I said other week that he has turned some jobs down. Think he has been holding out for us, knowing that Moshiri is a huge fan of his. wouldn't be disappointed if he joined, maybe working with Brands too. I don't think it was down to him that Watford did bad after we pursued him, affected the whole team according to reports.

Can he bring docoure, richarlison and Maguire with him.

I still think there will be more rumours from now till the last game. There's more plot twists at Everton than there are on the soaps at the moment.

I'd have that all day Smit666.

Silva not for me. His record in the Premiership is piss poor. I don't have the answer as to who should take over, which is vital, but not him please.

I think whoever we get there will be people with doubts.
Fonseca - no Premiership experience
Silva - not the best record in the Premiership but with a poor Hull side and a Watford side affected by our interest
Howe - a bit of a Martinez as far as focus on defence
Dyche - A bit of an Allardyce in how he plays sometimes but who gets the Everton philosophy and has developed Burnley into top 7 side
Benitez - could he manage a 'small club' (his words not mine)

Whoever it is ( and please, please let there be change) WE and the board needs to give them the support and the patience we gave Kendall the first time.

{Ed0333's Note - I think Benitez would take the Everton job. Circumstances change, managers and situations change with time. I think he’d be a great fit for you guys. His still has a family home there, he knows the area, he doesn’t need to assimilate, he speaks English better than most English people and he has humongous Premiership experience. He has all the right tools mate, he’s a winner, he improves players without a shadow of a doubt and given some money he could do some real damage. I honestly think Everton fans would accept him as well.

04 May 2018 05:58:45
Personally I'd prefer Dyche but could live with any of the five I named. there would be some Everton fans still anti Benitez because of his comments but I think he could win them over.

From that list of BW2412 I would go with Benitez. He is a known quantity at the level Everton need and ticks a lot of boxes. 2 years ago my answer would have been no because of his reference to Everton being a small club. Did he really mean that or was it just ‘mind games’ at the time being manager of the reds?

I have been trying to not get sucked in to the managerial debate
Regards Benitez I feel his small club jibe was more an in the moment comment and likely not his true thoughts more playing to his current audience at that time
I have doubts over Silva and his mental resolve but then maybe if we are get Brands in he can concentrate on the team and coaching?
Further to if we get Brands in another name I would throw into the mix is Arteta student of Pep now, knows the club and the passion we expect and if Brands is DOF his role would be more of a coaching one.

I'd take Rafa all day if we can't get fonseca. The small club comment was just mind games. He's a class manager. Also agree with St that Arteta may be worth a punt as long as Brands comes in.

you'd think we were Real Madrid, and we can pick and choose any manager we want, has anyone stopped to consider that maybe some have been sounded out and as in recent times top class men won't come, that's probably why SA is confident about next season, oh we'll be ok don't worry, just four or five more top class signings, wonder who they'll be?

We won’t be ok with this brick in charge. Doesn’t matter who we buy his style of football won’t change.

according to Carra before Koeman got the Everton job Rafa had his delegation team begging us for it but bill was having non of it.

I’d definitely accept Benítez Ed.

BW, I honestly think those small club comments were a bit lost in translation. He meant small team as in we weren’t very high up the league at the time and stifled then rather than play football against them. Pure frustration and dummy coming out rather than being facetious imo.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed0333's Note - I’m not being funny when I say this but if you get Benitez it will be a massive coup for you guys. He’s an absolute genius yes your football won’t be heavy metal but what you need is a 3-5 year plan an identity and back to winning football matches consistently and he’ll give you that.

05 May 2018 06:35:10
Just to clarify I never really took much notice about the small club comments. To me, it was a bad attempt at Scouse mickey taking but I know a fair few Blues, Kenwright included who took it seriously. I would prefer Silva but would be more than happy if Benitez got it

ABS, anyone but Sam.

I met Rafa in alder hey hospital and I told him to f#ck off (as in a joke) and he laughed so I asked him to sign my nephews Evertonion mag he put to my biggest fan Dan your mate Rafa he then asked if the £1.99 I paid was for the year ha ha he then made the effort to come back to say bye to me so with that I whipped my trackie top off and got a pic of him with his arms around my Everton top I hate to say it but he was a nice guy who could of took me telling him to f#ck off the wrong way but he never unfortunately he won't be coming to us.

I've been saying we should target Rafa ever since we got rid of Martinez, as the Ed has said he is a winner and has top level experience, we need a manager who is going to get the respect of the players by ways of their success in previous jobs and Rafa has that. He hasn't been given the assurances at Newcastle he wants and we can offer him that. Give him a 5 year deal and let him prepare us for our new stadium by hopefully nurturing a decent team.

Benítez is a good manager, but at Everton he’d only be a couple of poor results/ performances away from the fans turning against him big time. He has way too much Liverpool baggage for way too many Everton fans.

Rumours today that Henry Onyekuru's loan deal is being extended by another season, I was personally looking forward to seeing him in a blue shirt next season, definitely better than Bolasie just don't understand this one.

100% agree with you on this one. He was one of the very few reasons in which we can be showing some optimism for next season.

Looks a cracking player, likely has mistakes in him, but I know for certain I would rather see the lad try some audacious football, fail on occasion but eventually become successful with it!

All we need now is a manager willing to give game time to players like him.

does it have anything to do with his work permit? only thing i can think of.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 May 2018 11:46:31
Maybe a work permit issue?

Agree1 Disagree0

03 May 2018 12:14:08
If he is selected for and plays for Nigeria in the World Cup, then that’d probably sort out the work permit issue.
Probably more a case that he isn’t wanted by Allardyce and he’ll be another young talent (like Lookman) who’ll leave us under this manager and will become a success elsewhere.
How depressing is it - not only watching Everton at present, but also the prospect of it not improving under Allardyce?
Who the **** is running our club? What’s the direction? Why’s there no clarity? Where’s the goddam leadership?

Agree2 Disagree1

03 May 2018 12:15:20
I think he needs to play every game in the world cup to have a chance of qualifying for a permit.
Although you can apply under exceptional circumstances, maybe if we tell whoever makes the decision that Bolasie is our only other player in his position then that would qualify as an exceptional circumstance.

Don't know about anyone else but I am just getting really ****ed off with all the negativity and blame been thrown at SA. Okay so some of you really hate the bloke but why post quite frankly nonsensical statements about how much control he has over every aspect and ruining every thing about EFC. Like others before me and no doubt others in the future I'm taking a break from posting as trying to have a sensible debate on here is at the moment pointless.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - i think there is a lot of negativity sa and that is mainly due to the uncertainty of the managers position, hopefully it will get sorted soon and we can be positive again and look forward to next season mate, my advice would be to just ignore the posts you find irksome rather than not post..

03 May 2018 16:20:27
The question isn’t about how much control SA may or may not have, BUT who is actually in control and making the decisions - ‘cause there’s no unity, clarity, direction or leadership appearing from the heirarchy (FM. BK, etc. ) .

SA90 I don't agree with most of your posts but welcome a different view being expressed. we are probably both blessed with 20/ 20 hindsight and a C- in foresight
Don't stop posting. We are all trying to be objective but see it from different angles.
I hope one day (soon I hope) we will have a manager we can both get behind and be on here with hope in our hearts, not arguing the toss over Big Sam.
