Not Everton related but I saw somebody post about David Villa going to New York City and mentioned they would like him to join the blues and was shot down as if it was impossible. Well there's a rumour circulating over in Aus and it has been reported on fox sports that he is looking likely to do a 10 game guest stink for Melbourne Heart in the A League. I'm not saying we should've tried to sign him but I guess my point is anything is possible.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Thank you SB! I was purely stating I think he would be a great addition to the squad, if Bobby was interested I don't see why it wouldn't happen!

Australia, beautiful country, warm relaxed loads of wages at Melbourne. Liverpool England freezing, snow sleet frost not the nicest city and 50k a week with heavy taxes. That's what I think anyway

Agree0 Disagree1

No problems mate, everybody is entitled to their opinion but far too often on here people react far too negatively to posts and it's ridiculous. It is a rumours and banter page. I don't always agree with what people post but I keep it to myself and I definitely don't try to belittle people, especially when your post was clearly something that could've been a possibility.

{Ed025's Note - im with you SB..

Of course anything is possible, except I can't bend space and time at this very moment so not everything is possible, i'm sure roberto would be interested in bringing messi to goodison, doesn't mean it will happen, would I have villa? Course, would it happen? No chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddo they say Melbourne weather is very much like England and having lived in both cities I'd honestly prefer Liverpool, Sydney on the other hand is gods country haha. As for the wages I can guarantee he will be getting paid a lot less than 50k.

Agree0 Disagree0

Swan I think you've missed the point if Melbourne Heart can pull off a deal like this then there is more than a chance we could and I think if we tried we would be quite appealing, European football, exciting football, young positive Spanish manager. I know given the chance I'd definitely be considering it.

Thank Ed025 good to see someone else is tired of the negativity.

Hey Sydney, I'm not knocking anyone mate but sometimes our fans (not all) need to remember where we are at. We're not a massive lure for our identity, we don't offer a warm sunny climate, we don 't pay massive wages and we don't compete for the league season in season out . All these added up mean we struggle to attract a certain calibre of player. Some fans (not you mate) don't seem to be able tograsp this and slate the club when we don't get those names or have far too high an opinion of ourselves ( high unrealistic opinion and blind optimism are different to one another) but we have both of those types in our support. Some look down their noses at players we would be doing well to sign and others really believe Rooney is signing next season and Mr Whippy the icecream man is paying part of his wages because he's a blue yano lid! All's I'm saying is we need to realise where we are in the grand scheme of things and exactly what, as a club AND as an area/country to live in we have to offer. When you do the math it's not a huge amount unfortunately, I wish it was but it isn't. It's not rubbish either by any stretch of the imagination but we have our limitations and if people realised them they wouldn't get so frustrated or annoyed when they don't come to fruition as they were never realistic to start with. Anyway I'm rambling now so I'll shut up. I've probably repeated myself a lot in this post so apologies in advance. It's been a very long day. Goodnight friend x

Hes a big name syd, he would have tons of offers, melbourbe will be paying him quite a lot, like del piero at sydney fc, if not, he will have offers from all over the world and I doubt, in fact, I know he wouldn't consider everton, doesn't matter what we do, we are not appealing enough to a player like that, players like him who have won it all don't go anywhere for the challenge, they go for the last big paycheck

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand completely what your saying fellas we definitely have a lot of fans that do get a bit carried away it may be the fact that they are younger or just down right delusional but that's their opinion, I just generally laugh and ignore. Also I can agree that we may not look all that appealing to 'big named' players but I also believe credit should be given where it is due. I think we still look quite appealing if those whole picture is taken into consideration, unfortunately I think we get overlooked due to our financial restraints. Like I said in my earlier post I'm not saying Villa should come to us and end of the day we are all entitled to a big final pay day but that doesn't explain the Melbourne deal because I know for a fact there's not a lot of money to be thrown around and Swan Del Piero was getting paid approx $70,000 which is approx 38,000 pound so it's a lot less than any team in England could afford. Anyway fellas I'm not having a go at anybody I'm just stating my opinion. Both of you take care and keep the entertaining posts coming.

Tim ;)

Tim, Sydney, are you timmy Cahill?

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt it he was watching the soceroos match in a corporate suite the other day and Cahill was playing. Unless .

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for. correcting me paddock maybe I should have read the whole post and not just bits of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anything is possible :)

Is there any interest being shown from Everton, or any other team for that matter, in Gary Medel? Would be a brilliant addition, great passer and gets stuck in.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Gary Medel will move with Valencia, Parma and Malaga interested.}

He's stuck in, but his passing range is about 10 yards and he's not got the technique to cut it in the top half. Decent player, but not great.

Ab, I've seen him hit 40 yard passes many times, against sunderland (2-2) he smashed a 60 yard pass straight to jordan mutch, he's neat, aggressive, doesn't back out and is very agile and has a quick burst of pace on him, can shoot with either foot and his reading of the game is quite good, plus he's just been relegated, I would take him

Medel was a moyes target last season. and if I'm not mistaken he turned us down to join Cardiff. waa haaa haaa

Some rumours going around about us and Spurs after someone called Emmanuel Emenike. Any truth in that?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Spurs, Bayer Leverkusen, Spurs and Everton have shown an interest in Fenerbahce's Emenike but he seems keen to stay in Turkey and unless a very high fee is offered the club won't look to sell.}

Eds, any news on the Gareth Barry situation? I read last week that he was waiting until he'd returned from holiday before he'd make his mind up regarding which club he'd choose for next season. Is he back yet? Out of respect will he be talking to us first? I understand West Ham and Arsenal are reputedly offering more money, but surely he is settled in the North West and has just completed one of the best seasons of his career alongside Jimmy Mac. I hope remembers that the 'grass is not always greener. ' plus at his age he can't be short of a bob or two. I just hope he stays with us.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I can't imagine he would have such a short holiday.}
