I see media linking Honda with us again in his prime now could be no 10 I like him top player but Italian league was bad move for him if you look at Japan they play quick football, could be a bargain as would not of thought it would cost much, what you think about him "Ed"

Believable5 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i really like him metz, i thought we missed a trick with him last time mate, and i would still have him..

06 Aug 2015 16:34:50
As I'm sure many posters have pointed out previously, isn't it strange that 10 years ago we brought in a Ferrari (defender Matteo Ferrari on loan from Roma) and now we're only talking about bringing in a Honda? Come to think of it, we dodged a bullet when we were supposedly interested in (David) Bentley a few years back! Come on fellow posters - let's have a few more car-related names that have graced Goodison Park in the royal blue.

Just seen that Jimmy Mac and mirallas will sign new deals with the club! You heard anything ed, cheers

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i hear they are both in discussions smeg, but nothing actually signed yet mate..

06 Aug 2015 13:55:43
At the risk of reacting to media gossip before any official confirmation, I'd say that the club spending its money on extended contracts for our better players is good news - not least because we know what these players can do (especially when they're at the top of their game and their head's right - i.e. Mirallas - or when they're injury-free - i.e. McCarthy) whereas any incoming player - no matter how well scouted - always has an element of risk.

Its the daily mail who normally slag us but if so this could lift some of the doom and gloom!

Anybody else getting bored of one's for the future when we need players now. These future players better get us back into the prem after martinez sends us were he sent Wigan. Worrying times kenwright out!

Agree4 Disagree6

06 Aug 2015 12:14:13
Again why don't you have some patience surely the extended contracts for McCarthy and Mirallas can only be good news. Keeping Stones another good result we will get the 3 other signings. And by the way lay off Bill Kenwright

06 Aug 2015 11:16:13
Then we are out

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Stoke have been putting a lot of effort in with Inter in respect of Shaqiri, but have moved on due to the time taken to reach any sort of agreement. Schalke had an offer accepted but the player declined the move, although it is anticipated that they will seek further talks. Newcastle, Everton and RB Salzburg have enquired after the player - but none have thus far put an offer on the table.}

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i ask my bird that every week mate.. :)

06 Aug 2015 07:52:02
Where did you get that data from mate, a poster updated on this yesterday stating that with effect from 2 seasons ago all transfers must be paid in full within 12 months of the signature hitting the contract

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Unless something passed me bu, that was a Dave Whelan proposal from 5 or 6 years ago that was overtaken by events to some extent. When buying from lower tier sides payment does need to be made within a one year period. A vote by clubs rejected it for the EPL and there is still a proposal to include a two year rule in the EPL FFP - but there are still issues over the disparity with the UEFA rules as clubs could be compliant in the EPL but still punished by UEFA (Hull for example). That has left the EPL FFP still up in the air and as far as I know this rule was never ratified. If I remember to, I will check.}

06 Aug 2015 12:53:44
As always Ed2 you knowledge is much appreciated, clears that up but not good news for us Blues as means we still owe Chelsea shed loads mate

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i passed your post onto ED002 degs as he is the main man when it comes to this sort of thing mate..
