My mate works at Goodison they had their anual pre season meeting and he said the financial situation is a lot worse than they're letting on in public.
He said their even cutting back/reducing wages.
He reckons there could end up being a fire sale of players. {Ed025's Note - not another...my mate story..if i had a penny.......

Believable13 Unbelievable24

By the looks of it no wonder we can't afford to buy a player, Everton have 5000000 employees

Agree0 Disagree0

If you had a penny for each one you could give it to Moyes and we could outbid the likes of Man City lol

Agree0 Disagree0

-Toffeeboy-

Will you please f*ck off we dont need idiots like you posting on here with your imaginary f*ckin friends

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure your friend works there he sold me my cuppa at half time

Agree0 Disagree0

So I guess your friend is on the board of Everton then? Would imagine a meeting like that would only take place among the board with BK, Elstone and the other t**ts.

Agree0 Disagree0

If this was the case would be splattered all over the tabliods. Get a grip we know its gloomy but not life threatening

Huyton Realist

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on lads i have seen is friend at every home game looks great in that elephant gear

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey mate you might have a point there.Nobody at the club has not said a thing about the state that the club is in.I would love to have a meeting with the everton board and have a question and answer session with other concerned everton fans.what do you say bill.the man i feel so sorry for is david moyes he deserves a medal for staying with us.what do other fans think. {Ed025's Note - i agree with you buddy, we loyal supporters deserve better, and so does david..

man utd, spurs, chelsea are about start a bidding war for rodwell as their main targets stay at there clubs e.g modric, nasri, pastore.

Believable14 Unbelievable24

Id have 20m + sturridge off chelsea / 15m + defoe from spurs or 15m + gibson and welbeck on loan for the season What you think ed? {Ed025's Note - any of the above..they would all improve our side..

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take 10m + Sturridge, there is no way we'd get 20m+Sturridge. AND NOT Gibson, I support my local team also (Ayr United:Scottish First Division), the played Man UTD XI, they only lost 1-0 and Gibson was HORRIBLE.

Agree0 Disagree0

Id just do a straight swap for sturridge.just what we need.a young pacey forward who scores goals {Ed025's Note - that would work for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its no secret that all the above teams are after rodwell but hes no nasri, modric, pastore so if they are goin to bid for him it wont be on the basis of them players going to either club

Agree0 Disagree0

What is it people see in Gibson. Every time I watched him last season the commentator would go on about how good his long range shooting was, and every game he would have at least five shots from outside the area that go no where near the target. His passing is not that good either. I think he is the kind of player that belongs in the championship. I also dont rate Welbeck that highly either, Sunderland is about his level.

Agree0 Disagree0

1st post is pretty spot on, but think 10mil + Sturridge, I mean 20mil + Sturridge would equate to around 35mil. Spurs is interesting, think they have some cracking players (Krancjar, Defoe, Lennon?) who just need to get out of North London.

wouldnt mind seeing Rodwell leave, from all reports terrific lad, but with the emergence of Barkley who would command more gametime as he improves and with Mikky and Felli already in place, dont see him getting a look in so might as well sell to the highest bidder

Agree0 Disagree0

The only reason why i put gibson and welbeck was because there young and moyes can do wonders with them. Just imagine if r big names got injured i.e arteta, felli, cahill, rodwell, who wud u put in there place? Not barkley coz hes got no experience in the prem yet

tottenham to offer defoe and kranjar for rodwell by the weekend {Ed025's Note - bite their hand off..

Believable16 Unbelievable28

How is it you know this before anyone else? i tell you why its a load of rubbish but the thought it an exciting one

Agree0 Disagree0

I will give Rodders a piggy back myself down to old Arry {Ed025's Note - we can get a leg each..

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather Defoe and Lennon, Krancjar to me is a very central player and has no pace whatsoever, if we could get Defoe and Lennon in a deal that would be a terrific deal imo. Or just 10/15mil + Defoe

Agree0 Disagree0

This offer will be made in the next 24 hours.notice neither are playing tonight as for defoe and lennon for rodwell your having a laugh.how much do u think hes worth 30 million?

So Abdullayev played for us in Russia. What i understand is that he's ours but was allowed to continue playing in Azerbaijan until he got a work permit. Anybody have any news, surely we couldn't have played him if he hasn't penned down a contract of sorts?

Steve EFC Twitter: @SteveBiggert

Believable7 Unbelievable4

I had forgotten all about him Yes he is our player, signed him in January on a complicated deal that saw him loaned back to his club for the remainder of the season. The deal is for four years with a further option of two years but the contract does not commence until he qualifies for his work permit. However despite playing for the full international team aged 16, he only has played 3 times in the last three years so this may delay him completing his move. Therefore he can only play in friendlies until the permit is in place, at least thats how I understand it.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is now an Everton player but I doubt he would be playing in the first team anytime soon. {Ed025's Note - i agree

Everton to make a bid for the "King of the Wing", Aiden McGeady

www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8t_lRe4Wu0 {Ed025's Note - he is hard to get the ball off....and that comes from his own team-mates!...but in our position..i would take anyone..

Believable19 Unbelievable13

I'd love him, not a had a player like that in years {Ed024's Note - watched him lots at Celtic needs to find a final ball!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes would be nice to have a a player that runs at people on the wings coyb {Ed025's Note - i agree mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy king or nzogbia are both better than mcgeady who has worful crossing

Agree0 Disagree0

That's because he's a winger...not a midfielder...

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt mind seeing McGeady, but would imagine it would have to involve Bilyaletdinov is some sort of swap because we are not getting him without anyone being sold.

My top preference would be Lewis Holtby, seriously lads, he is a left winger, 20yrs old, can take on players, decent final ball and can score a goal or two here and there, represented the full German national side, and apparently available for some 7-8mil. AND HE HAS ALREADY SAID HOW IT IS HIS DREAM TO PLAY FOR EVERTON AND IS A MASSIVE EVERTON FAN.

Seriously, would be perfect addition to our team.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Lewis Holtby all the way However, we fiind it impossible to come up with £150k for Lonergan.....maybe we an exchange Holby for some of the backroom staff.......Elstone and Kenwright would do for a start.........

Agree0 Disagree0

"King of the wing" Is that the KFC advert??

Everton to sign Hitzlsperger and McFadden, both on a free.

Believable11 Unbelievable30

Don't kid yourself, Moyes is not stupid, he wouldn't sign McFadden and bring him back

I have a friend in the know at the red sh17E.

He informs me that they have turned there attentions to Baines to fill their Massive void at LB. Seems Camoli identifies targets using opta stats and Lenny wants british players. Baines is the stand out candidate.

Although this would mean we could keep Jags and Rodwell seems like they waited for N'Zogbia to go elsewhere first {Ed001's Note - the same Baines that Everton could have sold for 20m + players to City? Liverpool have already been told that Baines is not for sale at any price and have been looking elsewhere as a result. Yes, if he was available, they would bid for him, but so would half the Prem and a number of European sides. He is not going to Liverpool.}

Believable6 Unbelievable23

If I was Moyes if they even tried to talk to me I would say f*** off you dirty scum. Bainesy is staying at Everton, no question without a doubt, and even if there was a chance why the hell would we sell him to Liverpool?

Agree0 Disagree0

No Ed it's the same Baines city enquired about and quickly moved to cliche when Everton asked for £20m. We wouldn't ask for any of there players as none would fit our wage structure.

Never said they will get him just that they want him (which were agreed on). But as with Jags your fooling yourself if you think we are in a position to turn down a offer of £20m for any player unless we were 100% sure we would get more. {Ed025's Note - i agree with you..but it is a slippery slope..

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think Liverpool will have anymore money for transfers unless they sell themselves now. I'm quite happy with their spending spree so far. It's the clubs money they are spending not the owners. They will be in the s**t next year when they are out of the Champions League again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we always talk about Liverpool on our own page. Lets worry about ourselves {Ed025's Note - i dont think we talk about them...they talk about us! we just answer them..they come on here giving us stick, and generally bad mouthing us..well im not having it!, they will get short shrift from me!...i will always fight in the blue corner, cos its just the way i am..COYB..

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ed he could be a red himself anyway stirring it up cos they have nothin better to do {Ed001's Note - I am a red and I am saying there is no slippery slope and Everton won't sell Baines. He is not going to join Liverpool, but Liverpool have no money worries and they are setting their budget based on not making the Champions League next season. Everton will reject any offers for Baines, but they are willing to sell players from the centre of midfield and defence. The club does not have money to throw around but they are not about to go under, it is just a case of selling to buy. The players to be sold will be ones that are easily replaced, not those that are essential to the side.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001, you're the only reasonable red i've seen on this site. {Ed001's Note - unfortunately there are very few reasonable fans on any site, everyone seems to base their thinking on FM11!}

Agree0 Disagree0

@Fourth_Official Fourth Official
Just asked Bainsey about Liverpool links "there's more chance of me winning the next Grand prix...no chance"

Hope this stops the red supporters posting about Baines going to the dark side.

Work at goodison rumour around here that orbatan is coming on yrs loan with a view 2 a 5m deal

Believable10 Unbelievable16

Ed please ban this lunatic from football rumours, talking absolute rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that would actually be a good deal if it happened. Obertan's form has been patchy at Utd but he is good on the ball and I think his form would improve if he was given a run of games in our team over a season.

A loan with an agreed purchase fee option would also make it risk free.

*whiteshadow* {Ed025's Note - i like the guy...but it is a rumour site..

Agree0 Disagree0

Has anyone realised how many people work at Goodison these days? Maybe that is why we cant afford to buy anyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2011 11:00:00
Any news today then fellow blues and Ed?? Looks like nzogbia a no go. Well done BK, another one gone I dont think we are going to sign anyone before the start of the season. What happened to moyes saying he was going to get his signings in before pre-season. I know this was proberbly depending on a few sales, but lets be realistic the sales wouldnt have brought in that much (yobo and yak) so you would think we must have a bit of money to spend otherwise why did moyes stay? I havnt heard of us putting in an offer for anyone yet, except for demba ba and that was only a contract and we still didnt get him. Whats going on?

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Ba failed a medical, Nzogbia would be a great asset but thats not the position that DM has made his top priority, therefore until we sign a top quality centre forward we won't be blowing big money on wingers or central midfielders. {Ed025's Note - fair shout..

***Maiden***

Lids - I just don't get everyone worrying about a lack of transfers

We don't have money, so its not going to happen yet unless we sell Yak and Yobo.

If that happens - then a striker is all we need.

Just take a look at our squad. Howard, Baines, Jags, Distin, Neville, Jonny H, Seamus, Arteta, Cahill, Rodders, Fellaini, Ossie, Saha, Beckford.

Couple that with Barkley, Velios and a few other hungry kids to come and make an impact later in games and we are rocking.

One striker will do it.

IMWT

Believable13 Unbelievable5

"Lids" - that was always used by Woolton boys trying to look like they live just off Scottie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldnt agree with you more mate if we havnt got money then dont spend it like you said we have a very good squad an why get ourselves in financial trouble when you cant afford it
