Moyes taking Round and youth development staff with him. Davie Weir has a good chance of the job with Stubbs as number 2.

Believable11 Unbelievable25

No chance what so ever

Agree0 Disagree0

Just what a team that finishes 6th and needs to replace several players in key positions needs, a manager with no experience.

moyes looks like the cat who got the cheese but big bill confirmed no deal done for moyes to go united

Believable6 Unbelievable11

"The cat who got the cheese" - that's a new one!

Agree0 Disagree0

It's got nothing to do with bill kenwright about any deal moyes is a free agent and he can do what he likes did not give him any backing with money the board lacked ambition so they got what they deserve from are position down apart from the Swansea manager I would not what any one of them to manage our club Same old everton last minute to late agin gutted

Agree0 Disagree0

If you look at the interview with Kenwright on tv last night again this morning, Bill was choked, nearly burst into tears, this says it all. Moyes is off.

This will happen,. Fellaini to united in straight swap for wayne rooney, after wayne agreed to take a pay cut. wait and see!. {Ed025's Note - hmmm..

Believable13 Unbelievable30

Rooney and anichebe? I ve seen worse but Manchester United would want a big slice o cash for that and personally I think we are going to need to use any sales cash to strengthen in the lb and centre mid positions. don't think would splash 15m or so and Rooney. not now

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2013 00:46:29
Rooney is going to PSG.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're too funny. do you really think that is ever going to happen?

Believable17 Unbelievable13

If David Moyes does go to Manchester United then he does with my thanks as a true blue. What he has done for our club is simply unbelievable, he has given us some amazing times and he deserves this chance on his own merit.

doing the rounds up here that its neil lennon youll approach. any truth in it ed? bhoywonder {Ed025's Note - i really hope not mate..

Believable5 Unbelievable25

Would be an absolute disaster that one mate, I seriously hope your wrong!

Mick

Agree0 Disagree0

Im with ed I will lose the will to live if lennon gets the job not good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would Mr Lennon leave a team in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE to got to at best a Europa League outfit? He has worked on a lower budget than Mr Moyes and has brought in better players over the last 2 seasons than Saint Moyes. {Ed025's Note - come on mate..get a grip!..my bird could manage in the SPL..

Agree0 Disagree0

No way one horrible little angry man

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2013 22:57:18
Are we being serious here? Neil Lennon guided his team to Champions League last 16 beating Barcelona along the way but still use doubt his ability? {Ed025's Note - big harold hughes guided canada dock to 3 amateur cup wins...and hes not getting considered either!..

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2013 01:16:53
Neil Lennon has something on his CV that Moyes doesn't last 16 of champions league and also league titles :) his signing policy at Celtic has been outstanding Gary Hooper Victor Wanyama Fraser Foster all proved it at European level plus he had smaller budget than Moyes : ( Give Lenny a chance :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol who is to say neil lennon would won't to go to everton hardly a big club is it {Ed025's Note - that would suit everyone then..

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi all Everton fans. Please don't let the angry trolling the rangers fans put you off. IMO NL is better than any of the candidates I have seen mentioned. You would be lucky to get him. Sure he is not the finished article but was DM ten years ago? Did he (DM)not come from a lower league club. I am sure that club did not have the pedigree of CFC. The last 16 of the CL is purported to be the equivalent of the final of the Europa so a little bit of respect regrding NL Celtic and Scottish football would be Welcomed. Sopotcelt.

Agree0 Disagree0

People need to stop going on about the spl being poor it has no funding so it isn't going to be g. reat but it still takes a good manager to motivate a team week in and week out to win every game not they should win he's a good young firey manager that would do reaaly well at any club he went to pluhe has won trophies and has champions league experience and that is somthing moyes hasn't gots he y

Agree0 Disagree0

Alex Ferguson came from the Scottish League.

Agree0 Disagree0

NL not good enough? Last 16 off the champions league with one off the youngest teams in it. Did better than your champions Man City and also better than the champions league holders Chelsea. Just remember you got DM from Preston and he turned out not bad. {Ed025's Note - its all about opinions mate..celtic were great in the CL, i just think we need someone who is experienced in the EPL..

Believable13 Unbelievable9

I think he should stay away on sunday. he must have known this, we have been left in deep dog doo

Agree0 Disagree0

The silence from the club is deafening, we are being run by part timers and amateurs.
Things have got to change at Board room
level or it won't make any difference who the manager is.
Whatever happens our supporters mustn't take it out on the team on saturday, its a time to rally to the cause.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2013 18:43:43
The board and David Moyes have surely been aware of Fergies position for some time, but as all ways they seem happy to disrespect the fans by keeping us in the dark. These money grabbers should follow Moyes out the door. It was never about how much funding would have been available, anyone in business knows how much funding is available to them months in advance, just a red herring and as for the new investment that's swimming along side the other.
IMOP I don't think Moyes will be a great success at Utd, the pressure to perform will be immense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip. its happening really fast and no one knows the details. For me, i'm gutted but I wish Moysey all the best. charlieblue

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2013 19:06:53
If Moyes agrees to move and it's announced before Saturday then he must stay away for the last two games; it's about Everton not Moyes (good luck to him no hard feelings but he should not confuse issues by hanging around).
Phil Neville & Stubbs to take charge for final games.

Agree0 Disagree0

i think the goodison board should go as well, It seems to me that our bill is trying to run the club him self, The rest of the everton board are as usefull as farts in a space suit, Why don't they go as well. They are no help to our great club,

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2013 16:27:30
i have a friend who works at Goodison in the ticket office and it will be announced in the next 24 hous that Moyes is off to Manchester Utd. i'm also told that it is between Martinez and Poyet who the board are looking at.

Believable15 Unbelievable15

So much for sitting down with chairman to discuss options at the end of the season. Can t help but think he deserves it though! Stublue

Agree0 Disagree0

I think moyes has led us on. he has known fergie was retiring and waited for this. up the garden path springs to mind. johno

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that how it works at all the big clubs then- 1. Manager and chairman reach an agreement 2. Run down and tell everyone in the ticket office 3. Schedule press conference

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah because staff in the ticket office get the news before anyone else at the club, give it a rest

Agree0 Disagree0

Defo not poyet as he will sat at brighton

Agree0 Disagree0

Prefer laundrap

Agree0 Disagree0

O'Neill? {Ed025's Note - hes worse than megson FFS!!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Tony, is your mate Laura Telfer? I used to go school with her. She was a koppite!

Agree0 Disagree0

Look lads for him or against him David Moyes, if he gets the united job should be applauded for what he's done at everton. turning us from constantly trying to avoid relegation battles under the likes of wacky walter, to taking on the big boys and raising all our expectations season after season battling for European places, reaching finals, semi finals etc always with one hand tied. behind his back. with a bit of financial backing to compete with the so called big boys i'm certain he would of put a trophy in the cabinet by now that and a bit of luck along the way. So if this is the end for him, I for one wish him all the best and thank him for being manager of our club and for raising the bar year after year. If the biggest team in Europe if not the world want you, youd be a fool to turn them down. you may never get another chance. thanks moyesy {Ed025's Note - i echo most of that jimmy...but im also excited about a new start mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I am myself ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

All good things come an end, maybe we got too comfortable with Moyes at the helm. We had reasonable expectations and he attained or sometimes surpassed them. So a change may or may not be a bad thing but be careful what you wish for, Alan Curbishley left Charlton because the fans thought he should get them higher than 6th. Good luck to Davie and heres to our next manager. Could be someone from our own bootroom such as Weir or Stubbs.

Agree0 Disagree0

How has Moyes let us down?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2013 15:49:30

Believable16 Unbelievable9

08 May 2013 16:06:16
Martinez?? Please no!!
This man is a charlatan!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fuk me ed, I hope we show more imagination than Martinez.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez from Wigan is favourite.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pablo, do you th gym in Ormskirk mate? By the way I don't want martinez either.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2013 16:20:32
No mate not me must be another pablo!
I just hope he doesn't want Martinez either!

Agree0 Disagree0

Di matteo

Agree0 Disagree0

We shound go for the porto manger

Agree0 Disagree0

Dunno about Martinez. could be a good fit. He likes to play football and we have got a considerable better team than Wigan

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2013 16:33:23
How about slaven bilic? {Ed025's Note - im sure his name will be mentioned .

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like to give Big Dunc a crack at it {Ed025's Note - no way..

Agree0 Disagree0

Pablo: Roberto Martinez is not a charlatan, he's a Catalan!
He was born in Balaguer, in the province of Lleida in Catalonia. {Ed025's Note - i like that jonesy.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster who said we should go for the "porto manger"' we'd be better off going for "Pret a Manger", as they'll have plenty of bread and that's what our club desperately needs ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope you are joking Ed025, martinez is a joke. I hope we go for the porto manager first and then someone like di matteo, solskjaer or billic would be a far better option than knob jockey martinez. Knowing BK his shortlist probably includes other s***houses like lenon and o'neil
Cheeks {Ed025's Note - i feel we could do worse than martinez cheeks, but im sure lots of us have different ideas mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why no to Martinez? are you frightened that he might try and win games by playing football rather than hoof and hope like on Sunday and get a draw

Agree0 Disagree0

Vitor Perreira?

Agree0 Disagree0

How about de boer at ajax? 3 league titles on the bounce, and was a fantastic player who should command respect and is another total football man. just a thought boys, as nobody has mentioned him I don't think. {Ed025's Note - he would want big money for transfers IMO..

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't be at all surprised at Phil Neville getting the nod.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

He left to go watch the Chelsea vs tottenham game

Agree0 Disagree0

He left training at around 13:30pm this afternoon, his brother was driving the merc with moyes in passenger seat out of finch farm travelling down to london to watch chelsea v spurs tonight

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he's gone down to London to meet up with Bill and discuss his new contract. If that is the case Moyes holds all the cards and is in a very strong position now to get what he wants from Everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes will definitely be manager of Manchester United next season. If he doesn't grab the opportunity now he won't have another chance

Agree0 Disagree0

He holds the cards? It's not hard Utd or Everton lol. A life long toffee gutted

Agree0 Disagree0

He's going to United do you blame him. he can't achieve any more at Everton

I note that some people are suggesting Benitez as a replacement for Moyes because his family still lives in the area. Well, if he thought the Chelsea fans gave him a rough ride, he won't believe how Everton fans would react! There's no way BK would dare to bring in anybody that so many fans would so obviously object to.
Whoever takes over from Moyes - his departure to ManUtd is inevitable now surely - there will be a substantial number of our fans who'll object to the choice. I can't think of one of the current (realistic) possibilities that would be welcomed by all of the fans. Anyway, without adequate finances, would any "proven" manager want to come to Everton?

Believable7 Unbelievable8

There is no chance united will take that risk on moyes, the special one is off to united

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez, Laudrup, Pereira, Neville, Lennon, Mackay.

These are all the managers that have been ear-marked.

Me personally I would love Martinez, wanted him as a replacement for about 2 years now. Think the way our style of play has progressed to (at times, top class, flowing football e. g. fulham away) it will suit Martinez. He also likes his teams to work hard which has always been embedded at us anyway. And he knows how to operate on a shoe-string budget.

Other than that I wouldn't mind Neville, just cause he is a top top professional and knows what evertons about. Moyes has even called him his no. 2 before, with no disrespect to Steve Round.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes is apparently in "pole position" to take over at ManUtd. He's cut from the same cloth as SAF. Mourinho would no doubt love the job - and is very respectful to SAF - but the ManUtd board are apparently wary of his approach to management of a club as a whole rather than just the first team. Matt Busby, Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes - can't you see the pattern?
Anyhow, that all said, I'm much more concerned about who'll be the next Everton manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have Benitez rather than a lot of the names being banded around.

Agree0 Disagree0

David Flitcroft is the next Moyes

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm more worried about the players that Moyes could take with him, plus he knows that we need the money more than most so could snap up players on the cheap from us. if he goes

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, I think that Baines will go if Moyes goes. the best LB in the prem, arguably the best LB around in football at the moment for a price of 15 million- Moyes would take that.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2013 16:18:51
The only name I have seen that I would like (based on cv) is Rafa. I don't care that he was with RS can't believe I would see EFC player or Manager go to Man Utd! There's no loyalty in football anymore.
Please don't get Martinez! He will take us down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes is united manager

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2013 11:08:15
well I definatley wouldn't go for the spanish waqiter, I would go for mckay who has just come up to the premiere league, I wouldn't have martinez, Laudrup could be, just hope we can start beating the top teams, chelsea, spurs, arsenal, man. utd, We have got to all get behind the new manager and the players he brings in. Get rid of the dead wood. And bring in some fresh faces, And play attractive winning football,

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2013 11:40:08
Heard a rumour that if Chelsea with the Europa League and qualify for the CL then the Premier League will get an additional Europa place for the league so whoever finishes 6th will qualify for the Europa League too. can't find anything to confirm this anyone know if its true?

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable7 Unbelievable8

You can't find anything to confirm it because it is a load of BS, there is no way for us to qualify for europe unless we finish 5th which is not going to happen because spurs only need a point from their last 3 games

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are people still going on about this it's been explained so many times it must be doing the Eds head in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless chelsea win the europa and finish 5th and we finish 6th.
Then we qualify for europa.
eeeez fact! {Ed002's Note - No. Fifth is a Europa League spot already.}

Either way I hope we hear something soon so the club can move on and start getting ready for pre season! {Ed002's Note - As I have explained before, Moyes was expected to leave this summer regardless. I explained that he had options which would take him up one year, including a position in Germany.}

Latest (Mail On Line)
Vitor Pereira (Porto) is ready to follow his close friend Andre Villas-Boas into English football, in a development that will alert Everton, amid growing uncertainty over David Moyes' future.
Like Moyes, 44-year old Pereira is out of contract this summer and unsure about signing a new deal, despite two hugely successful seasons since succeeding Villas-Boas as Porto coach.

Think Moyes is half we out of the door now, who would we all want to see at Goodison? Martinez has done a good job with Wigan and works on a similar budget to us. For me it will be a manager in the Prem or below.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Gus Poyet pal

Agree0 Disagree0

If it's possible and it would get the support from the fans then get the Porto manager

Agree0 Disagree0

If he goes then good luck to him, move on quickly so we can establish a replacement and get him in place with some new signings and prepare for the season ahead. If he stays then I hope he grows a set and we start to attack teams and kill off games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Matteo, Billic or De Boer for me. RW

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez' teams are good going forward but horribly disorganised defensively. He's cheap and wouldn't demand a big budget and that will appeal to Billy NoPennies but he's not of a standard to move us forward from here. He's probably not good enough to maintain our current level. A definite, thanks but no thanks from me.

Makes no difference which manager comes in, we will always have the same problems a owner with no money a stadium which is long past its best. Who in there right mind would want the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Laudrup or Martinez would be my personal preference

Agree0 Disagree0

ITS NOT MARTINEZ, you guys are putting bilic in charge.
dragovic of Croatian desent says he wants to join everton, his actual words this summer, moyes has let the contract run down as this deal was done ages ago.
Jelavic is already there, bilic has made no secret for his love of the toffees, so if you fancy a punt get on bilic.

Agree0 Disagree0

If anyone billic for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

People complaining about martinez' defence, I think if we got him in but kept steve round, we could have the best of both worlds, martinez' attacking style and steve rounds defence coaching which is half the reason we concede very few goals

Agree0 Disagree0

He's done a good job at Wigan?
Which planet have you been on for last 3 years lad?

Agree0 Disagree0

Good job at Wigan? Maybe he has done well to keep them in the premier but they have been fighting relegation throughout the majority of his time there. We need somebody to take us to the next level and he is not the right man. Bilic or Laudrup are the two I'd like us to be interested in. On the other hand, even though the bookies are adamant that Moyes is utd bound, has he really got the credentials to follow SAF? I'm not so certain they will appoint him due to his lack of experience in the champions league. Time will tell boys.

martin oneil out of contract I think cert to be next everton boss but david jones a good friend of bills watch this space. {Ed025's Note - for christs sake, dont let it be o,neill...

Believable2 Unbelievable13

Please no o neil or jones.
jones is a good evertonian but not a good manager IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

Billic! having worked at international level for many a year, will have scouted many players and have the experience to be able to handle the premier league. May even get the best out of Jelavic who let's face it is really a good CF although we may all have forgotten that. Bluenose Will

Agree0 Disagree0

I cannot see David Jones as a serious successor to DM.
He just doesn't tick anywhere near the right amount of boxes, which ever way you look at it, DM has created a whole new way to look at our managers/coaches. The bar has been raised end of!

O'Neil? well, he failed at SAFC and lost the confidence of many a player, ex-player, pundit, journo,

and not least of all, ME!

Please not oneil I would have billic as my no1

Agree0 Disagree0

Just no to Martin oneil and Dave Jones

Agree0 Disagree0

For the love of god please don't let it be O'neill.

Agree0 Disagree0

No to O'neil, he would get us relegated. Maybe not right away but over time.

Agree0 Disagree0

O'Neill classic. Rodgers?

You rated Moyes' chance of staying an 8/10 and now your saying he's on his way. Is staying or leaving Ed? And what makes you so sure?
GoodisonGeorge {Ed025's Note - ED02 thinks hes off george, and he does know his onions mate...myself, im not so sure..

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I just wish Moyes or even the club would come out and say is he going or staying, surely he knows now what he is going to do. The club have got our season ticket money, they at least owe the fans some sort of comment.
Patsyblue {Ed025's Note - nothing is certain yet patsy, BK will be pulling out all the stops to keep him..

Agree0 Disagree0

The man has done wonders for 11 years, I think he at least deserves the privacy to take some time over his decisions which will impact the rest of his life. He has always been forthright to us and he has been in this instance saying he will decide at the end of the season, what more does he owe than that to the fans whether you brought your season ticket or not, I would like to think I would buy mine no matter what moyes does, he can't respond to every news article we read!

With sir Alex retiring is that moyes gone?

Believable20 Unbelievable4

'While Ferguson may well yet continue on his rolling one-year contract, it is understood that any successor to the Scot would be required by the club to have extended experience of managing in the Champions League, and expertise in handling a large budget and squad. These criteria would appear to rule out David Moyes, the Everton manager, despite Ferguson being an admirer though earlier this week bookmakers slashed the odds on him joining United – possibly as member of the backroom staff – this summer'
