I posted 3 weeks ago Adam Johnson is being sought by Everton. Everton wanted to pay 6-8m in instalments but the league will not allow it as teams must settle up within 12 months, so loan deal is on the cards as Johnson has 2 years left on contract and he could be snapped up for less than quoted.
Negotiations are still in early stages... Fingers crossed my blue brothers and sisters
Believable7
Unbelievable3
But how would we deal with his wages?
Agree0
Disagree0
If the 12 month hurdle was the only issue, this could always be navigated by agreeing an upfront loan fee, with a fixed fee for a full transfer at start of next season and the remaining in instalments over the following 12 months (gives you 2 years essentially).
Doubt this is the real issue. More likely are wages or simply the fact they dont want to sell.
Agree1
Disagree1
Johnson is allegedly on 70k a week. He may take a hit to establish himself international wise and secure first team...
My source is a friend from Sunderland {Ed024's Note - I tend to agree, AJ's wages are a big stumbling block for us as he would immediately be on par with out top earners, I think he is worth it but it may cause some dressing room troubles

Lots of G.Hanley talk. Being a blue I generally apply a filter to most chitter chatter but this strikes me as a typical Moyes type player. I, for one, think it would add steel to the squad. Distin doesn't have long and I believe that if not this season, but some stage, we will cash in on Heitinga as he is a known name in world football and commands some sort of fee. Personally feel we'll get another solid season then should look to move him on..
Believable6
Unbelievable5
Would be a quality player but I think Duffy should be given more of a chance to show him what he can do
Agree0

Heitinga is out of contract next summer and would be available on a free
