Did anybody else notice BK mention that player (s) that have buyout clauses could go but others are staying.

Does this mean Fellaini is defiantly going? Seems like it to me.

SatBlue

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Pretty sure Bk said he wanted them all to stay. His intention is to break into the top 4 and by publically making that declaration I am hoping bk and the board are going to make as big an investment they can to do that. I don't think he would make such a statement without offering as much backing as he could. plus BK did emphasize that the players are the club. so why sell felli. unless he just wants to go of course. If that's the case there is little they can do, but I am pretty sure 20+ million we get for him would go straight back into the side. jlaff

Agree0 Disagree0

No, what bit didn't you understand when he said nobody had asked to leave?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree mate. I think kenwright seemed pretty much resigned to lodging him
BluenoseTommy {Ed003's Note - how much board a week though?}

Agree0 Disagree0

No, he was saying that no one is for sale, it just that he can't do anything about Fellaini being sold if they meet the release fee. He wasn't saying he was definitely going, just that he's the one who he can't prevent. Fellaini himself has made a few statements recently which have lead most people to believe he actually wants to stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the fuk Kenwright chose to mention it at all is mystery. He is the master of gloss and rubbish. Why did he deliberately drop a huge bollock like that? Total muppet!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we can afford to let Fellaini go if his 23m buyout is met, as long as the 23m plus what ever is in the kitty is combine and reinvested in the team. Maybe get rid of Heitinga 3m Naismith 2m and Gueye out on loan again. So I would expect some where between 40m-50m as a petty good war chest to have a go. Its vital we keep Baines, without doubt best left back Britian.

Why did Kenwright put so much pressure on Martinez?? {Ed025's Note - it what way exactly?..

Believable3 Unbelievable8

RM was the one that apparently has said we are getting in the Champions League next year so over to him. its all nonsense, the press conference was a joke as well! Liked the question where the journalist asked, "why did you feel not equipped to lead Wigan back to the premier league but feel you can take on the Everton job?" that was a classic!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bill said that if Roberto doesn't win the league next season ed, then he will fire him and horsewhip him through the streets of Liverpool. No excuses.

Mike {Ed003's Note - sounds a good enough reason to me}

Agree0 Disagree0

By saying champions league football.

Agree0 Disagree0

He kind of, jokingly, said that he expects europe next season. I don't think he was purposefully putting pressure on him, I think he was just messing about a bit and trying to make the fans see the appointment in a more optimistic manner.

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's what Martinez has genuinely said to Bill (about him getting us into the champions league) then why not let the world know?! If he's going to talk the talk, then let's see him walk the walk! If he fails, then he just looks deluded, or arrogant!

Blue Dazzle

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, if he doesn't get us to the champions league he will constantly reminded of it in the press.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is pressure!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally forgot of course that 50,000 Evertonians would've have agreed with the appointment had they been in the meetings?? Not convincing is it really, and to give him 4 years? that's going to cost the club when we have to buy the remaining 2 years back off him

Agree0 Disagree0

What else could roberto say? we finished in 6th, when moyes took over we were close to relegation and moyes said to Bk I will keep the club up! stop with the negativety, martinez is our manager and we need to get behind the 'new' greatest little spainard we know

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people never happy talkin players leaving ffs have to buy two years of his contract back give him a couple of games first u might be wishing it was a bigger contract you might be sayin how did he sign him how did he discover him and such
You turn this sight miserable at times
DUFFY

he didn't put pressure on him he repeated what Martinez said to him, I for one am happy we have a manager who has ambition, what do people want him to say" oh i'll be happy to finish in the top ten" let's hope we can do it after all if jelivic had not had such a bad season and we had won a few more of the drawn games we would have been right in there

Agree0 Disagree0

It's the PL title or bust! just getting into the champions league is a Wengerish cop out

Jawannatoffee

Agree0 Disagree0

He didn't say he would get us in the champions league this season, he'd just get us there. He could have been thinking 4 years down the line, and I suspect he was.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez wanted job. But Kenwright didn't have to say it

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2013 22:12:16
Any idea when RM could make a new signing Ed? I'm guessing he'd want to do it before July to ensure they're ready for pre season? {Ed025's Note - im sure he has targets, but most players are still on holiday, i think it will be a couple of weeks mate..

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Said it before think he should be able to get Scharner in so all good

Agree0 Disagree0

I liked how they asked at the press conference "are you bringing your own staff?" reply "no, I want to meet all of the people at Everton and the back room staff, but I will be bringing all of the staff from Wigan". great, so does that mean we lose the likes of Kevin Sheedy, Duncan Ferguson, David Weir, Alan Stubbs, Andy Holden and so on and replace them with a load of coaches plus others that just got relegated? thoughts?

Agree0 Disagree0

No, we will still have dunc, weir, stubbs etc, it is more the number 2 and people who sit on the bench that he is bringing with him

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt he will make a signing before july because he officially take over 1st july

Agree0 Disagree0

He has already officially taken over, that's what the press conference was far! Where the hell did you get 1st July from?!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2013 21:47:23
Everton are in talks with De Guzman's agent about a possible move.

Believable11 Unbelievable16

Is this the Swansea one?

Agree0 Disagree0

With villareal promoted his price will have risen but would still be a great signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a fantastic signing!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, with hindsight, do you reckon the delay in the announcement was due to BK and RM performing a full assessment/plan of/for the next 4 years, i. e. players needed etc. or more down to details regarding his contract? jlaff {Ed025's Note - the amount for players mate..

Believable5 Unbelievable2

No, I don't mate. Just think it was another load of nonsense bit like the appointment of a relegated manager, who has got the job by saying "I will get you into the Champions League". I could've said that and like Champ manager did I have a shout? He is already deluded! First 5 matches will be interesting, with what's left of the back room and playing staff. Reckon if BK has any sense and its going wrong he'll be gone by January.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I'm thinking that thre would be an unusual kitty for EFC. surely BK would not intentionally embarrass him, us or the club by saying he want CL but then not spending. whadya reckon. are we going to see big push by efc standards? Jlaff {Ed003's Note - When you say unusual do you mean; http://tinyurl.com/kh27pn2}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be stunned if we outspent any top half side this summer, excluding money from selling players. Ed, I see you like listverse too.

What about denihlson from arsenal anyone rate him?sorry about spelling.

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Rather give ludstrum a go

Agree0 Disagree0

He's ok

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks, not good enough for Arsenal, where do you see him playing in our team?

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was on the same wage as Hitzlsperger then why not?

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2013 17:29:05
Apparently RM first signing is going to be Requelme!

IMWT
Kurajan

Believable8 Unbelievable14

He's 34. We need some young blood need to get rid of Howard, Distan, Peanut and Osman. Looking forward to seeing who we get in, GOOD LUCK Roberto and welcome to EVERTON F. C

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance now unfortunately, he was always a Moyes target and I've heard from an inside source at united that he is due to have talks with them early next week!

Another missed opportunity, Kenwright out :)

SydneyBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

He's to old at 34

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that 35 in 2 weeks riquelme, if so rubbish mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's from Argentina also he's an attaken midfielder and he's 33

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid of Peanuts and Distan are you serious. has to be a joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

I appreciated the sarcasm kursjn, don't think everyone got it haha!
Molly888

Agree0 Disagree0

The first Riquelme shout of the summer! Everyone seems to think we'll go for Mcarthy, I can't see it personally, centre mid is one of our strongest positions if Fellaini stays, add Gibson, Barkley Osman and perhaps Francisco to that and I think the priorities are elsewhere, pienaar is getting on but he's never had pace to burn so think he will go on for a while yet, we've not really seen enough of Oviedo to make a judgment, I think maybe Moyes seen him as a left sided utility player and nothing more. Mcmanaman I would have but only if he was 5 million or less, he only had a handful of standout games in the Cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he means the young lad who was released by arsenal with arshavin! Any takers?

Wrighty

Agree0 Disagree0

This won't happen a 34 year doesn't fit the mold

Agree0 Disagree0

! Class Kurajan. Chill out guys, he's taking the piss, but that is the 1st riquelme shout of the summer, I heard he's due to land in Manchester airport next week in a swap deal for nani and rooney and Ashley young, and tom cleverly and Anderson all going the other way. that's how much Moyes rates him and wants him!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2013 22:29:05

Kurajan

Agree0 Disagree0

OP this made my day! I heard moyes only took the utd job on the basis he was the 1 marquee signing!
Spekeblue

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand mate, good crack. but actually when you think that our transfer targets are likely to be Di Santo, Maloney, Scharner and Boyce your are probably not far off with it!

Love our club and will always support the club but not felt like this since the day Johnson sold Duncan behind Walter Smiths back, just feel cheated somehow by this joke of an appointment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenwright said in the conference that he will give martinez some cash for a 'fea' new players. But more shall be coming in if players are sold

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I think Felli will go which will give RM some extra cash to send, IF we sell Baines let's at least get what he's worth which should start at £25 Mill when you see how much some defenders have been sold for. IMWT

thats funny, kenwright said no body has mentioned moving, Roberto and kenwright want the players all to stay.

No he didnt, he said nobody will be sold

He said no1 is going and Barnes said he wanted Martinez so why would he leave and felli said his destiny is everton

Believable15 Unbelievable6

Thank god that's over. COYB!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done Everton you've secured a manager who will keep your team in the relegation zone all season

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on martinez ben pauls

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah, I'm sure we will improve, best worry about your own team mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bad bad bad bad, bill leave now, stop hanging on you bad bad man {Ed025's Note - support your club, and stop friggin moaning!..

Agree0 Disagree0

People forget that he took Swansea from league one to the prem and kept them there, what short memories people have. Let him actually manage a season before passing judgement. So called Evertonians get behind your team and give the man your support!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Ed! Get behind Roberto and Bill, we'll be fine! Roll on the new season! Bluenosedalien

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridiculous, I for one cannot wait to get back into my seat next season. I don't understand how people can see this as a bad move, get a grip we were never going to get Mourhino type managers, Rankjnic already closed the door on a move, and Piereira is expected no to lose, just like Celtic in a crap league. FFS people, you call yourselves Evertonians, move on if you're not happy!

Agree0 Disagree0

At least it's announced. Good luck Martinez. Fully behind you

Agree0 Disagree0

Poeple need to give him a chance before shooting him down, who else were you expecting I mean there's not a queue of world class (supposively) managers just sitting round, the guy plays good football and I can't wait for the season to begin

MikeDeBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one am very excited, true blues will feel the same, let's hope we keep our current squad and add two or 3 players. Any doubters can look at what the wigan players had to say about RM. COYB!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a grand old team to play for.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I ain't moaning, I'm disappointed! I hope he proves me wrong but what's wrong with wanting more? We've settled for bill for years, he's hanging on, don't get me wrong we owe him major, I mean we owe him major but he's done all he can, and proved it again

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Oh god help us.
Bluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it true Bill pulled out all the stops and put him up in the Formule 1 opposite the Albert dock?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't he have a house somewhere near Wigan he wouldn't need to be in a hotel it's only an hours drive

Agree0 Disagree0

Lad you also said were about to announce Martinez in 10 to 15 mins. that was like 4 hours ago everything you say is utter rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Were does he live Wigan is only 20 mins didn't need a hotel I can see this manage doing my head in

Agree0 Disagree0

Should have locked him in his room and hidden the key.

By the way, he lives in Parbold and rumour is his house went up for sale a day or two after the season finished.

05 Jun 2013 11:24:14
tv reporting its likely a news conference will held this afternoon.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a lot of crap strange how he said his keen on joining Everton a coupe of days ago and his kept in touch with them plus he wants to come to the premiership

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are people disagreeing? It's a fact FC Twente have confirmed its close.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get used to it lads, here we go onto our slippery road.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does that mean Fellini is staying

05 Jun 2013 14:57:36
I think there's been some mistranslation. According to this: http://tinyurl.com/kfru9n4

Believable2 Unbelievable12

I know Moyes was interested in January but I don't know if Roberto would want him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets wait until the new manager is in place first then we will see who he wants

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't reckon he will try and bring in older players. I think he will try to build for future! why try to buy average has beens?
Bluenose Will.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bacsuse we only have money for average has beens

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on John! let's try and be a bit more upbeat eh! We've got a new manager, ready for playing attacking football and course there is some money available. Maybe not tens of millions but there will be something substantial. COME ON ROBERTO!!! Bluenose Will

Marouane Fellaini is on a shortlist of targets for Rafa Benitez at Napoli.

Believable10 Unbelievable12

Anyone know if we will get money for Moyes' back room staff- Steve Round, Jimmy Lumsden, etc?! Or have we rolled over for Utd?!

Believable9 Unbelievable3

If they were in contract and they go, they will be subject to buying out or man u paying compensation.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

05 Jun 2013 03:04:22
Work in the media (though not football journalism). I have heard that the Martinez deal has stalled, though not yet dropped, over the amount of transfer money promised to him for acquiring new players. Apparently, the bank want the majority, if not all, the increased TV revenue and that Kenwright is struggling to negotiate with them to get at least some of it to fund transfers.

Believable11 Unbelievable17

05 Jun 2013 07:17:29
We will see today then eh as I have it under good authority that it will definitely be announced today

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see the bank doing that. loans are like a morgtage done over time. the bank wouldn't say to you 10 years into a 25 year mortgage pay it all up now

Agree0 Disagree0

Of many of the rumours I read on this site this is one I have envisaged and was worried about. The banks are struggling and worried and I doubt they want to take a risk on a new manager. No, I am not a koppite, or loon just a realist. We have debts and lots of money will be coming in. to the club. I doubt the banks will want it all though as the debt is structured.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is b*ll*cks, banks just don't ask for money when you have agreed repayment methods in place! You think we lent it off some loan shark off county road!

Agree0 Disagree0

Eds can't you do something about posts like this? We have structured repayments on the clubs debt that work just like any other loan. The banks can't and won't demand increased payments just because our income has increased.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did you hear this Degsy mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that's wrong. Don't you know how loans work? We're paying in a sum of money each month. The bank will be satisfied with that. We aren't reducing our debt; simply paying interest to maintain it at the level it is at, be that £40m, £50m or whatever.

The bank won't suddenly demand the best part of £15m which would reduce the debt (and thus, interest paid) when they're getting a steady, safe, and for the foreseeable future, unlimited flow of money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Loans are structured. But overdrafts are not, bk uses the o/d to balance the books each year and the banks are allowed to a withdraw an o/d at any time

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing is do we owe on an overdraft or are we on interest only repayment terms or interest and capital repayment terms on the loans. These are all questions that people don't know the answer to and therefore we don't know what the bank can demand from everton
To be honest the way bill and his board run the club it wouldn't suprise me if the next manager had maybe £5m to spend max
Cheeks

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but I work in corporate structured finance and its nothing like personal finance. The bank can request their money back anytime they want. There is an annual review of any money lent. Overdrafts can be withdrawn or reduced. Generally there has to be just cause but if the bank feel the risk is too high and see capital coming in they can request the money back or start going after certain guarantees when the credit was sanctioned.

I'm not saying this is true, just that it could be, it's not the same as you getting a personal loan or mortgage.

My dad works for bannatynes gym (that n*b off the dragons den) and the club in skelmersdale is where leon osman works out in the summer (off season) osman's missus is a full time member. No sure how true this statement is so don't bite my head off but apparently moyes approached Jags and Baines asking if they where intersted in joining him at Man U, and Osman's missus said that the both of them said they want to stay at Everton.
Of all the rumours I have heard this year, this one got me the most excited.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

That's known as tapping up! And Moyes always conduct business in a appropriate manner! Or so he says, but still even he will know that's against the rules and if its out that much he would soon be found out.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would imagine Ossies on a fair whack a week and would not need to take a "summer job"?

Agree0 Disagree0

He never said she worked there. He said Ossie 'worked out' there. You know, because its a gym. His 'Missus' just has a membership.
