He allways did talk crap, he also tried to take credit for Tom Davies, he never played him.

I don't want to knock RM. I did enough of that when he was our manager. he is nothing to do with us now. I would just like to know what the stats are for defending set pieces. Gut feel tells me we have conceded very few since we started defending them in training. Apparently RM stated that we never practiced set pieces under his reign. could that be a reason? Just a thought.

Why even bother listening to him? He talked rubbiish while he was here. He's still talking talking rubbiish. I wouldn't pay attention to a word he says. He's sour that we are doing much better after he is gone.

I still get a little nervy on set pieces Degsy and if we get to CL this season that will be our downfall. I know we have improved a lot but we are still behind the top teams. Got lots to learn still.

100% agree mate.

Martinez is worried about Everton defensively. Denser than lead weight. Amazed he has gaul to comment.

Cheeky, especially as how someone at the Club was daft enough to write a 10 mill compensation into his contract and even offer him a contract extension based on one seasons results. Can't see this happening again under Moshri.

Yeah his comments had the feeling of sour grapes to me.

Nobody actually wrote a £10m compensation payout into his contract. £10m was what he would have been paid had he completed his contract. The club fired him so had to pay it. Still a disgrace like!

Martinez the fool saying our defence is still crap, but we have the 4th best defence in the league, the muppet.

You know in Barkley we may just have the best English midfielder in the league. Every game he gets better and better. His goal today was simply wonderful, and I have watched it at least eight times now.

It sums up how all Everton supporters feel right now. Think we all had our arms raised before the ball actually hit the net.
Haven't felt like this for twenty odd years. 😂.

unfortunately we have some fans who can't wait for him to make a mistake which is really sad we need to support him as Ross is a confidence player.

Although some may feel he was harsh on Barkley but I feel the heavy constructive criticism that Koeman gave him at the start of the season has done him the world of good.

He is good but not in the same class as Tom Davies who will be much better than Barclay.

agree Bluey79. But then you get rubbish like this. Barkley been doing it for years, Davies just starting out. What a stupid statement.

Have always defended Barkley on here, at one point I thought the boo boys might drive him away.

He is a confidence player, we applaud when he does something magic, we should back the lad for trying and if it doesn't come off don't scream at the guy or he will never learn.

Said previously he has come on even better since Davies come into the team, whether that's down to pressure and expections being lifted who knows, but he is one we need to tie down and get behind.

{Ed025's Note - his improvement is down to koeman baz, his progress had stalled and he was feeling sorry for himself but a swift kick up the arse from ronnie has got him firing on all cylinders again and im made up for the lad mate..

In no way am I grumbling about the club, but honestly believe that, in the summer, we keep what we've got right now, sell our senior loans, if we could get a gk, maybe TWO youngish cb, a wide man and striker (and maybe a fullback either side as cover) we are almost there.

That's 7 players (in my opinion) to complete our squad and we are a serious threat again. So very proud to be a blue, really heading in the right direction. (Not getting the rubbish of my mates any more. Haha) Can't see how anyone at the moment can grumble about anything about our club at the minute. UP THE TOFFEES!

I think it's clear that we need at least one quality, relatively young centre back. We at least need cover for Baines, assuming that Holgate is our cover for Coleman and Galloway is going to be utilised properly as a centre back. Another wide man is a must, and we could do with one striker as we have Mirallas/ Lookman/ Calvert-Lewin as cover for Lukaku if necessary. 4 players seems more reasonable.

I'm probably going to be slated for this but I actually think that Joel could end up being a number one for us. He's only 26, so won't peak for another 5-7 years, and has been impressive every time he's been given an opportunity, save for a shaky first couple of games. He's been great the past month or so, and will only improve with more game time. Might save us £20-30m on a new keeper if we stick with him.

There's certainly something there with Robles BT and you're right, he is young and will improve. What I like is the fact that it doesn't matter to Koeman whether it's his signing or a previous managers one, as in the case of Robles, if your playing well your in. Even if that is at the expense of one of his own signings.

This manager will do what it takes to win.

Have to agree blue tommy, Robles may be a very good goalkeeper in the making let's decide at the end of the season.
