Portugese B team, crazy how would this guy cope with the prem?

28 Jul 2018 12:56:14
Seems a bit strange, you'd think at 21 he'd at least be in the first team squad.

Make my mind up? haha
Ive said. he's NOT SIGNED YET!
Unless ofcourse you're the only one whos seen the pic of him wearing the shirt.

The real is close. we are talking to Mina in tandem but Man Utd have now enetered the frame.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Jul 2018 18:26:38
I. was quoting you from yesterday, you said "Digne signed". Did you say that or not?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2018 19:43:48
some desks are completed well before pictures come out. Announcements are held off for a number of reasons including marketing opportunities like new kit releases etc.

Lookman and Walcott not travelled with the squad to France today due to ‘injuries’ . anyone else smell a rat? This story that came out that we rested Lookman when RB Leipzig has sent a scout to watch against Bury? Anyone else think. you have had the lad for the best part of 5 months, why on Earth are you sending a scout to watch him ‘potentially’ play in a pre-season friendly? Is it just me folks or can anyone male any sense of all this?

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - sounds a bit fishy to me blu..

27 Jul 2018 21:21:09
Hi Ed . any thoughts? Or Ideas what could be going on, I’d even listed to conspiracy theories at the moment 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - things will become clearer next week blu, we are guessing at the moment mate but the lookman issue does not seem to be going away so that is a concern..

27 Jul 2018 21:43:46
Just let him go if he wants to, or anybody else for that matter. It was said about Klaassen earlier, Koeman, Unsworth, Allardyce and now Silva and the kid (Lookman) obviously can not get any guarantees. If he came through our youth system he would have been long gone but because we paid a decent fee I think we have false hope for him.

Agree2 Disagree2

27 Jul 2018 22:02:19
Part of me agrees with that but given our precarious defending capabilities, I'd have thought we should at least protect the creative capabilities we currently have. which lookman is a very big part of imo. at the moment the squad is actually weaker than last season. Mori gone, Rooney (top scorer) gone. there is still time left and I'm positive we'll sign at least 2 more players, but I'd like to see us bring in players before we consider offloading anyone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 22:20:46
Jcl I don't 100% want him to leave I just feel we had so many reported divisions in the squad last season it maybe time to ship out players who have a higher opinion of themselves than is true. The guy scored on his debut when he went to Germany, went about 8 games without scoring and finished the season on fire when other players were knackered/ already on their holidays. People say we underachieved last year, did we? Or have we just got a load of average, overpriced prima donnas? Obvious players excluded from that criticism.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 22:35:51
U make some good observations. on gut alone I think he is going to be class and we've struggled creatively. I'd like this lad to b given a chance with us.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 21:34:11
Agree Ed, if it means we can bring others in that want to play for us and more importantly improve us then ok, I wait with intrigue and hope 🤞 Thanks as always.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

27 Jul 2018 18:23:09
Brands and Silva realise its a bigger job to sort out than they thought.
Lots will be moved on and at least 2 windows to sort out.
Walcott wanted an extra week off as said had a foot injury. they had it examined. nothing wrong.
Once relegation was avoided BS let players come in when they wanted, as he knew he was leaving and wasnt bothered. obviously this has changed and some players peeved.
expect lots of changes.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

27 Jul 2018 18:30:26
oh and forgot.
Pickford would be open for a move to Chelsea min £75m ( pending we find a replacement ofcourse)

Agree0 Disagree3

27 Jul 2018 19:28:19
How do you know Pickford would be open to a move Chin?
I can’t see it myself.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 19:55:19
Blue79 with you mate can't see picked going anywhere we don't need to sell and he still got 4 years on contract even skysports admitted it be difficult to get picked from us I am sure the club expected this after his form in world cup.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 21:34:06
We won't sell Pickford this year i'd bet my left.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jul 2018 21:58:59
Why not Blue.
Give me just ONE reason he wouldn't be.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 22:32:09
Nothing says confidence like a man throwing one of his gonads onto the table, Chinchin, although you can put those away, Bluetit. You make a solid argument, but nobody wants to see either of them, unless they look uncannily like Mina and Digne. But I agree. Pickford won't go this summer at least. Paper talk. According to some rags he was a waste of £30 million when we signed him last year. Just all part of the media rollercoaster.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 23:01:41
because we don't want him to as a club and we own his rights for 4 more years unless we receive silly money which I dnt think anyone will actually part with.
is that valid enough reason chinny old boy.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 23:36:02
Nope, not really.
We didn't want Stones Barkley to go either.
If he wants to go and we get £75/ 80m, then the club will be up for it.

Chelsea will get 35/ 40m for Courtois. which means they will be paying out 35/ 40m for Pickford.
Which is nothing at todays prices especially for a young keeper and Englabds No1.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It really doesn’t work like that. Try just ignoring the money - and any thought that Pickford will sell for £80M.}

28 Jul 2018 01:00:15
It usually works this way. a club gets a fair offer from a more succesful club ( in modern terms) . that player is tempted and let's it be known he would consider the offer. Club looks for a replacement. if found deal usually happens.

Agree0 Disagree4

28 Jul 2018 12:26:14
If they looked like Mina and Digne i'd be sitting at a distinct tilt haha.

27 Jul 2018 15:06:55
Eds, I have a question about onyekuru (spelling) the lads loan spell in Belgium started well last year, same this year in Turkey. Is it his work permit only that is preventing him for playing for Everton?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes. However Valencia has a plan for Onyekuru as well.}

27 Jul 2018 15:12:49
Thanks, I read about Valencia. not seen onyekuru play (other than highlights) and would be a shame if Everton can't keep hold of a talent like that, especially when (on face of it) don't seem to be inspiring our other protege. lookman.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Everton still have a Work Permit issue; Valencia would offer him the best career move, Everton money and regular football at a high-level; Gala has a contract and we don't know the terms.}

27 Jul 2018 15:26:06
Much appreciated!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 18:47:23
Still don't fully get this. He plays legally in Belgium. It seems now he can play also in Spain. Both like GB are in the EU. Do F. A rules overide EU employment law, or is it just that the British Goverment set the crirteria differently to continental Europe?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with the EU. All countries follow their local laws when dealing with Foreign workers. The rules vary considerably, as they do for clubs in respect of the number of foreign players, home grown, association trained players there are etc.. He is not eligible for a Work Permit in the UK because he does not meet the criteria.}

27 Jul 2018 22:09:08
The criteria is woefully thought out in my opinion, Onyekuru would be coming to England as an employee of a large business, he would earning a sizeable salary that would be liable for income tax, so therefore would be making a decent contribution to the country, along with being a decent potential role model for children.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 11:21:26
. well respected Spanish journalist saying this morning that there is an 80% chance of Everton sealing a double deal for Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne. we are the only teams that have submitted offers that are now accepted by Barcelona of 30 million and 19 million app.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

27 Jul 2018 13:05:04
I read that to but take it with a pinch of salt until it's all sign and sealed because read that juve are interested in digne as well but we certainly need to put a deadline on this as it seems to be dragging on and there is more additions need to are squad are lack of goals and creativity is a little worrying and so is the zonal defence Silva is employing.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 13:27:13
If Digne doesn’t want to come then go back in for Tierney. Young quality footballer who is only going to improve. As for centre back, always a little uncomfortable when we are looking at bringing players in based on what they did in the World Cup.
On another point, can we stop looking for wingers we have ample already. We need a midfielder who knows how to move the ball forward with pace and energy.
Well that’s my two bobs worth, back to the fishing. Don’t catch much, but there’s worse places to be I guess.

Agree6 Disagree2

27 Jul 2018 13:50:58
Lukaku was 99% staying - fingers crossed.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 14:45:56
Woburnblue mate I agree with you I think Tierney would be an excellent signing he has so much potential buy can't see that happening because we are are still negotiating digne who roumored he is between 17-19 million so can't see us paying 30 million Celtic want for tierney.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 15:40:17
David what happens if Digne deal goes sour? We have to have a plan b, otherwise we will have to keep poor old Bainsey going till new year bless him.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 16:47:23
Woburnblue if it was up to me I get Tierney despite the price tag but don't think club will pay 30 mil for him and and celtic will not take less than that unless they don't reach champions league group stage that is I am sure brands will have another left back as back up who I couldn't tell you but he doesn't seem a person to put all his eggs in one basket if get pun.

27 Jul 2018 17:35:27

Davy klassens just signed for werder Bremen good look Davy good pro just didn't suit the premier league.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

27 Jul 2018 10:32:44
Yeah he could have handled the entire episode appallingly considering his previous.
Possibly had the right to have been a bit of a pre Madonna
Good pro as you state but sadly just not good enough for English football.

I hope it works for him, he should have a good opportunity to rebuild his reputation and get back to where he was. Hopefully we see less of his type at our club.

Agree5 Disagree2

27 Jul 2018 10:36:39
3 managers can't be all wrong about him, tried his hardest but wasn't good enough, good luck to him, now opens a space for someone else.

Agree5 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 12:20:50
Good pro? I'd keep my gob shut if someone was paying me 100k a week for nothing.

Agree1 Disagree5

27 Jul 2018 12:57:18
2 managers that didn’t last long, Johan cruyff thought he was exceptional so I think maybe just no one got the best out of him 250 minutes is not enough to justify he is not suited for premier league, good job not all players are given that chance otherwise players would not be able to develop,

Agree3 Disagree4

27 Jul 2018 13:29:16
Myteamsbetterthanyours are you actaully serious? Hopefully we see less of his type at our club? what a player who knuckles down when told not getting a game? a player who has done absoultly nothing wrong except not be the player we hoped he would be? ad take him over mirrallas types every day of the week.

Agree3 Disagree4

27 Jul 2018 13:51:01
Yeah Johnny a player not good enough. Some of you posters really champion rubbish players due to their "great attitude" we'd be in the conference if you lot ran things. The proof of the pudding is in the eating and Davy tasted foul. Fact.

Agree5 Disagree2

27 Jul 2018 13:53:05
Well said johny, but we are in the minority.

Agree1 Disagree3

27 Jul 2018 14:01:18
Good shout Johnny. how many time has mirallas disturbed the peace at the club. petulant.

Agree1 Disagree3

27 Jul 2018 16:19:25
Leicester won the league with a squad of players "not good enough" but they worked together and put in 100% effort, so i stand by my point of ad ratger a klassen than a mirralas.

27 Jul 2018 16:50:57
You keep crying over that spilt milk boys.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 17:18:57
ould u be happy with a team of mercenaries if it ment an FA cup win? not me it would mean so much more with a team of men who wanted to play for the club.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jul 2018 17:52:52
Mercenaries? You mean anyone born outside if Liverpool who couldn't give a crap like 99.99% of players.
This badge rubbish went out in about 1980. Still people hark on about playing for the shirt.

Do you watch the game? Get real because some of you are purely delusional.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 18:51:51
do i watch the game? yea mate season ticket holder have been for years went the game last night, and I mean players who aren't interested in playing mate, like mirallas as an example he doesn't care in the slightest if he's not playing long as the wage rolls in, klassen tried hard in training and gave 100 percent everytime he played, just wernt quite good enough realised that and moved on to a team he will play in, could ov stayed seen out his contract and pocketed 100k a week. don't question my credentials as a fan mate just because we have a difference of opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 19:34:02
I can't understand how anyone can deny what everyone sees.
I agree to some degree (Miralles etc) but the love in for some of our flops is mad.
& it seems to be consistently talked about. Sorry i find it surreal. Have a good weekend Johnny.
