Apparently sigurdsson is almost done 35m being quoted. if this is true best transfer yet. VVD can only top that.

No bid has been made since our intial bid was rejected but we did make a formal bid for Van Dijk yesterday. We will also bid for Giroud on Monday.

wouldn't get too excited over vvd he has reportedly been quoted as saying he only wants to join liverpool pouring cold water on the social media folly dunno what the truth is, but i don't expect vvd to become an everton player but you never know.

VVD won't join. It will never happen. I just know we have put a formal bid in for him. Not sure why we would but we have. The reports that we have bid again for Sigurdsson are false. Pretty sure Ed002 knows this info as well.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - There has been an offer for GS but I don't know of one for VvD - nor if he would consider a move to Everton - I rather suspect not.}

Giroud is a genuine deal in the making. He won't request talks because he won't get a loyalty bonus so we will have to match Arsenals valuation before even trying to persuade him to uproot and come to the north west which apparently is not on his agenda at all. I hope we can persuade him but from what I hear that deal is not even close. The Sigurdsson stuff is more him wanting to join than us wanting to match his valuation.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Another side has been talking to Arsenal about Giroud and they have a representative still in England as she awaits news of their first choice.}

08 Jul 2017 20:45:19
Is there still any interest in cyle Larin ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - As I said on March 28 - I am not aware of any interest in Larin from Everton nor how he would be expected to gain a Work Permit in England. However, Besiktas has shown an interest in the Orlando player.}

09 Jul 2017 06:07:34
Oh right. Must've missed that

Cheers for the info. He's definitely worth keeping tabs on for the future imo.

I don't know how it all works but would his recent DUI offence have any implications on him getting a work permit if he ticked all the other criteria.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No that would not be a major hurdle but there is no interest from Everton.}

Koeman clearly believes there is something left in the Rooney tank. hoping so. but If Giroud then comes in we would have two players with little pace at the top end of the pitch and against the best I wonder if we would trouble their defences. Like to see Lookman given a chance in attack with Ramirez as they would give us that pace.

Looking forward to see who koeman brings in next. while we will miss Lukakus goals, won't miss his ego, and given his first touch, we seem to have done a great deal with Man utd. Onwards and upwards. wonder what Barkley makes of all the comings and goings. Maybe thinking he would be lucky to be invited to sign on.

He'll play 3 up top. Giroud would be the focal point with pace coming from lookman, mirallas, Lewis, Sandro.

Yea of little trust, Giroud may not even come yet, Roo won't be a main striker, Everton have got many targets still to be talked too, patient boys.

Talking about Lookman I was told that he was homesick and that resulted in a loss of form, I hope he’s over that now (if true) , because he’s got bags of raw talent .

Andre Grey from Burnley has lots of pace and a proven prem goal scorer love to get him.

08 Jul 2017 23:59:18
Gazza never had pace, nor did Sheringham, but what they did have was good footballing brains and that is where both Rooney and Giroud have something to offer. Not to mention a wealth of experience.

I believe they're talking about Calvin-Lewin, Berkshire . Autocorrect changes it to Lewis.

As someone else posted yesterday, I'm still seeing strong rumours we have bid for VVD? Whether they accept it or not is a different matter but wow that would be a great signing. Have you heard anything Eds?

BTW Welcome home Rooney lad.

{Ed025's Note - its speculation at the moment jo..

Ok thanks Ed

I apologise for my giddiness as I've never known a transfer window like this in my 30 years watching the blues.

I can't wait for the season to start

Personally, I can't see us wasting £65m on a defender when we need a top quality striker.

Agree1 Disagree2

08 Jul 2017 14:33:28
Not sure it's wasting - what a partnership Keane and VVD would be.
And just maybe they would help us make the next step to attract that 'top quality striker'. Don't think we are quite on the radar for likes of Griezmann yet - but after next season who knows.

I'd prefer to spend the money on siggurdson and a quality striker.

Strikers win you games, defences win you championships as the old adage goes. Yes we could do with another top striker but a strong defence should never be knocked.

Think we have strong cover in the right/ wing back position but obviously RK is seeing something I have missed in the LB position, what happens when Bainsy gets injured (and he will) . I thought Oviedo at first then I thought Galloway (then saw him taken apart by Stoke at Goodison) . We do need a Striker and we are strong IMO at CB. But hey, am I one chuffed to NAAFI Break blue at the moment. Never in near on ** years support have I ever known a transfer window like it. Used to smoke Dutch Masters as well.

So Lukaku is gone finally I know I said I never want to see him in an Everton shirt ever again and I meant that. But we are going to be fine blues I feel we are in for a very good season we made some great signings and more are to co come I can't remember a time when ever we sold one of our best players and thought that's ok cause we are still going to have a real go challenging for trophies this year. Any time before when we lost one of our best players it was a feeling of fear doom and gloom but not this time I'm as excited as can be and can't wait to see the mighty blues get going this season coyb.

Totally agree Stef, he did a job and was the only real goal threat, but with the players RK has brought in and the players we are linked with I'm really excited about the new season, just hope they all gel quickly so we can have a real go at the top 4, but if we get 5th or 6 th I still think we have done well with so Many new faces.

08 Jul 2017 11:30:48
That's true blue mate, ed 25 said the same it's about how quickly they can gel together hopefully as quick as possible but can really feel something special this year for us.

Lukaku was a great goal threat however it was always our main focus and all to often if you stopped Lukaku or he had one of his strops and didn't play well the team suffered. So I feel we will be better off and the team will be more exciting to watch!

Lukaku needs replacing and quickly as we have many new players that will make bedding in a huge task for Koeman and his staff.
