We don't want weir if Martinez falls through should be pereira that's my choice now pereira weir would be a bigger insult than Martinez.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

That's one crazy sentence!

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't want martinez never mind weir I won't watch a single match if rb is appointed why would we want him he would most prob get us religated {Ed025's Note - who the hell is rb?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's 'we' you don't speak for me lad
Uncle Ben

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll keep watching whoever is appointed because I support my club {Ed025's Note - thats right mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez first season to be successful would be top ten {Ed025's Note - we are better than that..

Agree0 Disagree0

If by "rb" he meant to put "rm" for roberto martinez, then I'm sorry mate but you are talking utter utter kack. Martinez wouldn't get us relegated, he would not come to our club, a club which should be challenging for trophies and European spots, and make his main aim to stay up. Give over.

Agree0 Disagree0

club has made an apology on evertons official website over the new crest and promise to listen to fans views on a new design

http://evertonfc.com/news/archive/2013/05/28/a-message-to-evertonians

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Recall they said they would listen to our views on a new manager, that worked out real.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok very good, so should we all go out and buy those kits with the offending crest on. I don't think so. I for one think the club should take the hit on th chin and re-style the crest now in time for the new season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read that Alan Nixon reckons Martinez will be manager and will sell Fellaini to bring in McCarthy, McManaman, Maloney, Kone and Alcaraz! Can't see that myself and certainly wouldn't want that to happen.

Believable4 Unbelievable10

So Everton will sign players who have just been relegated

Agree0 Disagree0

No way would Whelan let us have 5 players, unless we offered like a £billion for each. Plus, Martinez wouldn't do that out of respect I'd imagine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez loves Wigan. If talks don't go well, where does it leave him

Agree0 Disagree0

They will probably have to sell to reduce wage bill

Agree0 Disagree0

What like Moyes wouldn't go for Felliani out of respect, doubt it. I'd take Mcmanaman, guys bossed it this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 23:25:16
Is that the Alan Nixon everton supporters got sacked from the independent over his bias in covering the Rooney deal? He hasn't an axe to grind has he!

Agree0 Disagree0

Suggest you let Alan know he's talking rubbish then

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately Alcaraz could be a goer because he is a free agent now. {Ed025's Note - thank god...i thought he was a prison in san francisco bay!

Agree0 Disagree0

This is getting ridiculous now, people are blaming the squad at Wigan for going down, poor players terrible defence etc etc then wanting Martinez and half the bloody squad as well!

Championship manager, championship squad, championship support.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would defo take Mcmanaman and Figeuroa. the rest NO CHANCE! Pienaar is on his last legs and Mcmanaman would be great replacement he was brilliant in the Fa cup final, Figeuroa now that Heitinga is going, i'd rather have Bentecke and sell jelavic. I don't think Kenwright has any money and whoever takes over will have to keep, the team we already have i'm afraid

Agree0 Disagree0

Good players don't knock them, but we won't sell Fellaini because we don't have to!

Agree0 Disagree0

He would only bring Maloney, the rest wouldn't even make the bench!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would only take McCarthy & McManaman out of them 5. Kone, Alcaraz & Maloney are all 29+. We should be looking to sign younger players, not adding to the amount of players over 30 we already have.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need extra lbodies to give us some depth that's for sure. can't keep playing the same 11-13 players week in and week out.

As for the post about Wigan being a championship squad etc. They won the FA Cup and are in Europe, we won what exactly?. I for one will show them some respect

Agree0 Disagree0

tv have commented that 2 other candidates in contention, not a done deal yet me thinks

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Sorry guys but I really do smell a rat and billy boy will turn up saying we feel it was best to appoint from within the club. so alan stubbs or weir is the man to take us forward. I feel sick just now.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is great news, and says two left which means we have definitely met with others. just hope the bookies have it wrong on this one!

Agree0 Disagree0

Have heard the initial list of 8 has been narrowed to Martinez, Pereira and Billic. The 1 of the latter 2 hopefully!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 22:37:30
Just had a pint with me mate Vitor. Said he was offered the job on the basis Neville stayed on. He said do one (in Portuguese like!)

Believable12 Unbelievable12

28 May 2013 22:25:54
The two other candidates are likely to be Stubbs and VP, expecting a decision on Fridays

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Stubbs first to be interviewed mate.
he was given the greenlight but since they are exploring all options, Bilic is definately one of them. 100/1 chandlers.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 22:24:32
Why are the so many baloonheads heads on here I know so and so well it turns out none of you know anyone get a life

Believable11 Unbelievable3

28 May 2013 22:21:36
i know you can't believe everything on tv but interesting to hear them say there may be be 2 other interviews as well as RM.
Possibly VP & Bilic?

what do you reckon guys?

Believable5 Unbelievable6

According to a very well respected Russian Journo - Artur Petrosyan
he states Everton are interested in Bilic - I stated this on a separate blog today. reliably informed all along Stubb's had got it and I'll still stand by that Jimmy Martin information.
100/1 with Chandlers if you fancy a punt.

28 May 2013 22:30:54
Hope there are other candidates. Next door's dog is definitely keen on the post. Fingers crossed Bingo gets it, c'mon Bingo. In Bingo We Trust! COYB FOYR

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so mate, I really do. let's hope they are just inteviewing RM as he is available now. the other two would be better!

Agree0 Disagree0

Stubbs would be better than Martinez?! Are you mad?

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez is a done deal, the club are just making out they're conducting a full and proper search. With the theatre impresario in charge it's not surprising. Get your heads round it because it's happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 21:48:25
Wilfried bony up front. corneliuse back up or vellios

Believable7 Unbelievable2

28 May 2013 21:23:22
An agent of a first team player has apparently told a leading national journo (and Evertonian) that EFC players not convinced by Martinez and that if he is confirmed it will see several (Fellaini, Baines, Jelavic, Mirallas) push for an exit. Mirallas shares an agent with Vitor Pereira and his agent will usher him to the door if Pereira not appointed. The others were waiting to see who replaced Moyes but were already considering moving on. All the usual caveats apply as this is second hand (the journo is a personal friend) but it is worrying, even if only that an agent is trying to plant this type of story in the media.

Believable10 Unbelievable26

Funny how Distin said Baines really likes Martinez

TC

Agree0 Disagree0

This is something that we should all be concerned by, how do get motivated by a manager that has just been relegated! its a joke. total joke

Agree0 Disagree0

Wooly66: name the player, the agent, and the jouno if you dare!
RhinoSoreAss

Agree0 Disagree0

Mischief making rubbish IMO.

stewillow

Agree0 Disagree0

If that true then 60 mill would be a decent figure to try and get. Wouldn't be the end of EFC. could get Fer. Negrado. Atsu etc got oviedo and bidwell for LB. can't see it happening tho. Still pray that we get Honda. Watched him on youtube and he a quality player and his free kicks are immense

Agree0 Disagree0

Jealous koppites maybe or just more rubbish. get over it we finished above you again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its true wouldn't be the end but just gets to me the whole hype around Martinez. a fotunate FA Cup win aside what has he actually achieved? If we're looking at relegated managers let's get 'arry in? or that fella who always looked scared and was caretaker manager at Wolves?. bless him wernt his fault. which is probably what Martinez will be saying when he gets sacked by Christmas. we are in trouble if we take him

Agree0 Disagree0

What is it with all of this doom and gloom. who was DM before he came to everton? no-one. He was incharge of a team going nowhere. yet we won't accept internal staff, we won't accept Rafa, we won't accept RM. we just want some guy (VP) that a lot of us (me included TBH) had never heard of before. and only the more astute blue noses had heard of. Then before we have even appointed a manager there are rumours about who is departing. despite the fact that Baines apparently likes RM (whether or not he becomes manager), Jagielka has unresevedly declared he wants to stay, ozzie (a great servant imho) has signed a new contract. yet more doom and gloom. I understand its a banter / rumour site but some of thsi stuff just infuriates me. since when did we believe every rumour in a paper or otherwise that was on here. these lads finished 6th anyoneowith common will wait and see who the guy is and how he impresses them before spouting their mouth. Also why would any player come to a club thinking that the manager will ALWAYS be there? they wouldnt. Sorry I don't believe any of this. I need a pint!jlaff {Ed025's Note - get me a lager jlaff..

Agree0 Disagree0

Journo works for a left-leaning national daily; the agent does not represent the players named. As I said, usual caveats but expect to see articles questioning Martinez' suitability tomorrow and Thursday

Agree0 Disagree0

Least he wasnt sacked by Reading, its all the usual s*** people make up for attention.

Fellaini - 24mil

Baines - 18 to 24mil

Mirallas - 20mil

Jelavic - 10mil

Naismith - Pack of smarties and a twix

its all lies, all under contract and only one with a buy out clause which davey the sellout put in place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just goes to show not all scousers are a comedy genius. I mean c'mon, 'Wooly' '66', are you trying to tickle our ribs by suggesting all Evertonians are woolybacks, are you Jimmy Tarbuck? Scouse humour eh? More like Norwegian.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey that's a bit harsh on Naismith,, wed get a back of crisps has well {Ed025's Note - dont bank on it.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

All I am saying is we do know what RM has done, he isn't unheard of jlaff. he got relegated and battled it every season for the last 3 or 4 years! At the end of the day its out of our hands. and who knows maybe he is the only one we can get but would rather have seen Ole Gunnar, or VP or Bilic or even dare I say it Lennon! At least he has acheived things, been in ECL etc. Well back to the mental let's have it days of the ninties here we come, its been a great 11 years. let's go mental again. and get plenty of lagers in jlaff!

Agree0 Disagree0

'A left leaning national daily'
Unless you're talking about The Morning Star, they're aren't any, and I don't think they're really big on footie anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of tosh.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've had the lagers and I'm calm again:-) jlaff

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a comment regarding Moyes before he came to EFC - yes he was only at Preston but they had been punching well above their weight for at least 2 seasons and he nearly got a team laden with debt into the Premier League so he wasnt a 'nobody', he had shown enormous potential for getting the best out of a group of players and that is exactly what we need again!

IMO if we are going for a manager from within the English League, would like us to move for someone of the same ilk (Eddie Howe perhaps) with experienced staff surrounding him - Pip, Stubbs etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Mirallas is here to stay, read on a French website saying that he will stay, why would he leave?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 May 2013 12:26:19

Roberto Martinez reportedly signed 2 year deal including him bringing mcarthy and mcmanaman and kone with him in a deal worth all together 13m;

Believable5 Unbelievable26

Sounds good

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm - only two years? Doesn't even sound plausible - even as a rumour.
As for the players named - maybe in time, but for now I hear the airborne bacon sweeping across Goodison.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take McCarthy & McManaman, but not Kone; Kone is 30 in November, we want younger players

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes mcmanaman the evertonain. Sounds good to me imagine him with Mirallas down te wings

Agree0 Disagree0

Do the players know yet? bearing in mind he's only just become available a few hours ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Talk about making up rumours as you go along.

Leroy fer has come out and said he's still open to a move to everton

Hope it comes off

Believable14 Unbelievable1

Has he had an injury-free run of regular games since the January transfer window?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah not one injury

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he has Sid

Agree0 Disagree0

Can see us going for McCarthy instead now, Martinez will want to bring his own targets in

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 20:18:38
Does anyone know if the old club crest at GP is staying.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Rumours the badge is staying for next season, and a group will have consultation with the club going forward on how it should look like.
Patsblue.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt they'll decide to put a new badge up on Goodison when the club have confirmed a new badge will be designed for the 2014/15 season

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 19:07:39
Someone predicted a new manger this season and a takeover looks like they right on one thing so far

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Smoke screen? Martinez to Stoke?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 18:01:08
Whoever posted about the club changing the badge for the 2014/15 season is spot on.

Well done!

The club is finally listening.

Believable11 Unbelievable3

All we need now is a 2nd miracle in a week and that is Martinez totally shanking his interview and doing one to Stoke. Then we may have a chance!

Agree0 Disagree0

If you have read the post from the club regarding PR disaster that has ensued over the week about the raped of the club badge, it is plain the club are treating the fans with total contempt with promises of restoring the crest next season.

It is obvious that this has been demanded by the club sponsors so they can cut costs in production of the merchandise and charge the fan base more. And the club have gone along with this!

Agree0 Disagree0

No they just hope that everyone will have accepted it by then and just say it would be best to keep the new badge.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 17:59:17
Well at least we only have to put up with the crest for one season. fair play for taking notice.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

28 May 2013 17:08:21
Ed will martinez be meeting kenwright tonight or. #excited {Ed025's Note - i dont know dan..

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Probably some time in the next week

Agree0 Disagree0

As soon as Jenny gives her nod of approval it'll be done and dusted.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 17:07:23
I see that vp was interviewed last Monday so rm has always been first choice maybe if rm knocks it back we may get vp after all happy days

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Or vp doesn't want it so hope marty does otherwise its panic and stubbs dunc will destroy everything good been done

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 17:03:24
Hi Ed do you think that VP is still possible even though RM has resigned? {Ed025's Note - its still possible mikey...no one has been appointed yet mate..

Believable8 Unbelievable1

28 May 2013 17:15:50
Ive just had a tenner on VP at 25/1, you never know Mike, happy with Martinez though myself mate as he is my 2nd choice kidder

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus Degsy you change your mind as much as Chelsea change managers. LOL. Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't understand why vp is not now favourite
After looking so promising to get position of manager.
It seems he would take club to a different level.
Think in time the club will look back with regret for not
Making there move on this unique manager {Ed025's Note - i dont know about unique!...99% of us had never heard of him a month ago, he has obviously done well at porto, but the prem is step up from the portuguese league, im not saying he is not for us, but lets get things into perspective, none of the barca,s, or madrid,s are going to be banging his door down anytime soon..

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 16:58:19
I want new manger to sign mcmanaman. NEGRADO. Fer. Honda

Believable18 Unbelievable5

Don't need Mcmannaman mate, lazy player. Now McCarthy yes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excuse me lol hw can mcmanaman. Be a lazy payer?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you think we let him go the first time?

Agree0 Disagree0

Poor decision maker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Prob won't be able to sign any wigan players because Martinez didn't walk out of his club for free.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcmannamin was released due to attitude/disciplinary problems.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have harley davison he is faster than honda {Ed025's Note - on yer bike!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate we just don't have the money

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 16:55:51
Club to make a statement this evening.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

28 May 2013 18:06:59
A miserable attempt at an apology by spreading the blame of the badge fiasco. Elstone and BK OUT! {Ed025's Note - what do you want..blood?..

Agree0 Disagree0

They just have and it was about the new badge

Agree0 Disagree0

Fairly good apology to be fair. They cocked up, admitted it and are moving on as quickly as they can, the stuff is already printed for next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

At least the club have "manned up" and responded to the criticism. In an ideal world, the badge/crest situation wouldn't have gone so far, but no one is perfect - not even some of the posters on this forum (!) - and I'm now prepared to see how they deal with the selection process for the promised change for the season after next. I still won't buy merchandise with the 2013-2014 badge/crest, but the loss of my pittance surely won't jeopardise the club's commercial income :-)
Once the 2014-2015 badge/crest is chosen, I'll decide what merchandise to purchase.
Once a blue, always a blue!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 16:44:20
Roberto's first match could be Real Madrid, AC Milan or Juventus. Come on Robby. Dan1

Believable9 Unbelievable3

28 May 2013 16:13:41
Ed if we do get Martinez does that mean we get europe because he was in europe with wigan? Tom {Ed025's Note - erm...no..

Believable2 Unbelievable12

I think he was joking

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he was joking.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know Joe King and there's no way he'd post something like that ;-) {Ed025's Note - i like it mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

It's true and he will bring the FA Cup to parade round Goodison Park first game of the season.
Andy The Chef

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 15:43:40
Did not want Martinez but if we get him I will support him 100 per cent and your job aswell blues to to support him I really hope he proves me wrong. IMWT at least we can keep the imwt lol. Stef the blue

Believable13 Unbelievable4

28 May 2013 16:30:26
i hope he brings kone

Agree0 Disagree0

Was not my choice, will give him every chance, as above post, would be happy to be wrong!

Agree0 Disagree0

I 100% agree! Not my first choice either stef. Who else is there though really? Pereira? He's not proven in the premier league and realistically we don't really know all that much about him. whoever we get is going to be a gamble, so COME ON ROBERTO!!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 17:03:56
I agree not my first choice, but I think we'll be entertained and am still looking forward to some fresh ideas. I can't deny he's a very likeable bloke!

Agree0 Disagree0

Was not my first choice but will get behind him its the Everton way. he won't get hounded out like Hodgson! IMWT!

Agree0 Disagree0

See I expected nothing else from my fellow blues good honest fans best in the world. Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 17:42:47
come on lads its obvious that martinez is not every ones cup of tea, let's give the man a chance, And let's get behind him and the team, I honestly can't see us going down next season, different club with more skillfull players, so let's all try to look on the bright side, kev.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez was not my first choice but if he gets the nod it's a 100% backing all the way. Moyes was not everyone's cup of tea and we all lost the plot with him every no and then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonder how we will feel in 6 months time?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 15:27:07
listened to Andy Gray on a web site and he's not at all happy about the new badge either.

So far that's Neville Southall And Andy Gray

Who've cared enough and had the bottle to stand up to the club and speak their mind.

Anybody heard of any more ex players speaking out?

Popeye

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Popeye:

New badge is lacking big time it's like a non Evertonians perception of what he/she thinks the existing badge looks like.

Not much thought put into this!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's great but what are WE, the fans going to do about it? The fans MUST show our disregard for the new badge (it doesn't warrant the word 'crest') by refusing to buy new merchandise.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's the same andy grey who cheered when they won the champions pot, his opinion on the toffees isn't worth spit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is andy gray again he has never said a good thing about everton since he left.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it true that you need one hundred thousand votes for it to be taken to government?

Agree0 Disagree0

Aaaah stop moaning, the Huts a proper historical representation of the real one, the last one was a Helter Skelter! Did the last artist even see the real thing? I think not! I like the badge, we need to support our club in every way, that includes buying merch and not giving kopites sticks to beat us with by public whining. JP

Agree0 Disagree0

Tim cahill has supposedly signed it aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 15:14:05
Sorry guys, the bookie here. some of you will have seen my posts last week!
I know I said Monday and it didn't happen, I still stand by the information I gave you that Stubbs will be announced soon.
Another slice to add is Carraghers brother just placed a hefty bet on Stubbs being next boss. I'd keep backing it if I were you lot.
Cheers

Believable2 Unbelievable20

Eds, how did this get through the BS filters?
Domo {Ed025's Note - its just a rumour domo...ignore it mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

What's carras brothers name as I know Jamie and his two brothers as I was in school with jamie

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Carragher buddy, I ain't rubbishting anyone. the information is honest as the day is long.
Martinez may have talks but have you ever gone for a job and it's been given internally? it can happen you persons.
If Martinez has applied for this job then Everton would need to grant an interview you'd have thought. talks and job offerings are two very different things.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 16:15:14
Ive never been given it internally when going for a job, glad I don't work with you lad

Degsy {Ed025's Note - good answer degsy..

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmmm a bookie giving out tips/info on someone who will not get the job but if everyone listens and puts a bet on, it will make the bookies a lot of money

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus christ, ok let's wait shall we. look at all my posts when Stubbs gets it. so ignorrant.
Degsy you dope, read again. I said have you ever been for a job and it's been given internally? meaning Martinez interviewed but Everton employ Stubbs. tell you've not gone for many in ya life kiddo.
Ed025 - you can throw me an apology eventually when the news breaks. Bilic btw was also approached last week but has a meeting on wed. this may yet drag on. {Ed025's Note - i dont apologise to people who are too ignorant to leave a name..

Agree0 Disagree0

Prendergel, sorry ED025. {Ed025's Note - thats ok then..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why give Bilic an interview on Weds if Stubbs is already lined up? That seems a bit odd. I think your prob right that Stubbs is a major contender but I don't think it is as cut and dry as a cert. Nice heads up though if genuine ;) Chris

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Chris, as you'll know clubs don't just target one guy and as the ed's mentioned these things can swing daily depending on club structure agent demands fee's etc.
Stubb's was given to us by Jimmy Martin "kitman" as a more or less done deal, Bilic was approached but still contracted and if to be believed has a meeting to release him after Everton "showed" an interest last week. clubs often sound out a number of candidates in order to gain ideas and then go the total opposite direction. please don't rule me out as a source like some of your mates because this is the absolute truth of the matter.
Prendergel.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone know if BWIN were/are in the market? According to a well known odds comparison site BWIN aren't in the market at this time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully you guys will believe me now? Check SPNS.
Yes you will speak with Martinez but they are hoping to speak to 2 other candidates.
Cheers

DM's win rate was 42. 1% Colin Harvey's was higher. Go figure.

Believable1 Unbelievable9

We will be relegated if he becomes manager.

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST, may as well get a few bob on. {Ed025's Note - you never said..FACT!...so its not true..

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 15:03:00
if we leave the defence to the likes of stubbs and weir to keep them organised and in shape and leave Martinez to play with the MID and ATT he will do good he has a much better squad with us and no one say buy wigan players, we need to move up and bring in better quality than ex prem players

Believable13 Unbelievable0

So wheres the money coming from for this to happen?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 14:58:30
Come on roberto. Come on Roberto

Believable14 Unbelievable6

He's a f a cup winner come on we've had 11 years without a cup top 4 and a cup will do me coyb

Agree0 Disagree0

11 years? more than that i'm afraid mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 16:13:41
Go away Roberto

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 14:57:32
For the doubters - I personally don't think Martinez is the issue, the issue is who the board let's him bring in, funds etc, a couple of class signings and you'll be back on side, our back four won't fold just because a new manager has come in.
'School of Science' - I can see Martinez falling into that catorgry.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Its going to be a disaster mate, all our decent players will leave and who will he bring in? Maloney?! or other Wigan rejects that just took them down. {Ed025's Note - dont be such a drama queen!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Are decent players are all contracted and its going to take proper money to prize them away, kone is one Wigan player I'd take

Agree0 Disagree0

Part of my resevations is that bill has found another yes man to massage his ego.

At the risk of sounding dumb if Martinez has walked out on Wigan why does he need permission to talk to Everton and why then do we have to pay compensation?
Whelan has said Martinez is on a 12 month rolling contract so surely that expires at the end of May or thereabouts.
Can anyone enlighten me please?

I also remember Martinez was the one who started the Swansea revolution of playing good attacking football with a win percentage of over 50%. he set the foundations and it stuck at swansea as they did not have to sell their big players. Season upon season, martinez was forced to sell his big players at wigan due to financial problems, hence the reason why his tactics did not stick as so many players shipped in and out of the club. Everton are no longer a selling club and hence would not incur this problem going forward with Martinez appointment. I for one would be happy with this result. CraigHuytonBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

People keep going on about the football his teams play and how they beat us in the cup, what about the 38 other games in the premiership?

He had a good cup run, but could not motivate his squad week in week out.

People are making excuses for his relegation, saying that its his squads fault that they were relegated. It was exactly the same squad that wiped the floor with us at Goodison.

Cup runs are great, but you need to do it week in week out in the prem, that has got to be the first priority for teams.

The FA cup is a red herring.

Got some information and don't know what to make of it, it has nothing to do with a manager or the new badge but its interesting to say the least. Terry Antonis as people may know has agreed a move to Parma from Sydney FC even though there was definitely an agreement in place with Everton. When it originally happened we were somewhat surprised as I have known Terry for a long time and he hadnt mentioned it to me but after talking to Terry's representatives it seems it was a decision made by Everton. Apparently Terry was told Everton had decided not to persue him as he was not going to fit into the new managers plans. The question is what manager? Is there something sorted or is this just Everton trying to pull the wool over more than just the fans eyes? What are your thoughts eds?
Regardless of this I wish the young bloke all the best with his career and even though he hasn't showed his full potential yet I guarantee we have missed out on a great talent.

SydneyBlue {Ed025's Note - hes not the biggest loss in the world mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Sydney Blue. is tit maybe a case that Antonis' agent was told this prior to the end of Moyes. or was this relayed after moyes' confirmed departure? jlaff

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Ed but I'm more disappointed with the lack of professionalism the club has shown in handling the situation either they have lied to the player by saying he doesn't fit into the plans of a manager we don't yet have or they have allowed a prospective manager make decisions that he isn't yet in the position to make. I think a simple "we don't want you" would've done. It has just left a bad taste in the mouths of some people who represent a few young Aussie talents and has tainted the name of the club, I just hope it doesn't lead to people refusing to deal with us.

SydneyBlue {Ed025's Note - things change all the time in football syd, dont take it so personally mate..

Twice in the last 4 Years Kenwright has had 2 possible buyers:

Firstly The Sheik, not entirely his fault, but fell through at the last minute due to City having a better stadium.

More recently Bernie Ecclestone was to buy a 51% share of the club, at the last minute Kenwright only wanted to give away 49% so him an his crew could retain the majority shareholding. This was a done deal and the paperwork had been drawn up.

Ecclestone told him to get stuffed, jumped in his helicopter and flew off into the sunset.

This man does not have Everton best interests at heart, he has no idea how to run a football club! He could have sold this club several times over but always finds a way retaining control.

Can’t wait for everyone/most to be crawling out of their a***** when Roberto improves us and takes us on to the next step. He may not be as successful as Moyes in firing up the troops, but that should be instilled in them all by now naturally. In terms of football Martinez will take us to the next level. How any of you can comment on his inability to defend is beyond me. When you have Caldwell, Alvarez and Boyce as your back-line, it would be difficult for anyone to keep the goals out. But he will have a much higher calibre of player to depend on in our lads.

Everyone going on about Vitor – Yes granted his record is phenomenal, however it is the Portuguese league, a hell of a lot easier than the Premier league. He was managing the best team in the league, its hard to put a foot wrong. I have wanted Martinez in for a good while now and personally (if he comes in) can't wait for him to prove a lot of you wrong.

I, for one am looking forward to a change of attacking football and not going 1-0 up against a lower half table team, playing them off the park, only to take a striker/attacking player off, chuck a defender on then concede an equalizer or worse get beat e.g Norwich, reading. {Ed025's Note - no arguments from me mate..

If he is keen he needs to make his position known NOW!
