All the people that say everton are gettting took over it is just peole that make it up too get our hopes up! {Ed025's Note - i think your right mate..

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Its true i know the investors, this is a 100% fact !

Agree0 Disagree0

It might not be a takeover, it could be that someone is buying, for example, Robert Earl's shares and is just investing in the club.

Agree1 Disagree0

Then why nothing from the club ?
You know they cant hold their own piss when it comes to good news !!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Where are people getting all these takeover rumours from and how do people know that Robert earl is selling his shares in the club?

Believable5 Unbelievable6

It has been confirmed that 4 members of our executive committee are stepping down. its generally assumed that they would look at selling their shares on. Not sure how people have put this together with Earle moving on, but seems to be a lot of different rumours circling which are fitting together. still not believing anything until something official though.

Like to see John guidetti come to us on loan good young player who can bag goals! Back up for jellyman

Believable11 Unbelievable10

He is on Liverpool radar for a buy, unfortunately... - Sky Sports

- Cosmin -

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally would be surprised to see him go to sit on the bench behind Naismith and Jelavic. Besides, where would that leave the likes of Gueye, McAleny, Anichebe and Vellios?

Moyes seems to prefer the chance of giving the Everton youngsters a chance to shine, rather than develop a rival clubs youth for them.

If a takeover is just " hot air " why have people been in detailed disscusions with peel holdings, and the local council over the site for a new ground, strange as the present ownership keep saying there is not enough cash to pay the tea lady ? {Ed025's Note - who says there have been detailed discussions??

Believable12 Unbelievable9

I emailed the club yesterday asking, "Why isn't the pre-season friendly against AEK Athens live on EvertonTV
like the other matches?"
The reply received today stated, "This was a decision taken following discussions between the Club and the testimonial committee. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause."
Any thoughts anyone?
Cowpat Sid

Believable11 Unbelievable6

It's about bums on seat's, not really to line Hibbo's pockets as a lot is ear marked for charity. But more, i believe, to get the taste back for the fans and for the players too.

Mike aintree

Agree0 Disagree0

Its because tony is giving the money to charity. So if it is not on everton tv more people will go. Mad john

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see the thought behind it, being a testimonial they want as many to attend as can. On the other as I for one just can not get there, so I would have been happy to pay to watch it online, even if it were double what they have charged for other pre-season games as it's for Hibbo. Maybe it is a case of cutting off their nose to spite their face kind of thing.

WtG.

Agree1 Disagree0

The money is going to two good charities. Buy a ticket!

Agree1 Disagree0

Only 10,009 sold by this morning.

Agree1 Disagree0

Its to try to get the vultures to the match instead of looking for live streams on the internet, thus less money going to charity

blue bones

Agree1 Disagree0

I understand the charity thing and I do see where they're coming from if this is the reason. However, why didn't they just say that to Sid in their reply? The answer they gave doesn't give a reason. If there are people who can't get to the game like WtG, and they want to pay to watch it online, let them, but give that money to charity too. Problem solved. They'll be losing money for charity by not putting it on Everton TV! It's Hibbo for crying out loud! Even the R/S should be paying to watch it!!

Wizard of Osman

Agree0 Disagree0

If they did it as pay per view on live stream then they would make more for the charities, as us vultures who work and are unable to get to it pay to watch it, thus more money going to charity.

WtG.

Agree1 Disagree0

The club have sad nothing untoward, they don't need to give a detailed response again people trying to complain about nothing.

Agree0 Disagree1

Also club wanted to charge £10 commitee said £15.

Agree0 Disagree0

"I would have been happy to pay to watch it online"
Generous intentions WtG, but whilst you may be happy with that, others would not have been quite so noble. If you want to help Hibbert's efforts, donate a few quid towards Claire House Children's Hospice and Rainbow Trust.
Alternatively, as others have said - buy a ticket for Hibbo. I heard he might even score...

(Apologies if this comes across as advertising Eds - I felt given the money is going towards a good cause...) {Ed025's Note - thats fine mate..

Agree1 Disagree0

Its being broadcast on Nova tv live so there will be feeds that are free around at usual places.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not that it is any of your business anonymous poster, but for the record I have been happy to support this event, buying tickets for the wife, kids and nephew to go, but the fact remains being stuck over the other side of the Country over night with work I can not attend and would have liked to have seen it myself thus would have paid whatever amount to do so, as I am sure others would.

Fact is had it been streamed by the club a lot of people would have paid and that money would have gone to the charity, by not doing so, those unable to get there for whatever reason can not, that is lost revenue.

I'd like Moyes to have a look at Sebastian Boenisch, the polish left back.

He's on a free, looked decent at the euro's and could provide some much needed back-up for Baines. We've been very lucky with Baines and suspensions and injuries, but one lengthy lay-off and we could struggle with someone filling in

Believable12 Unbelievable6

I'll be amazed if Baines is our left-back at the start of the season . There will be a lat minute deal done so it would appear we didn't have time for reinforcements . I can see player as part of the deal to soften the blow . {Ed051's Note - He is going nowhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Then prepare to be amazed he's not going anywhere.

WtG.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he goes, he goes but here's hoping he doesn't. Moyes won't let him go on the cheap and I don't think we'll let him go unless he states that he wants to go.

I just think we need a bit more back-up for Baines, he plays an awful lot of games during a season and like I said we have been lucky with him not missing games through suspension or injury. Jase

Agree1 Disagree0

Luke Garbutt is ample cover for Baines, I'd prefer to see British players getting a try out instead of European cast offs on a free
Dave M

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure Baines will be here at the start if the season. As much as the board might do it and say there's no time to buy anyone else, I don't think Moyes can deal with it anymore. If it was the case, and I'm 99.9% certain that it won't be, I'd like Moyes to resign to show the board that it's too much for him, in vain hope it will yeah them a lesson. Anyway, as stated before, I'd be amazed if it happened this time.

If we sell big Vic to Wigan after they sell Moses, who would you like to see replace him? I personally think 4mil on Rhodes isnt a bad price...he is young and Moyes can help him develop. Discuss

Believable14 Unbelievable7

Id buy rhodes hes class

Agree0 Disagree0

I live in west yorkshire and have been to see him a few times. Would not fit into our system. He is not a Moyes player. Look past the goals. How will he compliment Jelavic? Lazy lazy rumour.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree, Rhodes looks decent; but I would like to see how he does in the championship first before he makes the step up to the Prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

Discuss? If you suggest £4m with Huddersfield it will not be discuss, but "clear off", or something similar.

If you double the figure, you may get close to the level they say is the trigger point where they MAY enter discussions. I suspect there will be the "wise" ones who say thats a silly figure-but with Huddersfield not wanting to sell, the player content (currently) to stay and a number of other clubs interested in the player, why do you think Everton would be offered a 50% discount?

Agree0 Disagree0

The lad is a natural finisher in the Owen mould. When you can do that a top manager like Moyes will find a way to exploit it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd spend the money on defo

Agree0 Disagree0

Rhodes was great in league 1, but it's a massive step up. Since £4m wouldn't get half of him, he isn't worth the risk. But we can't afford him anyway and selling Vic won't change that.

Agree1 Disagree0

I live in stoke and im a bluenose hearing pennants on his way out worth a shot pienaar n pennant in wings

Agree0 Disagree0

Rhodes is worth a "punt" he's nowhere near established enough to command 4 million never mind 8 million. Maybe a structured deal with add ons if he for-fills huddersfields expectations but nothing more than 2 million down surely?

supposedly man city want to loan out john guidetti to an english side. would be a good shout at everton, though i doubt they'd do it.

would you all take him?

Believable9 Unbelievable12

The young lad was brilliant in Holland last season, reckon would be a very good shout for a back up for Jelavic, generally don't like getting youngsters on loan because I don't want to develop other teams players, but I think he could really help us this season for a European push.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he looks like he'll have a big future in England. Only positive about taking a player like john guidetti on loan is that he's not guaranteed to make the grade at City. If he falls in love with EFC like most do then we may end up getting him in the future

Leon EFC

1st reply - my thoughts exactly!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland have already agread a deal with Man City according to this site. He is a good player though, just looked him up on the net. Shame we couldn't get him on loan.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would we develop other teams youth? Our own don't even get game time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry I really doubt anichibe or velios are anything on Guidetti yet. I like loooks of that velios, alot, but i don't think competition is ever a bad thing. lack of competition for places is probably the reason weve just come short of europe and cup wins etc

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree totally with last post deelope our own players

Matt Phillips did not play on against us
the other day because he played part in a
game the night before. Me brother was speaking
to one of the coaches who he plays footy
with and he said they was thinking of playing him but they never cause Moyes likes him and didnt want him to impress him more. This is really true.

TonyEFC

Believable5 Unbelievable15

Highly doubt it, Moyes is an astute manager when it comes to transfers, he already knows who matt Phillips is, as he has scouted Phillips and Tom Ince on numerous occasions last season. Don't think Moyes would be too influenced by one preseason game.

Agree1 Disagree1

He also came on as sub, so that theory is wrong.

Agree1 Disagree0

So you think Moyes just crawls into a cave after the match? even if he didn't come on which he did Moyes could have just went to the next game to watch him, or are you assuming Blackpool aren't planning on starting Phillips until the window closes?

Stories all over Scotland that Everton are ready to bid £4 million for Samaras from Celtic. Moyes spoke to him while you were up here for pre-season.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

I wouldn't pay 4p for him, not EFC quality I'm afraid

If this is true I will cut my season ticket up this guy is the worse of the worst! Moyes would not go for a player that bad! {Ed025's Note - even the celtic ed thinks that...so one to avoid me thinks..

Agree1 Disagree0

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

Anichebe is Messi compared to that guy.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would we bother with a player who couldn't cut it in the EPL and has difficulties in SPL.... There's a minute of my life I'll never get back!! {Ed042's Note - Heres another 30 seconds, nice to meet you.

Agree1 Disagree1

As an everton fan living in Scotland I'm pleased to say that not one paper or news channel has mentioned this..... RS alert me thinks...
Blue Andy {Ed051's Note - Most probably

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I the only person in the world who likes Samaras? He is a skilful striker and doesn't lose the ball very often, that said he doesn't score many goals and 4m is a bit optimistic - I think he's more suited to Serie A than the premier league {Ed007's Note - He doesn't play as a striker any more, he plays out on the left. On his day he is unplayable but his days are few and far between although he showed a massive improvement last season. I've not heard anything about Everton being interested but if you bid £4 million I would take your hand off.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Good one but it's August 6th not April 1st!

Actually i don't think he is as bad as some have said but he isn't going to get in before Jelavic or, dare i say it, Big Vic. Samaras had his chance and his day with city, he is at a level good for him as his career winds down.

Mike aintree

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes crap iam glad you dont scout for us

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras wouldnt get in our sunday side, nowhere near good enough for us {Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Really hope not, he's dogs***.

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras is the worst player celtic have got. if he is worth 4 million then davie weir must be worth 8 million, because he had samaras in his pocket every old firm game. and davie is twice his age. go for jordan roades. that would be money well spent. im a true rangers fan, hope your team do well next season, all the best
