I HAVE IT ON GOOD AUTHORITY THAT LEROY FER'S KNEE WAS IN A BAD STATE. CANNOT BLAME THE EFC STAFF FOR STOPPING THIS DEAL. I JUST HOPE MOYES HAS MADE CONTINGENCY PLANS ????

BlueClarkey

I think a deal for tom ince would be great business for us! He's young pacey and creative. Think he'd be great for our right wing and a mirror of piennar on the left.

Blue Dazzle

Defour would be a great signing. It wouldn't be possible to get 3 central midfielders though. And Negredo to go with defour would be great.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Teflon Harry on the verge of bankrupting another club again, signing whoever he can, for whatever they want. You would hope that one day the media would start to ask questions of Rednap instead of kissing his arse at every opportunity

Anyway, If this guy (or any young player with promise) joins a team at the bottom of league and facing relegation, then they've done it for the money. Are these the kind of players you would want at our club, a player whose head would be turned at the very mention of a better contract elsewhere.

NO to Darren Bent. Has anyone noticed every club he's played for has either been relegated or ended up plummeting down the bottom?
Ipswich - relegated
Charlton - relegated
Spurs - ended up near the bottom at one point when he was there he was dropped then they moved up the league
he was then sold to
Sunderland - who again ended up near the bottom

now at Villa and guess what?

No no no to Darren Bent, seems to be a weird linger around clubs he plays for

Believable12 Unbelievable5

Well if you think that's the case, send him to Barca and then say it.

Keith EFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he goes to Liverpool next
Ste Old Swan

Agree0 Disagree0

Ipswich and charlton went down when he left. Spurs ruined his confidence. Sunderland plmetted without him. As for Villa well again confidence ruined by the worst manager in the league, who prefered kids instead of experience. The lad scores goals which we need now. 1 goal every 2.3 games sounds good to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mistake on last post. He actually never really played in the premier league for Ipswich on five appearances

As suspected the Fer deal is off, just hope we can bring in ofoe on loan at least, need some cover for gibbo and a right winger wouldn't go far wrong, looks like mirallas is going to miss the game tonight..

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Normal pr spin from kenwright. They probably had no intention of signing fer in the first place. Spend 3k on a private jet to make look kosher for the fans is cheaper than laying 8m for the player. Leave it vitually at the close of the window so its too late to sign anyone else. Will not blame moyes at all for leaving at the end of the season. What I can't understand is if they really wanted ofoe in August why wasn't he signed on the 1st jan. the way the club conducts its transfer dealing is an embarassment {Ed025's Note - no fella!...YOU are the embarrassment!...get back to toffeweb, with all the moaning minnies, and all your conspiracy theory mates..

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Ed! Can't be doing with people like this guy...go and support Brenda and her girls if you want to have a moan!

Murf

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the club genuinelly wanted this guy but in our financial situation we have to be more than careful what we spend our money on. ONE misplaced expensive signing could destroy 10 years good work. Imagine where we would end up if we wasted even half the 20-30 million the reds did on aquillani, for example. don't panic, the club will spend wisely before 11pm tomorrow, they almost always do.
Not sure we will get ( or even want)ofoe though. He looks a decent player, but if I was him I probably wouldn't sign for us. It is clear he is not top of our wish list, so he can't be feeling like he is really wanted here. At the same time, maybe he isn't as good as everyone seems to think. It's not like there is a long list of clubs desparate to sign him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold on I don't blame bk from pulling out ov this deal it was stated we did still want the player but twente wudnt accept alternative terms they wudnt av gon 2 all that trouble if they weren't going to sign him it's just like you would you spend say 30grand on a BMW with a dodgy engine no well ! Just wait we will stil sign sum1 but it looks like wer only after quality players which is gud like moyes sed hold on 2 your hats wait and see !

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't blame moyes or bk, think it was the right decision. Clearly looking out for the club, don't want to pay 8m cash and then an injury set back and money gone. Makes perfect sense to make the cost dependant on appearances.
Mclovin

Agree0 Disagree0

Why announce a deal is done before he passed the medical then. Little bit nieve don't you think? If you look at all the posts on monday we nothing but "in bill we trust" it obviouly worked with some of our less streetwise fans {Ed025's Note - the conspiracy page is at the top..along with alien invasions, and levitation..

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you ed.Everton had been working on this deal for ages and have been looking into other transfers. It takes a lot of time you fool, and everton are not in a position to rush into transfers. Prices drop when the transfer deadline ends and that's why a lot of bussiness is done at the end of the transfer window. It was not predicted that there would be an issue in the medical and everton tried to work a way around it. Fc Twente declined that proposal so everton pulled out. It was sensible to pull out, the risk on almost 9 million would not be worth it. You are a embarrasment son!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is rite ed, that's exactly what that is a conspiracy.

Diame - 3.5m
Butland - 3.5m

1m left for a loan striker!

Sorted

Believable7 Unbelievable13

Unfortunately I think both of those players would cost at least 6 each, plus i'm sure there is more than 8.6 available..

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sorry but wtf do we need with butland we have howard I no we need bk up but that can wait till summer ! {Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Diame would be ideal, he has looked excellent in a very poor West Ham team, but looks a real driving force in midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

Diame's clause is thought to be £7m now and not the initial £3.5m that was originally reported. And strengthening other areas are far more important than GK at this time. Like a powerful CM, someone like Fer...

Agree0 Disagree0

Birmingham accepted a 3m bid from chelsea, butland rejected chelsea. So why bid more than 3m? Crazy world of rumours! We all become agents&ITK's

Agree0 Disagree0

Butland will only go for 1st team football, hence turning Chelski down.

Jon

Agree0 Disagree0

Butland would cost around 3 million as Southampton have dropped their price. We need a midfielder and a striker definately. A winger on loan would be ideal for now. If we could get what we wanted to get done, butland would be a good investment as I doubt we could get a young and talented player with pots of potential for a measly 3 million in the summer. Although Butland would be last on the priority list. {Ed025's Note - he plays for birmingham mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I really think we should go for Butland. He's a good young keeper with massive potential and even £6m is a bargain! Lets face it, Howard isn't getting any younger. He has what, 2 years left at this level. Snap Butland up I say

"Everton's £8.6m move to sign FC Twente's Leroy Fer has collapsed after a medical revealed a problem with his knee.

"The Merseyside club wanted to restructure the deal based on appearances or clauses - but discussions between the two clubs aimed at finding a resolution broke down on Wednesday afternoon.

"Everton had given FC Twente a deadline of Wednesday evening to agree to the new deal but the Dutch club insisted on keeping to the original agreement.

fer deal is well and truly off, twente can't give assurance about his knee and everton won't pay all 9m up front incase he gets injured right away, also he left on a flight back to holland, real shame

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Ahhh, there is absolutely no way Everton would ever, ever, ever pay the 9mil upfront, never the case, it was more 3mil upfront with the rest in instalments. The problem is, Everton want to replace some of the instalments with appearance based classes which Twente are reluctant to do

Agree0 Disagree0

Not true. But nice try. You're pretending to be in the know when all you are doing is adding 2+2 together and making 5

Agree0 Disagree0

He must know something because tv has just said the deal is off..

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be interesting when Fer, returns to Holland, as no doubt he will be angry and frustrated and along with his agent wanting the move. Player power may yet prevail. On saying that, if he is crocked and the medical staff are doing their job, its only right that we were concerned.
Copoue back on the radar?, no doubt Everton have other targets, it will be a midfieder, interesting to see I and who.

Hello eds / blues, the efc / olympiakos fan here that brought the mirallas news, haven't posted just commented this window as I hadnt heard anything regarding the blues, however, back in the hellenik homeland there's apparently all sorts of noise regarding kostas manolas, signed for olympiakos at the start of the season from AEK, been maturing in the first team and apparently daveys been sending scouts, we nearly signed this kid last year.. maybe the time is right in summer with sylvan nocking on, also my mate in naples reckons that were after lorenzo insigne, plays for napoli and is ment to be a tricky little striker with pace.. but other than that I've heard nothing.. apparently worth £10m but moyes wants a loan-to-buy offer - GiannisTheBlue

I think if the Fer deal collapses we will make a last ditch attempt to get ofoe in on loan with view to a permanent deal like last time and bid 8.5m for hooper both would be great additions to the squad!

8.5 for hooper would be horrific. Huge price tag for an SPL player. Quality of that league is bad. Big price and a big risk if you ask me. However it is better than Danny bloody Graham.

I am as sceptical as many of you about the David Villa rumour, I actually was told by the same guy twice whilst doing a promo for a certain popular football game the first time was in sydney and the second in New Jersey. I have worked with this guy on and off for a few years and he is a member of the games production team and spends a lot of time with players, managers and agents. He seems to believe Barca are willing to pay a percentage of his wage if it will possibly lead to a permanent transfer. As I said I'm not sure how I feel about it as it would be an expensive acquisition for an aging player but he still has a good few years at the highest level and would still chip in with plenty of goals.
I will let you all read into it what you may. Remember I'm just the messenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen this going about to, my mates a rangers fan and said he heard of qprs interest in fer a couple weeks ago. Hope we complete the deal. I think becchio could be a good signing. Wouldn't pay more than 2million for him tho (the max he's worth) at 29 aswell, can't see leeds letting him go for any less than 4 tho. Paul efc

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he want to go to a bottom table side for?

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard it's Capoue!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who in their right mind would go to QPR? I would love them to get relegated and Redknapp have to spend some quality time in the championship - I look out for their results all the time as I'm dying for them to go down! I have a bet on them staying up so I'm not too disappointed if it doesn't happen but would prefer to lose me dosh and se Harry sunk - he's an embarrassment to management - just trying to steal Moyes's players all the time - what does that say about his own judgement and ability as a manager?

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio are you drunk, no where near premier league class, at his peak now

Agree0 Disagree0

The only reason anyone is going to qpr is for the money, more than likely all have clauses in their contracts saying they can leave if relegated

I think if we would have kept the strac he would of been great he could of played up top with jela and would of taken pressure off him he used to run through defences like they where a girls football team defence and ino his goal scoring rate wasn't prolific but even if he scored ten goals that could be the difference beetween 4/5

We all loved stracq, but I think his asking price was 5 mil at the time and i'm sure we didn't have it. Loved the man, but had zero ability. I heard leicester swerved him 3 days into a week long trial so he ouldnt have been all that great. Infuriating though, just wish some prem footballs had his work rate and passion. Would still like to see him in the prem.

I agree with original poster, I think the strac would've kept on improving and turned into a valuable player for us. Guys like that are great to have in your squad, you allways know you're going to get 100% out of them and keep the pressure on starting players for their spot. Similar style of player to anichebe with anichebe having bit more polish to his game maybe why we didn't keep him

I don't believe any of this, strac had no ability nonsense, it's simply not true. I know as fans we all like to think we know what we're talking about and we could do better but he is a professional footballer, whilst there are many pros that could be described as bad, almost all of them would make us look persons on a pitch. Give a guy, from a very different league, 6 months to prove himself in the best league in the world and it will take time. Think of all the players that have come and looked terrible but turned out good. It's not like he didn't score, plus i'd like to see how many people could head a ball that is on the floor! talk about ability haha

Everton WILL sign leroy fer and I have a slight feeling that we will also move for vadis odjijda ofoe before deadline day.

I don't see us going for darren bent, becchio don't think we will get him.charlie austin no thanks, I'd go more for gary hooper

Would be great if we got Fer, Ofoe, striker and butland but I can't see this coming off, plus we need right back

Agree0 Disagree0

The papers are saying different the independent says we will sign in him and he could be playing Saturday . The daiy star says his set to sign a 4 and half year deal with Everton

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we need 2 players who play in the same position? We have other priorities, in addition to Fer, would think we would be after a striker and a winger.

FC Twente are still confident a deal can be reached with Everton over Leroy Fer.
