Just a couple of snippets from an agent I know, he's mentioned that we've made tentative enquiries about.

Troy Deeney at Watford is on the radar, although I understand Sammy Ameobi is our more serious target.

Don't know a great deal about Deeney but I'd take Ameobi, he's looked a real talent when I've seen him, Newcastle have high hopes for him but apparently he wants regular PL football sooner than they can offer it to him, which is why the move is possible apparently.

{Ed025's Note - but if he cant get in the magpie side gunble, i doubt very much he would be a regular for us mate..

Maybe not while Lukaku is here but we will need someone next season, also Lukaku will need a break at some stage and Jelavic may be on his way this month.

I am somewhat confused by the talk of Ross Barkley going to the Mancs. When Ross played for Moysey didn't he keep him on the bench and surpress his skills. Why then would he want to buy him now. It would be a real waste to even comtemplate selling him now. He is a real diamond exactly what RM has said about him. Moysey has some balls sniffing around his old players, if he liked them so much why did he leave?. In RM we trust.

On the transfer front, Ed is there any interest do you in Shane Long

Believable4 Unbelievable5

{Ed025's Note - its all paper talk roy...they put 2+2 together, and come up with 87, just lazy journalism mate, nothing on long at this time..

Agree with last posting. Shane Long would be an ideal purchase alongside Lukaku or even up front by himself, excellent work rate, good in front of goal, right age, experienced in the EPL

I guess that is one way of looking at it, Royclark. The other way is that Moyes brought him through the youth set up then blooded him into the first team gradually so as not to burn him out. As per Michael Owen who was blooded too much and too young and then never got over hamstring injuries. I know this post will wind a few up, but Moyes seems to be being blamed for everything from global warming to the Russians arresting the Greenpeace campainers. I am sure Moyes had more brains than to try and surpress Barkley's skills and stop a great young player coming through into the Everton team.

I've just watched Martinez response on tv to the rumour of a £50 million bid from Moyes for Barkley. Hilarious, hopefully it will put that rumour to bed, but it wouldn't surprise me if Moyes came in and embarrassed himself again.

Watched that myself Martin, brought a smile to my face. You just can't fail to be impressed with RM every time you hear him talk, such a positive man who seems to radiate positivity. He comes across as the type of person who could make you believe it was dark when it was daylight.

Watched the video too courtesy of the Mail . pure gem of a reply, haven't stopped laughing since listening to it . a must for All Blues Fans to listen to.

If 50 million is the right amount of money and upfront then everton should accept but they have to have the money there so they can then possibly buy 4-5 good squad players perhaps barry permanent and 3 good players to compliment the team or get the 50 million but loan back for rest of season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why accept £50m, it would send out totally the wrong message and prove we have zero ambition. We should be building a team around him for years to come not selling him off for peanuts. If he goes to Brazil and has a good tournament his value will increase, so selling for £50m is incredibly myopic.

Besides, if we sold him now for £50m, other clubs would raise their prices for any replacements. Anyone willing to sell him now for £50m is not seeing the bigger picture, IMO, though Bill may be rubbing his hands with glee at the prospect of a £50m windfall. Oh, and the majority of transfers are paid over 3 years so no chance of £50 upfront unless it's a condition of the sale.

Just some rumours I have heard and read from varied sources, not claiming to be ITK or have a "source".

McGeady is over for a medical today, ready to sign.

Batshuayi will be the striker signing we want, if that fails Finnbogason will come in.

Barry will sign at the end of the season.

I can't say if he was at finch farm today, but I do know he is joining, I hear about most things regarding Irish players.Shane Long could be a surprise mover in January also but not to us.Spurs and Hull could be in for him.
