The transfers so far have been great, I'm very happy with the news Sandro has signed and hopefully Keane early this week. Strengthening the spine of the team is always a good building block. With a new stadium on its way supporting Everton has never been better in my 37 years. This must be what Utd/ arsenal/ Chelsea etc have felt over the last 15 years or so. The club deciding who they want and then going out and signing them. It's brilliant. Let's get Rom out sooner rather than later and sort the Ross thing one way or the othe asap as well.

Im excited for next season and future signing! COYB

and if you know your history.

Personally, I hope Rom stays. 20 goals a season nailed on.

I disagree Pierre our club was formed in 1878 and players like Dean Kendal Ball Harvey Labone Young West Wilson and countless other who Lukaku isn't fit to lace their boots knew what it meant to wear the royal blue shirt and would never dream of disrespecting the club by speaking out of turn like Lukaku for me he can go yes he might go and win more trophys at another club but there is something about playing in front of Everton and Liverpool fans if your loved and he is definitely not loved and before anyone mentions his goals when Everton won the league just Before Lineker came the goals where spread throughout the team we signed Gary and changed the way we played to benefit him he had a great season scoring goals but the rest of the team struggled to score we sold him and all of a sudden the team started scoring more goals I have a feeling that's what will happen again let's sell Rom say thanks wish him luck and he will be forgotten about apart from the 2 times he plays against us when Sly will make a big deal about it Happy Monday my fellow blues.

{Ed025's Note - its hard for me to argue about any of that BLUEY, nice post..

I'm disappointed Rom wants to leave us but don't bear any grudge Ffootballers agenda is different than 20 years ago. They are almost all money motivated so Rom is no different.
I agree that with more creativity in midfield especially with Sandros things will be better and more goals hopefully spread around.

Feeling proud to be a blue and praying Keane and Sandros happens today.
P. S Would love Giroud to join us as he's class and a proven Premier League goal scorer. :-)

Bluey78 I understand your frustration over Lukaku but to say he is not "fit" to lace the boots is the players you mention seems a bit harsh. He is not a scorcher, he is not northern, he is not English, in fact he is not British let alone an Evertonian! To compare him to players from eras so far gone is totally unjustified. Football has moved on and you cannot compare apples with bananas. Your reference to Lineker is worrying as we won the title with the squad b4 him and after him, then dropped off a cliff! I agree that the way he has handled himself off the pitch hasn't been the best, but on it. got to give him credit look at the players he has been playing with, I don't remember Everton slapping worlds record fees on Sharp, Gray or any of the players you have named above. Gutted yes, but this is a Belgian born boyhood Chelsea fan who has done the business in 2016-17 on the pitch more than any other player for a long time. Let's not be to harsh.

We'll have to agree to disagree Bluey.

Football has changed beyond recognition from the days of the Holy Trinity mate. Gone are the days of loyalty and the clubs ownibg players, the players rule now and it's a dofferent animal these days. What would you rather have, a 20+ goals a season player that is honest enough to admit his ambition, or a club stalwart who gives you lots of hyperbole about how he loves the club, but couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo? I know what I'd prefer!

I will agree about once he's gone he'll be forgotten. We move on, we always have done.

{Ed025's Note - i have to admit that i doubted it would happen lee especially at that price, i just cant wait for the new season now and i suspect we are far from finished with our recruitment yet mate..

Hi Lee pleased he is in mate, and more to come looking at the clip on Sky the goals look good, cheers GuernseyBlue.

I didn't know much about him until we were interested, but from what i have seen, the lad has it all. Strong, skillful and a team player too. Good signing that.

Hi Pierre mate add to that Jim on Sky saying Keane having medical, where is this going to end, i just want to be part of it, GuernseyBlue.

02 Jul 2017 20:57:15
Looks like he's a grafter with a good engine just like Klassen.

Traits that fair particularly well in the premiership.

Excellent signing, it's a shame Lukaku can't see these signings as ambitious as he wanted us to be in January.

{Ed025's Note - his loss i say smit..

Ed do you feel we are already spending the lukaku money? . I can't see us having this much to splash around without lukaku's fee been taken into account. It'll be pushing 100m of Keane signs tomorrow, with more in the pipeline. I actually can't believe what's going on, I'll rest so easy this deadline day instead of being a nervous wreck.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i cant say for definite gibbo but i suspect we are mate..

02 Jul 2017 23:36:51
if we are spending lukaku money we need to stop cause i doubt anyone will pay 100m for him no disrespect to him he is a special player but not that special and the teams that were in for him seemed to have cooled their interest cause no one can justify a 130-150 mill over five yrs it would take to buy him realistically 50-60 mill or we will end up keeping him i fear worst poss outcome of this transfer window is he is still an efc player bleeting on about how good he is and how much he loves chelsea so tired of it all so i guess it will be a take it or leave it offer from someone who wants him same with barks.

Agree1 Disagree3

03 Jul 2017 07:55:10
Was thinking the same myself gibboEFC. Lukaku is already gone and we will be stronger with the money we get from his sale. I'm not sorry to see him go. Goals or goals we will still score plenty without him and imho do even better without him.

Morning Ed

Do Everton hold any interest in javier Hernandez . I believe I seen he has a 13mill release clause.

Surely a given for a player who is proven prem goal scorer.

Cheers

Everton the gear.

{Ed001's Note - none as far as I am aware Jim.}

Wouldn't mind Kieran Gibbs for 8mil either, gives options at LB.

{Ed002's Note - Again I am not aware of interest Jim.}

could any of the Eds please give us a quick update on Giroud it's being reported we are going to bid for him and compete with West Ham for his signature are these reports just because well according to the rags we are looking to buy everyone or is there some substance to the reports.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach to Arsenal by Everton but another club (not West Ham) has talks scheduled for, I believe, Tuesday - or possibly Wednesday in London. If Everton have moved interest to Giroud then they need to talk with Arsenal.}

02 Jul 2017 11:13:13
cheers ED02.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

02 Jul 2017 14:56:29
Giroud? I'd much rather invest in a speedy, tricky and young striker myself. Don't see Giroud as a 90 minute striker.

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Jul 2017 16:38:43
Brian I agree he probably isn't a 90 minute player anymore but he played 29 times for Arsenal scoring 16 goals 19 of those 29 were as substitute. we would have finished top 4 last year if we had someone coming of the bench and adding 16 more goal. that's just my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 18:18:03
I agree ToffeeAl he would be an asset to the team not just coming off the bench though, I think with more game time and starts he would be really valuable and make a good impact for a good few years he's like a Teddy Sheringham no real pace but position work rate teamwork and football brain are right up there. Would also try and get another youngster in like Dembele or Dolberg they could learn a lot from Giroud.
And his ability to bring others in to the attack is top drawer!
It's a yes from me Mr Koeman!

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 21:37:42
Giroud would be perfect for us for a couple of seasons and he'd end up being a cult hero. Think how well Southampton did under Koeman with Pelle leading the line. Giroud is a better version and our midfield is now of way higher quality. He does everything that Rom doesn't and still bangs in his fair share. He's the one I want to replace Rom. Just not sure we can persuade him to leave London seems a fairly cosmopolitan type of guy, not sure Liverpool is his sort of place.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i will take him down matthew st svenny and when he sees the quality of the totty im sure he,ll be interested mate.. :)

02 Jul 2017 22:37:25
Al. Would you not rather use the reported £20m fee for Giroud as 2/ 3 of the fee to get the likes of Dembele? I'm looking to the future too. Would love Dembele at Everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 23:02:00
Signing giroud would be an andy gray moment and we all know what happened then don't we . am all for him coming bill 👍👍coyb.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 23:08:35
Why not both Brian? We've lost Kone replaced by Sandro lost Valencia get dembele lose lukaku get Giroud! Upgraded strike force right there with decent depth in the youth.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 08:46:22
Giroud rumours doing the rounds again this morning. He'll likely be moving if Lacazette moves to Arsenal and I think he'd be a good fit for us for the next couple of seasons. Do we know if any real interest has been shown?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach to Arsenal by Everton but another club has talks scheduled for, I believe, Tuesday - or possibly Wednesday in London. If Everton have moved interest to Giroud then they need to talk with Arsenal.}

02 Jul 2017 10:46:46
surely he would only come to us for the wages. would prefer we went for other targets than Giroud, let him go back whence he came. france, he is just another over valued, overrated player imo plus if he was all that why are the gunners so keen to replace him. why not one of they're other forwards not for me hope this one gets lost to the annuls of time.

Agree0 Disagree6

02 Jul 2017 11:15:25
I used to think that floats but then I started watching him and boy that guy can head a ball not too shabby with his feet either and his hold up play well it's like a ice cold beer on a hot hot day it's that good as ED02 said we have not shown any interest as of yet but I would take him.

Agree4 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 12:07:51
"Only coming to us for the wages"

I doubt he's coming for the pies 😂😂.

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Jul 2017 13:42:24
It goes without saying that he'd command a good wage, why wouldn't he? He's a top international striker. If he played 30 games up top, he'd deliver 15 goals at least. Bluey is spot on, his hold up play is as good as any striker in the league - with Sandro, Klassen and one or two others running off him, we could be deadly!

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 14:37:11
He had the second best goals per minute ratio in the premier league last season. Only overtaken by Kane in the last couple of games. I think he'd work really well with Sandro, Lookman, Bolasie and, dare I say, Siggurdson. I think he's exactly the sort of player we need if we're prepared to play a more attacking game next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 21:01:27
Giroud is a proper target man who can head a ball and play with his back to goal, I would love to see him at Everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i like him gray but he will not come to sit on the bench, i believe sandro is the same and it will take some creative persuasion or a change of tactics to keep them both happy mate...and there may be more to come..

02 Jul 2017 22:28:19
Sandro can play either side of a main striker in a 3 Ed so the 2 can work together, once Bolasie is fit, just think how scary we could be with him and Sandro either side of a striker of Girouds calibre, look at how our neighbours done goals wise with a similar setup. The reason we struggled for goals when Rom was off par was because we were one dimensional and it was easy for opponent's, stop Lukaku and you stop Everton, we need striking options to compete so Giroud should still be a goer as he can play as a lone striker, in a 2 or a 3 and that gives us options. We definitely need another striker as well as Sandro, and we couldn't go wrong with Giroud, add to that his name fits into a Beatles song so its a winner already.
