How come no one seems interested in this? (This is in today's Daily Mail) If Everton have met with the City Counsel about building on Stanley Park then there must be inverters in the wings. I think this is massive news. Why have the club not said anything?
There is a perception that the authorities favour Liverpool.
The city council, for example, recently granted planning permission and imposed compulsory purchase orders so the redevelopment of Anfield could begin. Everton, meanwhile, saw their attempt to build a new stadium in Kirkby thrown out by the government in 2009.
Currently there are intentions to look at a site on nearby Stanley Park. There was a meeting with the council about it on Friday.
