I'd rather he goes to Chelsea over anywhere else in England, to be honest.
City: it'll look like he's gone for money
United: I just hate United
Liverpool: don't even think about it
Arsenal: not enough of a step up to justify leaving yet

But at Chelsea he'll be playing under the greatest centre back of the generation, in a team that'll compete For everything and will almost certainly become England's best centre back. If he must leave, I want him to go where he'll develop best.

Agree6 Disagree0

26 Aug 2015 06:06:20
Don't give a toss where he goes. Whoever offers the most can have him, simples.

Correction to the above:

City: it'll look like he's gone for money
United: it'll look like he's gone for money
Liverpool: don't even think about it
Arsenal: it'll look like he's gone for money

oh and

Chelsea: it'll look like he's gone for money

So he has handed in a transfer request, if Chelsea come back with £40m we should knock it back and say how can you view David Luiz at £50m when he is a rubbish centre back! You want him beat that! We still don't actually need to sell and let's be honest. they really need to replace Terry!

i really don't see what the fuss is about js , I have watched him in every game he has played and I do not think he is as good as everyone says ok he has age on his side but what is the point of keeping someone who does not want to play for everton and people are forgetting the man he plays beside who covers a lot of cracks every week(jags) deserves some credit, so wish him luck and let him go there will always be another in the wings, move on

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I'm not a fan of Fazio either! Didn't he get back to back red cards in his first 2 games for Spurs? Why not ask Phil nev to fill in for a while?

I know some inside information. Stones got persuaded to join chelsea from talks with Garry Cahill and John Terry. Stones wants to play in the champions league and improve his chance on become England's captain, hence why he's leaving, but he wants to get Everton money from his transfer, he wants £36,000,000, which has already been agreed between the clubs.

Had you stopped at the champ league bit it might have made sense. He's miles away from being England captain, so why you think that? Oh wait of course Terry was captain, makes perfect sense not!

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 22:15:34
I wish John stones sees sense and realizes that there aren't that many youngsters that get a mainstay in Chelsea's side. Look at sahal, schurlle, de bryne, bertrand even as far back as sturridge and glen Johnson, young players don't get played. This could easily ruin his career. Says a lot when you hear all pundits that were defenders telling him not to leave. Southgate carragher and ball this week alone

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Aug 2015 00:10:25
let him make the same mistake as all the others. Chelsea have 26 players loaned out across Europe. Its like some kind or collection for an over-rich Russian oligarch. Take the money and stay in the real world. I am a proud evertonian, and nothing makes me prouder than the fact that we are a real club, run by real people with real fans. Amen

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Aug 2015 02:48:22
Chelsea fan in peace stones is never going to better himself stopping at Everton also Chelsea have got a rich Russian but he's not going to be paying out the £30/£35million you need for stones and stones not be playing I think he's learned a little ( forget about caudrado another learning curve lol) have you watched are back line in the last few matches stones will be in that starting line up IF he signs for Chelsea with in the month. Agree1 Disagree0

26 Aug 2015 14:15:03
Everybody hates Chelsea because we win things and players want to win things that's why they come. And about replacing John terry we have a banner that says captain leader legend that's been there for years does that mean he's going to play for ever he out did himself last year and again was the best centre back in England now why wouldn't JS want to learn off one of the greats. This year things seem to have caught up on him as of now but that doesn't make us plastic players come and go it's football look at lampard best goal scoring midfielder to grace the premier league do we keep him just because of that , no he moves on Chelsea move on you've got to move on with the times players do want more money just like you and I would do in or jobs and players also want to challange for and win trophies there careers are not that long so money/trophies is what excites players something that Chelsea can offer unfortunately what Everton can't really. Peace #makinghistory#

banner should read (overrated scumbag) legend my arse to have him as a captain is a disgrace best defender last year what a joke has not bin for years even carvalho carried him during his time there great role model he be prob the biggest scumbag in prem league long past his best oh yeah he also an unfaithful cheating rat learn a lot from him alright

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2015 17:17:31
There's world class strikers around the world and defenders and ex pros saying that he's one England's best defenders still, and there's you and others slagging him who most likely think you no football but don't really sat with the paper picking out your fantasy football team thinking you no it all he was your captain if your English and the things he's done in football and won if stones gets half he will be remembered but he isn't going to do that at Everton and terry why u brought his personal life into What has that got to do with it I don't no why u brought that up (jealously) maybe. In your job if you have one if someone is going to offer you better pay with more career opportunities to better yourself your going to do it, it really is that simple that's why you don't attract big stars 40million buys us one player it will most likely get u 4/5. It's just business and that's what football is now business run. Your board may take some of that as well to line there pockets so prob two players. That's the difference between top and mid table teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - for a start nobby..its know not no...and on terry you must see that this guy is an absolute low life scumbag, besides the ferdinand stuff he was banging his mates bird!, and yes it is pertinent, these players are role models for young people...he is a vile human being..

25 Aug 2015 20:57:13
My cousin is mates with john stones agent, he wants to leave as there offering £120k per week, but he has definitely has Not put a transfer request in, the club have had a offer of 35 million with add ons witch they see as to good to turn down but have asked him to go along with the transfer request story to save face after all the talk of not letting him go at all costs! And for the agent fees they are capped now so it makes no difference how much he goes for! He also did joe harts deal at man City!

Believable1 Unbelievable8

reports are breaking john stones has handed in a transfer request to leave for chelsea

Believable4 Unbelievable5

25 Aug 2015 17:37:26
Why would he? He's only 21, he's playing every week in a good team with good players around him, getting paid a good wage and not too far from home. Just a load of media ball ship IMO.

Agree0 Disagree5

25 Aug 2015 18:14:11
He has it's in the yellow bar on ssn

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 19:13:39
Do you still believe in santa bobbymartin? He will be forcinga move as the club are standing in his way of earning more money to sit in the bench. Fair play the way you assessed the situation but in modern day football none of that counts, his age irrelevant as he is already capped, his wage can be better, the players around him better and being closer to home he can just drive or get a train.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Aug 2015 18:52:56
Quelle Suprise

It's our Business Model

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 19:29:34
Nothing confirmed from the club yet?

And so he has handed in a request, they still need to match our valuation and it's a request not an ultimatum!

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 19:52:56
Like the club talks to its fans, ST? More communication with a brick wall!

About Stones: Great player, but not overly arsed; its time the board show their intentions now though. Need to invest the money back in the club. Know they wont, but Bill's a blue so it's okay!

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 19:58:51
Do you blame him? He knows he isn't going to get CL football with us any time soon, or be challenging for the PL title, but we're not even showing any signs of progress or ambition. He knows he's in a good place and doesn't seem to be the type of lad to chase money, but we look like going backwards rather than forwards so how could you expect him to stay. When Stoke, Palace, Villa etc are all pushing on, there isn't a huge incentive to stay. Just my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 20:17:41
35m and stones stays for the rest of this season on loan, or 30 m and zouma permanent. Plus Chelsea to pay Barnsley off aswell.

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Aug 2015 20:23:42
The club are publishing reports about it on social media but nothing concrete from the club. Why would the club post stories such as "everton have bounced back from selling it's stars before" pic of Rooney and stones if it's a non story.
We have lost him I reckon

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 20:33:40
If he wants to go, let him go but on our terms. Nothing less than 40M and only when we have a decent replacement. This is a huge week for our club, if we don't sign any "decent" players and I don't mean for the future, then I don't think there is any way back for Kenwright

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 22:53:36
I actually rate zouma and I think they have a top drawer player on there hands he must feel bad at moment as he must think he has a chance of breaking into this Chelsea team, not now let's be fair if stones ain't going to play much it will make zouma 4th choice at best.
£38m + zouma and you have a deal all money up front

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - just wont happen though.}

25 Aug 2015 16:51:17
ssn transfer centre reporting Stones has handed in transfer request. Bad news

Believable4 Unbelievable1

25 Aug 2015 17:15:35
If he wants to go it should not be sanctioned until a replacement is bought and then at a price that we value him at not what Chelsea want to pay. There is no loyalty in football nowadays. Players play for the noughts in there bank accounts only.

Agree5 Disagree1

25 Aug 2015 17:45:47
Already said it but I agree with most comments on here regarding Stones. I hope the Club do a Levy and stick strongly to their guns, if he is to leave then slap a true valuation on him (40-45 mill), stick rigidly to it and let all suitors know that. Also not allowed to leave until a like for like replacement is signed.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 19:58:38
I know that players play for money these days but really what can we offere long term, nothing, develop for 5 years then you can move you might even get a semi finals in the fa cup on the way, we haven't won anything for 20 years we don't compete at the highest level so deciding maybe the guys who won the league last year and are a mainstay in the champs league is just a money thing is daft, maybe a factor but that's all

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Aug 2015 20:44:14
Don't delude yourself Mike it's all about money. That's how agents make their cash., their not interested in medals only money. That's why these greedy buggers are happy to sit on there arses warming the bench. They couldn't care less about medals, just give me the MONEY!

Agree1 Disagree2

25 Aug 2015 21:36:37
The likes of Man U and City will come in, now they know, I hope if he does go he chooses one of those instead of Chelsea

25 Aug 2015 17:47:48
Oh yeah forgot about the Barnsley 20 percent, in that case Chelsea or whoever should be told we want at least 40 mill plus the 20 percent sell on fee to Barnsley,

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Aug 2015 16:32:07
Stones hands in transfer request get rid for 40 mil otherwise let him play in under 21s head been turned by money

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Aug 2015 17:12:39
His head has more likely been turned by trophies. I'm disappointed that he's handed in the request. I expected him to go but because the bid made us want to sell him rather than him forcing a move away. If he goes I want a better centre half than the one we've bid for. We need someone with experience of British football.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - his head has been turned pod...but its the money mate, and dont let anyone tell you different..

25 Aug 2015 17:15:20
I wouldn't say it is entirely money, though it obviously plays a big part.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i beg to differ mate..if they offered him the same wage as what we were paying do you think he would have gone...NO..

25 Aug 2015 17:20:36
Pod it's all about the money, the agents don't want trophies they want cash, cash and more cash.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - your spot on woburn..

25 Aug 2015 17:29:21
If Chelsea said john your up and coming and were willing to pay you 10k a week until you play 25 plus games a season for us.

He would want to play for Everton instead.

I don't blame him more money is obviously better. but he should be thankful that we took a punt on him and he's not playing for Wigan.

He should of stay with us play the season improve and then after the euros say he's off but the board and Chelsea would of had a year to prepare.

Loyalty is dead

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 18:22:50
Any professional sportsman wants to play at the highest level. Let's face it Chelsea can offer him that, we can't. I am gutted if he goes but surely 40mil ish can improve the squad. The biggest downside is time to spend it is running out

Agree1 Disagree2

25 Aug 2015 19:26:10
Any lad dreams of winning titles and trophies, but let's not gloss over the fact that his agent has got in his ear and has turned his head with promises of money. Not that anyone should blame him. If we could all do the same job with the same hours for double the money, we would.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - treble im hearing..

25 Aug 2015 20:13:51
You get bought for 30 + mil your not ever going to get the same wages your arguments idiotic, plus Chelsea play more games than we do so in fairness he has to do more hours

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 20:29:32
I want him to stay ed like you but let's look objectively. Have we offered him more than his 30k a week? Is he worth more? Yes. Can we offer him anything other than midtable mediocracy? No. Can they offer him money and more? Yes. I'm in a similar situation at my work. Love the company love the people but for me to establish the life I want I require more than they can offer and it's not just my salary mate it's my personal objectives in life.
Just get as much as we can. Move on. Last time this happened we finished 4th.
Is there a guy called Sammy Mayhill in the championship or a Spanish kid called pickled marteta we can pick up on the sly like last time?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - you make a valid point svenny mate, still bloody stings though..

25 Aug 2015 20:40:44
I understand all the crap about winning trophies an all but all he can see is pound signs in front of his eyes plus the timeing of this transfer request leaves a lot to be desired he must of known a couple of weeks back that he wanted to join the crap from Stamford bridge so he leaves it till a week before the transfer window so we have limited time to replace him as it turns out he is just like sterling didn't think I would be saying that let's just hope everton stay firm on what they have been saying from the start and he is not for sale if he is still at the club it will be very intresting to see what reaction he will get from the crowd on match day.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 21:25:09
How many of you saying he's only going for the money would turn down a job offer of 120k a week? I know I wouldn't. Especially when your that young

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 22:11:34
Good point Duke, the timing is poor. The transfer window needs to shut on July 31st not August 31st. Squads need to be finalised before the start of the season, so we don't have this situation.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

25 Aug 2015 16:34:51
£40m the transfer fee then I won't be too upset. He loses his loyalty fee and we only have to pay Barnsley 20% of 40m. don't want to lose him but let's be honest it seemed inevitable he would be leaving so get as much as you can. But let's see if its media nonsense or the truth

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 16:35:27
Barca interested in Yarma ding dong, that is on countback the 5th or 6th Club he has been touted to, we are better off out. As for funds (God knows where the TV money goes) at the moment 500k for Leandro would appear to be our limit, so odds on Stones to Chelsea with the bookies. My take and hope is that with 7 days to go, should Chelsea put in a 40 mill bid it should also be rejected and the Club sticks to their guns. No PR for months and then they wheel out Martinez and his waffle maker.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it is mate but you never know how these things pan out..

25 Aug 2015 13:43:38
Can't believe what I'm reading on this sounds like a load of Newcastle fans who still believe there a top side a limited budget means you can't bring in everyone like on champ manager. Everton are one of the teams who are in the best of the rest category which means the transfers reflect this, the manager can only do what he can with a small budget and this calling for his name and smashing into him is disgusting rather then looking over the fence we need to look at our own garden and see what we have to work with not the tools others have at their disposal if we got behind the players instead of getting on their backs that could be more productive. Times of the people's club seem to have gone a long time ago

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its just frustration randa, when the window closes and we see what we have im sure things will improve mate..

25 Aug 2015 16:41:12
Ha Ha Kingy, Kone, McGeady, Alcatrash. Kone in particular, just as he comes goodish, RM plays him on the wing leaving Mirallas and Delofeu on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2015 17:07:41
cant see barca going for yarmlenko he just doesn't fit there syle of play and arsenal already have wingers as for utd I don't see it I think its the ukranians just trying to whip up intrest in him so they get an auction so his price reaches something silly than it already is 15 mill for a player with 1 year on his contract. the player himself won't rush for a move because he knows he will be in for a big pay day next year when his contract runs out

Hi spudv, I still believe the deal is on, you have to remember this lad is showbiz for there country he is loved and like a national treasure, he has lots of sponsors and so you have to understand a deal like this does take time Ukraine will want this to go to the wire and to be honest from there point of view I can understand that media coverage, so don't be put off by our press saying no deal, a famous Ukraine commentator has said he is 99% sure a deal is being done I believe him more than the sun, star or echo

We can't afford to wait around and then be let down last minute. We need players, sooner the better!
