Hi Ed any idea why Mr Moshiri would buy the Liver Building, would it be purely for office development, cheers GuernseyBlue.

Great investment. Low pound iconic world building right next door to the next major buiding phase of Liverpool Waters and a great view of the new stadium.
Plus his co buyer is a mahor world investment organisation.
Win Win.

As you say it's a win win situation, a world wide renowned building plus two wingers thrown in for 48 million, that's chicken feed to Mr Moshiri :-)

Who has the rights to the Liver Bird logo? Does this mean Liverpool have to give up putting the Liver Bird on their shirts etc. Can we have a Blue Liver Bird on our shirts?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - are you seriously asking this? You could have had a blue liver bird anyway, it is nothing to do with the Liver Buildings.}

06 Apr 2017 08:43:23
It was tongue in cheek Ed. Problem with you Liverpool supporters is that you have no sense of humor.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - problem is we get asked so many stupid questions you can no longer tell what is idiocy and what is tongue in cheek when you do not know the person well who asked. As for sense of humour, you only need one of those when you are the butt of the jokes, and that is the blue half after the weekend not the reds.... ;-)

06 Apr 2017 08:53:18
Lighten up Ed. Most of us are getting too old for this nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - ah right, so it is only ok to make a joke if it is you? Not me who needs to lighten up!}

06 Apr 2017 08:59:38
Yeah but at least we beat Bournemouth at home (6-3 I believe. Hahaha.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - fair point, that was pretty embarrassing last night, still an improvement on losing 4-3 like we did at their place.}

06 Apr 2017 09:02:26
Also ed. If we can't laugh at each other's misfortune and have good banter then we might as well give up. It's what this city is famous for. Turned a little nasty recently and none of us proper fans want that. We all want red and blue side by side, laughing and joking, not fighting down county road. Sadly I think it may never go back to that.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is sad that has gone. I used to love the banter with friends and family. I often wonder how much of that has been lost because of the cost issue? When my dad was a kid, he would go to watch whichever team was at home that week, with his mates, who were mixed reds and blues. When I was a kid it was a case of saving up to go and it was only reserve matches and the like that we would go to see the other half, so to speak, as you could go for free on a borrowed season ticket at that time. Is money destroying our friendly derby too?}

06 Apr 2017 09:10:11
Money destroying all football tbh ed. We love it and we will support our clubs til we die but how many 'working class' people can afford to go matches. When people struggle to put a loaf on the table how can players be justified getting millions per month. It's just become all skewed.
Anyway it is what it is and it will get worse until it eats itself I suppose.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I thought that the other day when I was reading about Antonio getting a new contract at West Ham that earns him more a week than I earnt in the last 3 years! It is losing touch with its roots.}

06 Apr 2017 09:24:29
It's rags to riches for the players. Some coming from nothing to super stardom and millions. It's no wonder some of them lose the plot.
Spectating may well become the preserve of the rich, elitist, especially down London. Us plebs may have to make do with sky and bt. This is another contributing factor behind the increase in kodi and other sites/ devices like them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - if the price of Sky/BT goes up much further most people will no longer be able to afford to watch that either!

What isn't helping is the isolation of players. They are put up on a pedestal and never really interact with normal fans. Clubs always have clauses about doing X amount of community work in players' contracts, but they very rarely, if ever, actually enforce those clauses. About time they enforced them and increased the amount of hours required. Players might appreciate what they have a lot more if they spent more time dealing with the less fortunate of the world.}

06 Apr 2017 09:33:38
Completely agree. Everton are pretty good with that. Coleman, jags and Baines done a lot recently but lukaku and Barkley etc do less in my opinion.
Gone are the days of players walking the ground with fans. Now it's all flash cars amd big houses. I'm not saying they shouldn't earn a great wage. They top at what they do. We've all played football and nowhere near as good as them but there needs to be a line drawn.
Doctors who save lives etc should be paid massive. not someone who can kick a ball for 180 mins a week. Anyway rant over. Off to work for my minimum wage. Oh to dream.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - hopefully you have a good day geoff. I fully agree though, no one begrudges them getting a good wage, it is just that there are others more deserving. Mind it is no different than movie stars and musicians etc who can earn ludicrous sums.}

06 Apr 2017 10:19:16
You are correct Ed, we were terrible agains your team but we did you a favor against that lot down the East Lancs Road. If it had't been for four additional minutes being added on instead of the three it should have been it would have been even better.
Many of us who were born in Liverpool came from what we then described as "mixed marriages". My Father's side was Blue and my Mother's Red. Always good banter when we got together as a family. I often went to Liverpool's games with my cousins and they came with me to watch the Blues. Good banter but never anything nasty. It is still the same with Red supporting friends I keep in touch with but maybe it is our generation?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it was good to see that Speedo Mick was able to fund raise outside Anfield and it was all good natured there. So maybe there is hope for it after all?}

06 Apr 2017 12:24:55
I just have to say you ed's do a great job on this site regardless of which team you support so thanks to all of you.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Mike.}
