that out out the way as soon as.

01 Jan 2024 13:56:37
All this rumour of us getting this lad or that lad is just that. Loans (on small wages) and freebies is just that. Everton are still in deep brown stuff and my opinion will need to sell a couple of players of value.

01 Jan 2024 15:31:57
Yeah but the bad news Holgate could be on his way back.

01 Jan 2024 16:14:34
Well if were not going to play him then let him go, and try and loan a player who will play.

02 Jan 2024 09:57:01
He hasn't been disappointing rather than having a bit of a shocker. He is full of running and flatters to deceive but just has no end product. He seems to want to smash every cross or shot as hard as possible. He seems to have all the ingredients but clearly this seems a level too far. France would suit him. Definitely time to end loan and to replace with someone else. Who? Got a feeling us and Palace will be resting players and we could somehow end up going through or worse a replay (do they still do replays in FA Cup? ) Neither club could do with a batch of cup games for a tournament neither can ultimately win. Best to get knocked out as our squad can't handle the games.

02 Jan 2024 09:59:31
Swap him, yes I know probably get a bag of spuds for him.

02 Jan 2024 13:25:08
Close glt59 might be Lingard?.

31 Dec 2023 16:09:31
Ed do we have a interest in Alex Robertson Man City midfielder on loan at Portsmouth.

{Ed002's Note - Alex Robertson (AM/CM) Has had a very good season on loan so far at Portsmouth and, if promoted, have a tentative agreement to keep him for another season at Fratton Park. Everton and Celtic have sent scouts to watch him but a move is unlikely.}

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2023 17:08:12
Benfica looking to sign Gomes.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Dec 2023 22:55:42
His deal ends in summer so they'll get a freebie.

26 Dec 2023 13:38:38
Ed002 hope your well. what's our january going to look like. Will web actively pursuing some players or if any outgoings happen be reactive to that.

{Ed002's Note - I would not have high expectations of significant additions with Everton having to clean up the financial mess they are in. They need to reduce the wage bill further and utilise the cheaper or free options available to them and utilise youngsters where they can. There will also be a need for the sale of players liked by the fans, such as Branthwaite. Leicester, Burnley and Leeds are open to negotiation a soultion to the concerns Everton have about being forced in to Administration which would see a further points deduction and financial constraints which could strangle the club. So a negotiated solution makes sense - but it could hit the club very hard.
Everton have another eight players who are out of contract in the summer - Harrison (who will return to Leeds), Lonegan, Young, Coleman, Gueye, Dele Alli, Gomes and Danjuma (who will return to Villareal). They have a huge issue with respect to Dele Alli which needs to be fixed somehow. There are another seven players who will be entering the last year of their contracts. Selling Onana would help them out as any loans or sale of part of the club would only help with the stadium they cannot now afford.}

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2023 13:48:12
Ed on the deal with Leeds and Leicester surely only one club can ask us for comp as if we got relegated only one of them could be stayed up?

{Ed002's Note - No. It is not just relegation, it is loss of income. Leeds will perhaps step back.}

26 Dec 2023 13:55:14
I see. Hopefully we sale high make a profit and re invest in some youth and pay the debts.

{Ed002's Note - The best way forward Eddy.}

26 Dec 2023 14:10:38
Hopefully look at Birminghams Jordan James. We’ve been linked with Sam tickle from Wigan and a left back from gent.

26 Dec 2023 15:35:30
In the bleak midwinter, we can’t afford our ground,
Moshiri ruined our finances, they’re no longer sound

Dough had fallen, dough and dough,
Dough and dough and dough

In the bleak midwinter, our best players will have to go…

———

Cheers for the reality check Ed2. Administration is a big fear and more realistic than I had previously thought.

Can we survive without Onana, possibly (if Gomez can cut it) . Can we survive Branthwaite going? I don’t think so. Could we sell anyone else?

Christ knows what will happen with Dele Alli. What are our options Ed?

26 Dec 2023 16:47:38
Adam Wharton, 19 midfielder at Blackburn meant to be very good.

Agree we need to sell big where possible and invest in freebies and youth.

I like DCL but we could get some decent money still and having Beto helps softenthe sale, I'd sell him and Onana. Try keep Branthwaite as long as possible because he is class.
Play Dele for 6 games
I'd also have Barkley back, looking very fit and playing very good attacking, skillful football again.
Does anyone know how our young players out on loan are doing?

26 Dec 2023 19:33:24
I have no clue how the whole issue with the leeds, foxes situation works but my pennys worth is this. It would be very hard to prove we had an on field advantage such that would have kept us up over them. 19.5m what would they attribute that to that kept us up. Regardless of that we did break the rules but they got them selves in a position to be relegates by them selves as we did. Sueing us is never going to happen because if they won that would open a whole new world of law suits across the football world. I just dnt see a big payout to them at all.
Like i said i have no idea how it works i am prob well off the mark. Its just what i feel.

26 Dec 2023 20:48:15
Perhaps we should just wait and see what the result of our appeal is first. Before we decide to sell our best players and make fictitious payments to other clubs.

26 Dec 2023 20:54:11
Ed 2 Yes it maybe a loss of income. But we can only be relegated once every year. Therefore only one club 18th placed (9th and 20th went down on own merit) has any right to possible compensation.

26 Dec 2023 21:04:55
Obviously 19th + 20th.

26 Dec 2023 22:36:35
Absolutely, really don't get Leeds or the others, only Leicester and Burnley have any justification imo, both finishing 18th in the 2 years it took for action against us to be taken, and how is it our fault the premier League took this long, surely they should be suing the premier league as well?

Just imagine when City finally get their belated PTS dock, that means all teams in premiership since 2008 can sue them due to lost of earnings, league positions, sponsorship etc etc. Be barmy if happened but the way football is and the way the premier League and our club is ran wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

27 Dec 2023 11:02:25
Tell them all to fek off.

27 Dec 2023 11:52:08
We are not going into administration

The clubs can not sure Everton as no sporting advantage was gained while at the same time 3 separate accountants and the premier Leagues accountants all signed off our books and we only failed P&S because the premier league changed the rules as they needed someone to throw to the wolves as they were up in front of the select committee (I'm not saying our accounts are great but at least say it how it is)

Jack Harrison wants to stay at Everton (why wouldn't he)

And we won't be selling Branthwaite in January and I will be very surprised if we sell Onana (one will prob go in the summer with Onana being the more likely)

31 Dec 2023 04:25:52
Dont see how we can spend anything til the takeover situations are resolved. However, Leicester and the others have zero legal basis for any claim, administration is doubtful but still possible though. My main concern is the issue with finishing the stadium.

26 Dec 2023 12:22:54
Everton looking at Sam tickle wigans No1.
