Does anyone have info on Landon Donovan? Probs been said before but why has he not joined? Is it him? His fee? Timing? If his contract is running out surely £5m would get him. Has he just said he wont be joining on loan? Just wondering what you guys think or know? Coz I think he should be our next signing all day long. Good quality, loves and knows the club, at his footballing peak. Surely it's no brainier?

Personally Vincent I'd leave player recruitment to the manager, he hasn't been too wrong before. Donovan is 32 now so in keeping with his transfer policy, I would pay more that what we sold Cahill for.

Hey vince, donovan has told nbc another loan spell in the mls off-season would be "highly unlikely" because he's only had about 2 weeks off in the last 2 years. I think a permanent might entice him over (i love him as a player) but other than that the poor bugger wants a rest

Didn't realise he was 32. Thought he was nearer 29 but as good as he was (and i am not sayin i wouldn't like to see him play for us again) I really think we need to bring younger players in at the right money with a sell on value

I too was very impressed with him. He's a real match winner and I dont think we've ever had a player like him. Not only is he a great finisher and dribbler with bags of pace, I was amazed at how he can play the ball. He has an eye for a pass and his crosses were good too. Very impressed with Naismith. They both draw defenders too them too which leaves space in behind. Big things this season if they all stay fit
