What about Michy Batshuayi as a replacement for Rom Ed? Marseille have said he is available at a piece and I've heard nothing but good things about him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - The problem is that Everton has shown no interest, the price is high and he would be looking for Champions League.}

Marseille rumoured to want around £30million, I would hope we would be willing to pay that for a forward if Rom is to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't think Everton will be shopping on the basis of price but I am sure if the right player was identified £30M would not be an issue. But as I say, Batshuayi will be looking for Champions League or a club expected to be playing at the highest level on a regular basis.

Marseille has spoken to Juventus, Valencia and Chelsea about Michy Batshuayi whilst numerous clubs have attended Marseille games this season to watch him and others. Interest of Lyon, Porto, Milan, Monaco and Benfica has seemingly moved on for now due to the price and other issues. Atletico were still hedging their bets over a move by Griezmann and have stepped back after Griezmann agreed a new contract. Arsenal has had long-term interest as have Spurs and Roma, and whilst none can be discounted from making an offer in the summer but the player may be sold but not on the open market. We need to wait and see. Whilst Marseille do not want to sell (and have signed him to a contract extension) and the player wants to stay, a summer move is still looking likely whilst management, financial and ownership issues continue to be the prime focus of the club at the moment. Interest of West Ham and Leicester is known to Marseille but it has gone no further as the player has no interest in moving to either side. Juventus interest was to be dependent on Morata but they have, during discussions over another player, put a very attractive package on the table that could end all speculation of a sale on the open market this summer. Firm interest of Dortmund is known to Marseille but a request for a meeting has been shunned for now whilst Marseille address other major issues as a priority - and again there is a dependency on what happens with another player, in this case Aubameyang. But is may well be a matter beyond Dortmund now. In recent discussions with a major European side over the transfer of another player, Batshuayi was discussed and a tentative agreement reached if he were to become available. Marseille are open to this deal as it will help in other endeavours the club has - but they would like the matter addressed behind closed doors as far as they can.}

Hey guys new here with lukaku pretty much on verge of leaving and spurs in talks with jansen what's the chances of us getting alexandra lacazette for me better quality then lukaku and it would show that we we mean business :)

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - About zero.}

08 Jun 2016 15:47:33
Ed if we have zero chances of getting lacezette do u have any other strikers u think we stand a chance of getting in your opion.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There are plenty of strikers out there but Lacazette is one who won't be moving to Everton. Shani Tarashaj will arrive from Grasshoppers of course and Sambou will be available, although perhaps not for the first team just yet. Of the strikers the club were looking at I suspect only Milik remains viable now. Much will be driven by Monchi (if he arrives). It will become clear in the not to distant future.}

Thanks ed but what about the fella from sporting Lisbon silimani we where rumored to be after him in january.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Everton seem to have dropped their interest whilst others are pushing.}

I think I would prefer a move for Hernandez and as daft as it seems at his age I would even be tempted to take a proven goal scorer like Defoe! I understand he is not a long term solution but could certainly contribute 15-20 next season While we go out and find out long term targets.

Hi ed's, what players are looking likely to leave us in summer? Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Much will depend on what Monchi's view is should he be recruited - so the chance for him to sit down with the coaching staff and the new manager will be important. There is interest in Lukaku as you know and I expect interest in Stones.}

08 Jun 2016 15:48:47
Ed002, your talking like Monchi is a done deal. Do you have inside info?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No I am not - "should he be recruited" is pretty clear to me.}

Vincent Janssen is in talks with Spurs, Eds do you know if we are in the mix as well I know we have scouted him just wondered if it goes beyond that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - AZ's Vincent Janssen has attracted a great deal of attention with his performances this season with van Gaal having scouts watch him on several occasions and Schalke 04 doing the same. Everton have approached AZ regarding Janssen knowing that they will almost certainly lose Lukaku in the summer. Spurs have put an offer on the table to AZ which they would accept if the player is willing to make the move. PSG and Arsenal also both have a declared interest but neither has him as first choice, and for Arsenal he is no better than second on the list if they decide to add a second striker as well. Aside from those clubs that have a declared interest many others have watched the player. The player knows that if he does move he needs to be playing every week or his potential international career could hit a stumbling block. For now everything remains in teh hands of AZ.}

Can't see him playing every week for Spurs with Harry Kane upfront. Presumably their involvement in the champions league next season would be a strong selling point?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The player has to consider all of these things but the Champions League will not be top of his thinking.}

Thanks Ed.

I would suggest that if Everton 'almost certainly' lose Lukaku this summer as Ed002 asserts, that Lukaku will go at a time and price of the Clubs choosing.

SSN reporting Spurs are in talks with Alkmaar about Janssen. Looks like we've missed out on what looks to be a top striker.

It's his 1st season in the Dutch league, maybe people getting a bit too excite a little too early. Just look at Niasse, Russian League Player of the Season, looks like a Championship player at best IMHO.

Some of the papers saying Koeman back off holiday Thursday presented Friday sooner the better seems a short holiday does that.

Just a thought, but perhaps the deal has been' agreed and the announcement is delayed not only until RK returns, buy also to allow his family some peace and quiet on holiday and not be overly pestered by journos.
