Without getting brandished negative, I hope the 30m quoted for Bolasie is paper talk. Worth approx 10-15m in these inflated prices if you ask me. Like I've previously said, I don't expect the 'Marquee' signings this season, based on the fact that which big time name would sign for us based on the last 2 seasons. This season is about getting us where we were and rebuilding from there. I can't see bolasie having that much of a sell on value after where we've got where (or close) to where we want to be at.

Believable2 Unbelievable9

09 Aug 2016 23:25:05
Every players price in this league has inflated, you would get Jordan ibe for 15m. And as for not getting a sell on value/ profit, we hopefully aren't a sell on club nomore! Unless the player wants to go. Chin up mate we could be spending 35m on Andy caroll.

Agree4 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 23:54:36
The most important thing is the team being stronger, if the club can afford what we are paying then I have no problem. We could start this season with stekelenberg, gueye, Williams, kone, Bolasie and bony, that already makes us way stronger than we were even with stones gone. Also koeman is a better manager than Martin so we know he will get the best out of the players we already have. Coyb!

Agree3 Disagree0

10 Aug 2016 00:15:28
I don't know why supporters are focusing on how much a player costs or is worth. What Koeman has to do is develop a team that is capable of getting us up the table and into the European spots. If he thinks that getting Bolasie or Williams or any other player is essential to achieving that goal then who cares how much it costs? If their is a time to be critical it is at the end of the season and not now.

10 Aug 2016 00:39:31
9.5m for Williams.

In the words of the Oracle Ed2

FORGET ABOUT THE FREAKING MONEY

I added freaking on obviously.

Agree3 Disagree0

10 Aug 2016 15:57:52
It's not coming out of our pockets. Its only too much if it's outside the financial means of the club. TBH we are all whining about transfers then when we get close its too much? Forget the cash the billionaire supplying it is not worrying. To be a top club we have to spend yes probably over the odds but city have spent 100 million on two players. We have sold on players massivly inflated it happens. Let's embrace this I've been waiting a lifetime for us to spend a few bob. We nearly sold out to tesco for a flat pack stadium few years back. Except it we are not povo's any more. COYB.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 22:03:37
Stones money to be spent on bolaisie Williams and kone, what about the £100 million, couple marquee signings? striker and a number 10?getting greedy now.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i think you will find there is more to come dazza..

09 Aug 2016 23:49:54
Rumours Kone gone back to Sunderland?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2016 00:09:39
Will be really disappointed if we don't sign Kone. Him alongside Williams would be a serious defensive upgrade and would give us the threat in the opposition box that we not had since Derek Mountfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2016 00:23:30
Missed a number one keeper out Dave1878.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 19:03:21
Feckin hell - from nothing to 4 signings all at once. I'm hearing Williams any minute, Bolasie fee agreed, Kone 18 mill. Bid made and Bony close. is this right Ed? Or am I hallucinating mate?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - things are happening soli, looks like it could be very interesting times for everton mate..

09 Aug 2016 23:39:44
Kone back in training with sunderland tomorrow, waiting for their new contract offer, expecting to play for them on saturday, that's the word from his agent tonight.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 23:45:22
When will we sign a goalkeeper we do need one, a top class one?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 21:31:34
Mcnair apparently on the move to Sunderland. Does this free up Kone to us maybe?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2016 22:34:50
Read that he was staying in a hotel ready to sign tomorrow so I guess so.
Goo business by them. . buy kone for 5m, flog him to us for 18m, get mcnair and love for a combined fee off 8m. so 10m for other player. Moyes has still got it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes found his level fanatic, yo yo club who,s supporters are happy to survive..they like taking knives to gunfights.. :)

09 Aug 2016 22:58:24
Kone's agent has been quoted by skysports that kone will be at training tomorrow (Wednesday) and available for selection on Saturday plus he is still awaiting a new contract offer.
Looks like his move has fallen through, could it be we have spent stones money and that's us skint again?

Agree1 Disagree3

09 Aug 2016 20:08:38
Chelsea starting to show an intrest kone.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

09 Aug 2016 21:45:41
Out of all the players we are linked with Kone is the one we really want. The man is a beast at 6ft 5in and a brick wall at the back but if Chelsea are sniffing doesn't look good.

Agree4 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 22:35:54
Deal has been agreed in principle and reportedly staking in town in preparation for a deal to be done tomorrow. Cheshire can do one.

Whilst also getting a fee Palace are set to. take Niasse on a season long loan with a view to a permanent deal!

Believable1 Unbelievable2

09 Aug 2016 19:45:25
Watch him bang 20 goals in for them next season!

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Aug 2016 20:05:07
Can' believe we are willing to pay that amount for Bolasie, he is bein moved on because they have bought Andros townsend in, this new era is starting to look depressingly familiar, w start to do business once we have sold a top player, getting the likes of bolasie in will only strengthen Lukaku's resolve to leave, players of Bolasies's ilk are not going to get us in the top six, very disappointing with how things are panning out .

Agree2 Disagree2

09 Aug 2016 20:10:27
Wishful thinking palace want benteke with the money we pay for bolasie.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 20:31:57
Bolasie is a midfielder when Rom goes we've got no one up front.

Agree1 Disagree2

09 Aug 2016 21:36:14
Bolasie is top draw on his day and believe me Ronald Is the man to get consistency out of his players. Can't believe some of the fans are moaning about payin 30m for one of the most exciting wingers in the league. I'd rather pay 30 for him than 50 for sterling anyone else? This is the market we live in.

Agree5 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 21:56:13
Lads serious? Bolasie is the left sided player we have been crying out for to supplement Rom not replace him. Look at the system we will be playing and Rom will be the focal point of the triangle of 3 attackers with Bolasie on the left side of him and Del boy on the right side. Chelsea won't pay the price and we won't roll over and have our belly tickled like we did in the past, therefore without the asking price being met Lukaku is and will remain an Everton player. We are in transition so we are building and yes Bolasie isn't Bale but we are not in Europe at all and are on the back of 2 poor 11th place finishes. We are a work in progress so get on board get behind the team and leave the negativity and moaning to our neighbours.

Agree4 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 22:37:10
Tbh I read something before saying that rom was happy to stay. All this is for a payrise.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 18:10:48
Ssn, now bolasie fee agreed, things are really moving now.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

09 Aug 2016 18:30:52
Palace fans happy to see back of Bolasie RK must see something in him to pay £25mill good on his day but doesn't have too many good days but we will see.

09 Aug 2016 18:33:38
Not what I would call a marquee signing.

09 Aug 2016 18:48:31
Niasse to Palace?

Agree4 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 18:55:45
I don't get this. He is better than anybody else in out team at the moment let's be honest!

Agree4 Disagree3

09 Aug 2016 19:05:17
We had our pants pulled down by him last palace game he turned us inside out! Good signing.

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 19:07:36
Was Mahrez or Kante a marquee signing? . Hey came good. Nothing to say he won't too.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 19:08:55
What marquee signing is going to join us 11th in league no Europe come on lad grow up were not a viable commodity at this present time give ronnie a chance i'm sure in 12 months things will be different coyb.

Agree4 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 20:05:02
Hopefully now we're active in the market we might be a bit more attractive to bigger players. I'v got a feeling we will have 1 marquee signing before window shuts.

{Ed025's Note - maybe?..

10 Aug 2016 00:52:15
bigduncan - great point mate.

Dont get me wrong 30 million is steep but like bigduncan said id rather pay that for Bolasie than 55 mill for sterling, who is utter dog spaff.

Everyone moans when we don't sign players, we finally start making positive moves and now your moaning about the money, can't win.

Selling Stones for 50 mill (with add-ons and minus the barnsley fee and legal fees) we will have about 35 mill.

If we sign Bolasie 25 mill upfront, Kone 18 mill, Williams 12 mill - makes use 20 mill down for 3 players that are going to strengthen are team massivley.

If Joe Allen is worth 13 million and Leroy Sane is worth 37 million, an unproven kid who might be the next andre schurrle. Il take it all day.

We finished 11th last year and have no European football to offer. May as well add in that we are not a London club.

At the end of the day the team is strengthening. Whether it be players that are going to come in and start, or be it, they come off the bench. Its better having Gueye/ McCarthy/ Barry, Kone, Mori, Jags, Williams, Bolasie, Lennon, Del Boy to bring on than McGeady, Gibson, Osman, Pienaar, Niasse.

I suspect we will sign a keeper and another creative mid and a striker. We still have that 100 mill we had before the stones deal.

The below are players that we could go after/ been linked with:

Stek/ Joel ---> Begovic (most likely) / Enyeama/ Butland

Coleman/ Holgate
Kone/ Jags and Mori/ Williams
Baines/ Oviedo ---> F*** knows

Barry/ Gueye and McCarthy/ Clev ---> Carvalho/ Witsel/ Schneiderlin

Del Boy/ Lennon and Mirallas ---> Bolasie/ / Hiyech/ Ghezzal/ Tadic

Barkley ---> Mata/ Nasri/ Yarmolenko/

Lukaku ---> Remy/ Bony/ Dost/ Deeney/ Bacca

Its better than being linked with championship and Wigan players, so why moan.

COYFBB!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - your maths is appalling. You have not factored in signing bonuses, agent's fees, solicitors' fees etc. It comes to a lot more than 20m down. It is best if everyone just forgets about the finances and the prices, they are usually completely wrong in the media anyway.}

09 Aug 2016 14:19:44
Ashley williams has signed for 12 mill not a bad replacement.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2016 16:02:10
Not a replacement as such but will hopefully bring Holgate on, who has impressed me so far.

Agree4 Disagree1

09 Aug 2016 18:37:58
Anyone else see him as a Jagielka replacement? Kone for Stones, if either sign?

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 13:10:21
Reports that Moyes wants jags as part of the kone deal and palace want Robson kanu to replace bolasie who they are willing to loose because of signing Townsend and help fund move for benteke.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2016 14:03:29
I would believe that Moyes wants Jags but I do not think we would let him go as we need him at the club.

Agree3 Disagree1

09 Aug 2016 14:07:27
Agree mate we can't loose another defender when jags fit he is still a good defender.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 15:01:17
I reckon martins indi will be at the club soon so jags might feel it's time to move on. If it happens we'd have indi, williams, kone and mori 2 left and 2 right footers.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 19:24:26
Love jags however I feel now is a good time for him to leave. Injuries cropping up all the time. I think we've seen the best of jags and need to bring in some younger players. Be sad to see him go though if he does.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 13:04:35
Ed you heard anything about jags going to Sunderland? With 2 new defenders on the way might it be feasible? Also with martins indi still looking on the cards.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any Sunderland offer for Jagielka nor any Everton offer for Martins-Indi - perhaps if Everton fail with their ifirst choice then he may be an option.}

09 Aug 2016 13:23:17
OK cheers Ed just wasn't sure if Sunderland wanted a player exchange for kone.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They don't want to sell Kone but as I said if someone were to be prepared to pay over the odds they will listen. If they want PJ then I suspect it would be a separate deal - his value will be low given his age.}

09 Aug 2016 13:37:19
Thanks ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

09 Aug 2016 16:28:21
The players didn't like moyes so I'd be surprised if jags went there.
Think Ashley Williams should be given the armband though so if that did happen jags might decide to leave.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Aug 2016 17:09:08
Yea williams should definitely be Ron's capt.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 11:56:54
SO that's Stones gone - glad it's over with. The Lukaku stuff is going to keep rumbling on.

Ed, have Chelsea or anyone else even tabled a bid for him yet? You said the other day their top brass had sanctioned one - was contact ever made?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I did not say anything about "top brass". What I said was that the two people at the club who were particularly offended have agreed to sanction an offer although one still remains concerned. Whilst not first choice for Chelsea and whilst they will not pay the price being asked, the player wants to return and Everton know that. So it is possible. Napoli remains a possibility but not at the asking price. In the interim, Chelsea are keen to ensure that they have sufficient cover are now (today) talking with a representative of another striker. I very much doubt they will be interested in being screwed around.}

09 Aug 2016 12:21:32
Sorry just assumed if they were a big enough deal to have to give the OK for a bid it'd be high ranking people.

Cheers for the info though Ed. WHo they talking to?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is unimportant Dave - this is the Everton page.}

09 Aug 2016 12:48:54
Icardi apparently.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 11:56:53
Ed002 I know you are very confident that the Williams deal will be happening imminently so Knowing your knowledge I'm classing that as a done deal, but is there any truth in the rumors that Kone is also in Liverpool ready to sign aswell. Do you think our response will be two replacements straight away.

Thanks in advance mate.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I have not said that - I cannot tell you when a transfer will be completed. I can tell you that Everton are keen and I can tell you that if terms can be agreed and Swansea can assure a replacement then a transfer should be possible. I have no idea where Kone is today.}

09 Aug 2016 12:41:42
Cheers Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 14:05:45
If we have so much money how come we had to sell Stones first before getting a replacement, have things not changed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have explained over and over about the money.}

09 Aug 2016 11:44:00
Eds it seems we are linked just now with Martins Indi, Kone and Williams do you think, if they are true, that we could have these deals done before Saturday. This would be great acquisitions if they go through. I feel that would be our defebnce sorted.

COYB.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No idea - I cannot answer questions about the time to complete transfers. I have explained that Sunderland will not be keen to sell Kone but if offered over the odds will listen - and I have explained that a deal for Williams is well in hand but I suspect Swansea will want a replacement agreed before letting him leave.}

09 Aug 2016 12:53:34
Echo says that ronnie has no interest in Bruno Indi Martin.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 12:15:12
Ashley Williams in for £12 million.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

09 Aug 2016 11:10:41
If David Moyes supposedly would like some Everton players to join Sunderland, then I imagine he won't be interested in the Martinez buys (especially unsuccessful ones - for whatever reason - like McGeady, Kone, Robles, etc. ) , but rather ones that he originally brought in (like Mirallas, Oviedo, Jagielka, Gibson, etc. )

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2016 11:23:03
According to skysports Sunderland have said there has been no bid for kone we need a replacement in soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 11:54:16
Sky sports says kone is on merseyside today.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 11:02:06
Well the club just officially told us Stones has gone so where does that leave us? £50mill better off but short at the back hopefully a busy few days now let's see what RK and Walsh have up there sleeves.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Rather less than £50M better off - something like £35M will be the amount Everton will have after paying off Barnsley and the player - and after legal and other fees. Up the sleeve is Ashley Williams.}

09 Aug 2016 11:36:28
Ed do we still pay off the player if he had not retracted his transfer request from last year?

Thanks in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The club never accepted a transfer request - the player has to be paid what is due.}

09 Aug 2016 11:45:02
The fee is 47.5 mil with add on's to take it over the 50 mil mark according to the echo. ed how much money does Barnsley get out of stones deal is it about 7 mil.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - 15%.}

09 Aug 2016 11:52:12
Did Stones end up handing in a transfer request ed? If so doesn't that mean any loyalty fee's get waived in the event of a transfer? . Or are there other fee's involved? .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The player has to be paid off - there was no forced exit.}

09 Aug 2016 10:49:56
So it looks like Stones will start the season with City that means we will have to have a replacement lined up cause there is no way we would sell unless we have someone coming in.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Someone like Ashley Williams you mean?}

09 Aug 2016 11:37:14
This is Everton. There is definitely a chance we have sold him without someone else coming in. It looks like it will be Williams, but I expect us to drag that out as much as possible so we start the season without him.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Aug 2016 16:06:56

09 Aug 2016 10:35:09
Eds with stones on his way out do u have any idea if it is just cash or is there any city players involved in a swap, thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement over a sale right now.}

09 Aug 2016 10:42:29
Do u know if the deal that is being talked about is straight cash or cash plus player thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City will be open to including one of their surplus players (e.g. Mangala, Bony, Nasri etc.) in any of their coming transactions but it would cause a complication (in that efforts would be needed to persuade a player to make the move) and a potential delay. It is more common to separate the matters. Manchester City are keen to get the transfer for Stones sorted out - and Everton are keen on getting a replacement sorted out.}

09 Aug 2016 11:11:27
Thanks ed, very informative as ever. As I write this I've just had a notification from Everton to say stones has been sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Right, they now have agreement for the sale of the player.}

09 Aug 2016 11:17:29
At least that saga is over and we can all move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 12:04:58
Agree I'd say the Eds are happy to put this to bed. It was. Getting boring. I would imagine a replacement is close to being announced, fingers crossed. I would like Williams and indi Martins Might be wishful thinking. I hope Stones goes on to be as good as Rodwell:)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 08:22:45
Ssn reporting we have bid in the region of 17mil for Kone of Sunderland. any truth to this eds.

Believable0 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - Sunderland's Lamine Kone has been subject to interest from Everon and Leicester but after only moving from Lorient in January a move this summer seems unlikely. West Ham enquired after him last summer and again in January but that interest has likely gone. Sunderland will look to hold on to the player.}

09 Aug 2016 10:22:36
Cheers ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 00:21:54
Ed I know it's been reported in the press today that Kone wants to stay at Sunderland but do you think there's a chance he's on his way to Everton? Also would like to see a creative midfielder come in. Do you know of any players the club may be looking at in that area?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - it looks like kone will be staying at sunderland wrighty, im with you on us needing a creative midfielder mate and coric from zagreb seems to be the one we are looking towards..

09 Aug 2016 06:53:31
Eds the express have published a story, with kone pictired with an efc fan, supposedly in Liverpool last night as he travelled down in anticipation of a deal being done.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i have just seen that fanatic nothing certain of course but it does look promising, the thing is who will moyes want as part of any deal?..it could be interesting mate..
