Saha is still the best striker we have got. Hes well better than jellyman. Saha only needs to score a couple. An he will go on a scooriing spree hes the key to us finishin in a decent position

Nikica Jelavic-6/7m

Junior Hoilett-5/6m

Believable7
Unbelievable2
He's a great player but i would prefer someone more pacey
Agree1
Disagree1
I haved lived in glasgow for 20 years, I have seen players come and go in the spl, I have seen Jelavic play week in and week out as far as I am concerned he would not be better than we already have he lacks pace and is a lazy donkey and to be honest our reserve strikers could easily score the same amount of goals in the SPL eg we loaned Jutkiewizc to motherwell and he got rave reviews up here, what did we do get rid of jim coz he wasn't good enough for us...... if I were to advise of any striker i the SPL it would probably be Hooper of Celtic but even then that would be a wildcard, there has been no sriker since the likes of Henrik Larson that i believe could cut it in the PL.......
Agree1
Disagree1
Dont listen to this plonker, just another celtic fan talkin s**t. Jelavic is the best player in the spl, no doubt. He'd be a great addition to your squad!
Jay
Glasgow
Agree0
Disagree0
Jelavic is not the way to go, not unless u want a penalty taker as that's where most of his goals have come from, he'd also be a liability as he is a diver, & takes cheating to another level. & with the high level of refereeing in the PL (compared to the SPL), Everton would be a man down regularly. Jelavic also spits the dummy if things aren't going his way, he refused to do training on fri, tho the Gers tried to cover it up with an illness story. {Ed025's Note - them grapes in scotland...taste really sour!..
Agree0
Disagree1
While Jelavic isn't "world class" he does know the way to goal. Yeah most of his goals have come from penalties but I think he is the type of player Everton needs. Build up a strong enough squad and take it from there! Doyle IMO would be a FAR better player for Everton, has proven track record at an EPL club too but Everton just don't seem to be able to compete with the big spenders in the EPL. Put it this way Jelavic can't be half as bad as that lump of wood Carroll and at a tenth of the price. MarkyBhoy - Celtic fan
Agree1
Disagree0
The 4th response is some silly little boy with you got it sour grapes. Im a Gers fan and i will confirm Jelavic most likely the best player in the SPL and will do a job for you. He has been poor for us for last 4 months or so but he still scores goals. Yes hooper has the pace but he doesnt have the physical build from the PL he is better suited to SPL. But if a target man is what you want hes your man. Its just not our style as proved on Saturday (best we have played since 1st old firm) without him. Hopefully with this move both teams will get the benefit.

Stephen whitaker is rangers penalty taker, jelavic as scored 5 penaltys for rangers

Nonsense rangers will only sell if vast majority of money is upfront. rangers are in a dire mess financially and need the money now. {Ed025's Note - beggars cant be choosers..

West ham offered 2.5 mill now and 2.5 mill next year. we offered more up front. west ham offered a player in deal that rangers did not want and would need to put on their wage bill. so it makes more sense for our deal. not nonsense.

Hey guys, Celtic supporter here, I know you guys have been debating over the big numpty, so I can maybe give you the lowdown on him.
He was good last season and caused problems for all defences in the mighty SPL! This season has been a different story so far, he's looked disinterested and out of sorts, whether that's down to the continued speculation over his future, the fact he may actually be gash or he's just realised he plays for that unpleasant club, who knows?
What I will say is, your club should pay no more than 4 or 5 million for the dud!
Good luck for the rest of the season though!

this site is full of negative everton fans, get behind the club! he has scored 35 goals in 45 apperances for rangers, so what if he is slow van persie isnt fast its not all about pace anichbe is fast and hes crap and so are may other players if he is a goal scorer then that should be good enough, look at croations in the league kranjar and moderic all mad good impressions where is there pace? you dont need pace if you have technical ability and positioning. you critise who we get but you know nothing about football, i think half the people on this site would be gutted if we signed messi saying he only plays in spain and he is to short for the prem get a grip

Jelavic is p**s poor mate, he is not even the best striker up there,Rangers are desperate for money and have been whoring him about for months. Only the other day him and his old man were in the paper saying he was holding out for a move to loserpool, last summer he said man u were going to bid £13million for him, went on strike over in Austria and now he has told Rangers he wants out.We don't need him and I dont want him.

I just love that, having a go at Evertonians for being negative, then promptly goes into a rant about Anichebe being crap!
Opinions will always be divided, and do us a favour, don't compare Jekavic with Van Persie, it makes you sound very very foolish! Bobby Blue!

And 15 of them goals were from the penalty spot....celtic fans want him to stay as he's now been found out to be p1sh lol {Ed025's Note - in a proper team. who play in a real league. one with more than 2 teams....i think he would do well..

Agree with the sentiment mate, as there is far too much negativity surrounding the club at the moment.....gets me down. If this is all true lets see how it turns out and hope he is a great signing. At the end of the day Jan is a tough time to buy, we need a striker, Moyes has identified one and Bill is going to back it up with the cash. Everyone has been crying on about Bill and the board and slagging them off well here they are apparently about to spend so lay off! Lets pull together and push the team onto a strong finish, everyone is doing their best!

Rangers fan here. Jelavic is a very good player. He is very technically good. He has a knack for finishing. Remember he is consistently in the Croatian national team.

I too are a rangers fan and i disagree with my fellow bluenose. at rangers he misses a lot of easy chances, has a poor first touch and lacks in pace. the head goes down and he sulks a lot if he gets no service. personally i don't believe he is a player who can improve everton's frontline.

Rangers fan here I honestly cant believe some of you everton fans on jelavic! he is a great striker and would do a great job for everton. He is much better than McFadden and Anichebe and scores some terrific goals. You should have a look at some of them on youtube like his overhead kick vs aberdeen. I really think he'd be a great signing for everton and could probably get his game for a better team in the EPL tbh.

Hi Ed just copied and pasted this from SSN hope I'm not breaching copywrite, I trust you'll keep me out the soft stuff and Edit accordingly cheers Big C "Sky Sports sources understand Everton are weighing up a shock move to sign Wolves striker Kevin Doyle before the close of the transfer window.
Doyle is no longer first choice at Molineux due to the impressive form of Steven Fletcher this season and has started only one of the last six Premier League matches.
The Republic of Ireland international has also scored just twice in the League this term and has been linked with a January move away.
He was mooted as a target for Everton last summer, but Wolves boss Mick McCarthy insisted the 28-year-old was not for sale.
The Toffees were also rumoured to be interested in signing Doyle from Reading before the forward joined Wolves in a big-money deal in 2009.
Everton boss David Moyes is keen to bring in a striker before Tuesday's transfer deadline, with his side having scored 22 goals in as many league games this season."
