yet another cast off beano. He's just an average winger who didn't make it at Arsenal after many chances. Seen plenty of him watching Spanish La Liga every week,he's ok in Spain but no good here as he doesn't come back and defend when he loses the ball. Everton should be aiming for better players

any truth in these newspapers shaqiri move?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i would love to say yes lanny, but at this juncture i cant mate..

05 Aug 2015 22:00:05
Shaqiri rumours keep popping up ed? How true are they? Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - only the top brass would be privvy to that information smeg, we have been linked with him before mate but nothing came of it, i would doubt this attempt would be any different..

05 Aug 2015 23:01:02
This is a typical deadline day deal. He won't play his hand until he's forced to, that will be last minute to keep his options open.

So I wouldn't be surprised if we do sign him last minute on a loan with a view to buy.

Getting depressed now when u listen to ssn or transfer news and get nothing on Everton, and we have injuries, do we really have to rely on if, Stones goes, something not right at our club, do we have any targets, 3 days till kick off, COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it seems like our targets may be loans mogs.. :(

06 Aug 2015 07:53:38
I always look at the regional papers section too Mogs, you would swear there was only one football club in the greatest city on earth

We are linked with a Greek international, christoloudopolous or something like that. Would cost a bomb if you wanted his name on your new shirt! Any knowledge on him anybody?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - nothing on christodoulopolus this end lant..

05 Aug 2015 21:10:57
Never heard of him.
Tried to look him up.
Couldn't spell him.
Eventually found him.
Said he was a midfielder.
Not a prolific scorer.
Probably has hamstring issues.
Should fit in well.

The first part of his name sounds promising.Christ. the last fella with a name like that could turn water into wine and fed the multitudes with fishes and bread. now He was a MIRACLE worker! That's just what we need about now I'd say Tedster.wouldn't you?

Ed do you know whether its true that we still owe Chelsea 13 million for Lukaku, someone just told me in work, may be garbage but if you know anything then please enlighten me

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we do still owe them money for him degsy, how much i dont know, but 95% of transfers are conducted in this way mate, not many just pay upfront anymore, its all done on the drip..

05 Aug 2015 18:57:56
What ever we owe chelski boys will be well paid off posted this last week but never got put up. The reason it will be paid off is any transfers between two premier league clubs must be settled within 12 mth of signing a player. This rule has been out 2 seasons now it's not exactly a new on hopefully this gets posted and everyone now understands we owe chelski nowt.

That explains why we have no funds then last season's purchase out of this seasons kitty

To be fair Liam the club said it used the felaini money to buy him so what you say makes perfect sense mate.

Payment terms can be/are spread over the duration of a players contract.

This rule was brought in in 2003, and I can't find any changes to it. Also don't see why the EPL would be the only people to have this change?

Happy to be proven wrong though! If you've got a link I'll happily educated myself.

{Ed025's Note - thats how i think it works as well rusty..

Hi eds. Looks like we're shaping up pretty much the same as 2014. We brought in 3 great loan deals that year after (cheating 50m worth of players)!. you think this year could be the same. 3 loans as apposed to the buys? Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we may well go down that route ali, it looks like money is tight (as always) but the better loan deals are usually done late when the top clubs have finished their spending and have players surplus to requirement mate..

05 Aug 2015 19:41:59
with approx £86m from TV money and a net spend so far of £4.5m how on earth we can claim money is tight is beyond comprehension

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im afraid running a club in the premier league is a very costly business cadet, and our board refuse to speculate with money they think will be needed to keep the club afloat in the long term mate, i wish they would take a chance and give us all a lift but im not holding my breath ..

05 Aug 2015 07:25:10
Any new arrivals depend on the departures! It's simple! We're all waiting on Chelsea ( who are playin hardball ) we want £30m plus for Stonesy. Once we are offered that our targets become very different. I reckon there is money available for Martinez, and don't think it's about the boards trust. At current he may for arguments have a kitty of let's say £15m but selling Stonesy or anyone else that could increase dramatically then things change. If Stonesy has said he wants to go, it's just about holding out for top Dollar. Targets will be in place, we just got to be patient! Deadline day going to be mental! Just my opinion guys!

Believable2 Unbelievable6

{Ed025's Note - i can see where your coming from will, imo stones will stay and we will do some business very late on mate...but what the hell do i know..

05 Aug 2015 08:10:22
If he's had his head turned and has let it known he is interested in a move, then I don't see how we can keep him! We already have heard noises this summer about McCarthy and Mirallas. Not sure about you Ed, but I'm getting a bit worried that there seems to be a lot unsettled at the moment and we don't want it spreading anymore!

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - a lot of that is paper talk will, the club has said stones is not for sale, and that we have no need to sell our better players, so im taking them at their word mate..

05 Aug 2015 21:32:57
Didn't the club say rooney wasn't for sale e

05 Aug 2015 00:54:56
Ed's, and transfer news at all?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - not a sausage im afraid lanny, even the rumours seem to have dried up mate..

04 Aug 2015 23:02:18
Martinez now worried he can't stop stones from joining Chelsea if they put £30 mill bid in. Now am I stupid or

1. He is under contract
2. We tell Chelsea he ain't for sale
3 . If he has a price then tell them 50-60 mill.

Is it that hard or am I missing something

05 Aug 2015 07:53:32
I really don't get this transfer business Ed at all chelsea r about to if true offer 30 million for stones whos english age 21/22 wid 10 years at the top ahead of him.So 30 million! yet chelsea sold david luiz for 50 yes 50 million pounds not euros pounds he's the worst defender I've seen at the top level in years clueless brazil vs germany enough said. Then they talk bout 30 million for ferdinand good price but that was years ago 30 million in todays money probably 50 million plus then we have sterling 1 good year and that's because as much as I hate to say it suarez who I have to admit is world class made him look good and that guy at man city mangela ahhhhhh y would EFC settle for crap crap crap money but there probably gonna

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its market forces shogs, chelsea and every man and his dog know that everton need money, so the offer reflects the minimum price that we will sell the family jewels for mate, clubs that dont need to sell can hold out for the maximum price, im afraid its a case of the have,s and have nots which we should be used to being evertonians..

05 Aug 2015 09:19:36
But it's been said many times that we do not need to sell! So if Chelsea do want him then just tell them to offer 50 mill and he can go!

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Aug 2015 16:03:49
I think we'll sell at £30m with add-on's - maybe £5m based on league, champions league, etc. we need to face facts - we are not rich and we're no longer part of the elite. Reinvesting that money, if done well, is better for a club like us. It represents a massive profit and could fund another 2 decent players plus his replacement.

The truth is he's worth nowhere £50m no matter how blue our glasses are; £35m is a decent return
