Ah, fair enough Ed, I'd prefer to keep him myself but have 'prepared' myself for the disappointment if he does leave.
He's obviously a great player but I don't think he's as good and effective when his partner in crime is missing or not on song.

The last few times av watched him he's been awful, had a decent first season but the guy not that good

Got to agree with second post and I can't wait until Tuesday arrives. If we do sign McCarthy then I think Felli will be on the move, there are more vital positions to fill asap and we can make do in the middle of the park for now. We need a top notch striker as it's all well and good playing attractive football but you need to finish chances when they arrive. Kone isn't good enough so far, he didn't really impress me at Wigan either. Deulofeu has put in some good low crosses to the back post, tap ins for strikers prepared to gamble but nobody took a chance. I'd happily take us playing crap football next game but sneaking a win, if only for the sake of getting that elusive first victory

I've liked Osman for years and defended him to my mates and the like, but I've been really disappointed with him for a while now. He seems to have lost all his pace and fatigues easily and I can't recall the last game where he had a major influence on. I think Barry would be a decent shout, especially on loan as he is experienced and a good CDM. I also think that Mirallas has been poor compared to his pre-season and one can only speculate whether he's been unsettled by Fellaini's UTD move etc. What I do know though is that we are missing Gibson, and its obvious to see that our team is in desperate need of a playmaker and a top striker. I know Barkley is good and will one day be our main playmaker, but at the moment we need something closer to the finished article to unlock defences when their tactics are clearly set to defence like Cardiff's was today {Ed025's Note - i agree mate.

James McCarthy would be a top and much needed signing, stronger than Ossie and keeps things ticking over, but we desperately need some creativity from some where too. A quick, tricky wide player as Pienaar looks finished, and someone who can find the back of the net on a regular basis.

Can't give name but I've heard the official utd store have ordered many Fellaini shirts. Still nothing on Baines but sounds like the big guy is definitely going. Just hope something happens soon before Spurs buy ALL the decent midfielders! Ed, any ideas on possible replacements? Bastian Oczipka has been singled out as Leighton Baines' replacement should the England left-back move up the M62. The tall German international started his career at Leverkusen, before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt last summer in search of first team action. Think our 'High Noon' for Felli/Baines saga will be at 2.00pm today when team is announced.
If either (or both) omitted then I think it's goodbye to whoever-cannot see a possible 25m transfer being put at risk over a possible injury in todays game. Want to see both starting but RMs comments yesterday (I don't want to know) have not instilled me with much confidence and possibly indicate he getting as fed up like the rest of us over this on going farce.

45 mill for the 2 is not bad business, would be a great shame to lose baines especially but I have a horrible feeling that he won't be able to play to his strengths under martinez anyway. slowing the play and a lack of quick plays is limiting baines getting free down the left, he is strong running forward, now he is just a crosser as we allow the whole of the opposition to get behind the ball. When Fellaini goes who will them crosses be to?
Considering he's put a £25m price rag on both, no it's not good business!

Man Utd offer only involves £6-8m up front for Fellani so that does not give us much spending power as Wigan only want to do business on McCarthy for cash.
We have enquired about one of four Chelsea players for a season long loan, including Torres and Ba. Torres apparently wants to go back to Spain but nobody has come in for him so he is open to a seasons loan, whilst Chelsea do not want to sell Ba but loan him out to monitor his performances.
