It's possible - he's certainly of the quality that we need. Just as likely that it's lazy journalism though boys. The press know we're after a CB, a number 10 and a striker and so all available players will be linked. Robbie will have top targets he's going for and they could well be names that haven't been mentioned yet.

He is a decent CB, played a big part in Genoa's success last season. I would put Van Dijk marginally ahead of him, but the 3.5m quoted for De Maio would likely be preferable for us.

The fact De Maio has Seria A experience in my eyes makes him less likely to flop.
