Daily mail claim Everton ready to seek permission from Wigan to speak to Martinez. Reason why I think Martinez will get the job is 1. he will not pressure board for funds. 2. he will watch his best players get sold from under his nose and just say nothing like at Wigan. 3. he is liked by the media. Reasons why Periera won't get the job he is the opposite of all the above that is my only take on it so it looks like it will be Martinez his name just won't go away. Stef the blue

Believable12 Unbelievable10

Pereira sat back and watched the Porto players get sold. That's the reason he is leaving, their fans didn't like the fact he didn't stand up to the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold in there stef, periera is on his way next week!

Agree0 Disagree0

Please don't let this be true, someone on this site said he was a winner, but he has loser in his dna, don't want him anywhere near our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was all a little bit doom and gloom Stef

Agree0 Disagree0

Stef- I wouldn't take a blind bit of notice what the daily fail says, or any other tabloid for that matter. They're all parasites at the end of the day, blood sucking leeches out for their pound of flesh. They'll do and say anything to sell newspapers.

I have it on good authority --------- (insert name) is the new Everton manager, from a good sauce (HP).
This is cast iron defo going to happen next week sometime.
Honest I guarantee it!
Mr Blue Sky

Believable21 Unbelievable9

Your a liar mate as simple as that. {Ed025's Note - there is no name?...how can he be lying!!!..

Sorry BlueSky but I must object!. HP has gone to hell since the health warriors took the salt out. tastes nothing like it used to. !

Does anybody know why Vitor Perira was invited to a Everton match over the christmas period by the club. Stef the blue

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Probably just to get some learning experience and try and get some new ideas. I know that Moyes, especially earlier in his tenure, would ask clubs all over Europe if he could go over there and watch them play/train.

Actually a common practice amongst managers, Malky Mackay also visited Finch Farm this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, he wanted to see a pantomime and was

Frank Rijkaard anyone?

Believable2 Unbelievable19

If he's appointed, I'd spit.
Oh, that's his forte isn't it? Ask Rudi Voller about that!
RhinoSoreAss

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, he's not doing anything at the moment, and he does like clubs without money ( as well as the dry rich!).
Managed Sparta Rotterdam, who ave never had a bean to pend, so won't find our finances that much of a problem.
I'd love to see him at Goodison, but somehow can't see it appen: it's too much of a statement for the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2013 22:09:08
I'd love Harry to come to manage us. That would mean we had been taken over and had just short of £200 mill to spend on players we be bang on for a top 6 finish then.

Believable6 Unbelievable17

Send us down more like

Agree0 Disagree0

If he does come, I guarantee we wouldn't be waiting for the last day of the window to sign someone. classic harry being interviewed from the car window

Agree0 Disagree0

Harry would surely do to us what Tommy Docherty did to Rotherham United when he managed them in the old Football League Division Two in the late 1960s. He promised their chairman he'd get them out of the division. He did - he got them relegated to the third division!

Just to further strengthen my earlier posts. 1) VP declined a new contract with Porto. 2) spoke to chairman of one of the al svenskan finalists and he says VP was tied up long ago.

Svenny

Believable17 Unbelievable6

Whos al svenskan {Ed007's Note - The Allsvensken is the Swedish league.}

Agree0 Disagree0

He said he would make his decision monday wether or not he would sign he seems to be slipping away from us Svenny. Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

So why hasn't he signed then if he was tied up a long time ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Why haven't we confirmed it yet Svenny? Surely if it was a done deal it would have been announced already?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tied up to what? a tree? a chair? who's going to cut him loose? and who is al svenskan finalists? is he our next manager or secret board member? did he tie VP up?
some one free him, he might need the toilet!

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair to Svenny he could be right as VP has said nothing in public so far, and we're only going off what the Porto chairman has said and he doesn't strike me as being very trustworthy.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is where the doubt stems from. If it was tied up and all done and dusted, why is there no announcement from either party? VP is soon to be out of contract, so minimal, if any, compensation can be claimed. Sounds like there are clauses in both sides' 'agreement' and VP is keeping his options open and EFC open to interviewing other candidates.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he has not signed yet is because his contract does not run out until the 1st June like moyes.

Agree0 Disagree0

1st July like Moyes. I guarantee Periera will not be Everton manager

Agree0 Disagree0

You defeat your own argument above re Moyes contract 1st June.

Redknapp for Everton? what a joke, where do the bookies get this useless info from although I suppose he might try & hijack all of moyes Man U. Deals in the summer lol.
As I have said & keep saying, vitor periera is evertons chosen man & will be unveiled as the clubs new manager sometime next week & wants to bring 'atsu' with him.

Believable7 Unbelievable17

Perhaps they (bookies) invent it like some others do. In fact, that's almost certainly what they do to drum up business.

Not a chance about Redknapp. Getting bored of these stupid rumours. I actually don't believe anything anyone has said. Personally I think Martinez is waiting on us to tell him what were doing and have a horrible feeling that it could be Lennon. no source or I don't know the tea ladys cat who works with my great uncle but get the feeling its all been quiet because of the scottish cup final on Sunday.

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Redknapp is so obviously just the latest guy for the bookies to try and convince fans to put silly money on.

I agree redknapp will never commute all that way

Why don't we put a million on a hundred to one manager, then change a week later and spend on players?

Bill K

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Because that would be a breach of fiduciary duties.

Harry Redknapp is now favorite with all bookmakers. This is it folks, Redknapp is the new everton manager, expect confirmation within hours my source (agent) tells me.

Believable3 Unbelievable20

Please no

Agree0 Disagree0

What sort of agent?
An estate agent who's selling a local property to the new manager?
A newsagent who's been asked to start delivering foreign (Portugese?) papers to a local address?
A theatrical agent that BK has confided in?
A secret agent whose cover is being a hot dog vendor outside Goodison Park?
Or maybe it's "Agent Johnson" who's bitter and twisted about his exit from Everton?

24 May 2013 18:27:54
Maybe wrong but I can't see Redknapp moving to Merseyside to manage Everton he likes living in Sandbanks, my money is on Solskjear - well I hope so as I have had a little bet!

By the way I am a Spurs fan and I think given the time, support and a little bit of cash he maybe able to do what AVB did for us.

PS: Fergie and Moyes will surely loan you Players!

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Cheers mate. Avb did a good job with you guys IMO. would nt want Harry though. no time for the chap. and don't rate him. did well with b'mouth. but guys approach seems to be chuck money at it. otherwise he's void of all ideas. a luxury efc don't really have. jlaff

You can see they only want Martinez, a replacement should of been lined up straight away.

Agree0 Disagree0

Transfer market does not open for another month. why is this an issue. let's get the manager in. beginning of June (latest) make his assessment and then plan who he wants. as I am writing this it dawned on me that it may be better to have a manager familiar with the premierleague and the current everton squad as a replacement such that he already knows the teams strengths and deficiencies. maybe a premiereship / uk football virgin / foreign manager is the wrong tactic? just a thought. jlaff

It may be that the manager Bill wants is still in contract and has a game to play!
Just because Manchester United have no class and approach managers before the season is over doesn't mean we have to. No matter what we do we'll do it properly.

Harry redknapp second fav for the job NO WAY! He will destroy our club, we want VP in charge

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Lawyers drawing up Ole gunnar solskjaer's contract at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I the only bloke who thinks Harry Redknapp's a decent manager on here? Mission impossible at QPR working with a load of muppets but he's got more silverware to his name than many (including DM). Call me bonkers but I'd be much happier with this appointment than someone who I don't know from overseas who's unproven in the premiership. We could do a lot worse than Harry

Dog Puke Peter {Ed025's Note - i think that would be hard peter!

Why doesn't BK and the board put 10 million on Hope Powell at 200/1 to be our next manager, sack her after 1 day for Pereira/Martinez, and voila! There's our new stadium and future transfers sorted in a 1er. far fetched I agree, but not as far fetched as the amount of posters on here who claim to know a "reliable source". We'll get who we get when we get him. or her, if Hope Powell does get the job

nothing has been sorted yet it will be 2weeks or more. Martinez is the wrong man for the job if he wanted to come he would be here by now the fact is if he thinks staying at Wigan is abetter option than joining Everton then I don't want him it should of been a easy decision to make are setup is much better than Wigan's and that's what he is in talks with Whelan about at Wigan so I think we can all rule that one out Everton don't want him {Ed025's Note - or maybe he is waiting for a decision from everton before he resigns from his job?..

Bill Kenwright impressed with way Nigel Clough has built team at Derby and transformed their academy set up. thinks this is the way the Blues should go and will step up pursuit of Clough not other managers now that Martinez has decided to stay at Wigan.

Clough leaving with former Everton Craig Short as asistant and will bring right back John Brayford to club in first transfer.

all done and dusted by June 1st!

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Hope this is true as woods is clearly a terrible gk coach- just look at how howard's kicking and general keeping haven't improved. and round appears to be a moyes yes man. bring back irvine as number 2

1878barlow

Agree0 Disagree0

Not suggesting him as new manager, but, everton's best football, under moyes, is when alan Irving was first team coach. IMHO, Round has been a very negative inflance.

I'll drive them there myself

Agree0 Disagree0

Lumsden is going to United as well apparently.
Joe EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted what I heard earlier this week from a mate who is at itv sport on the Telly - vp met with bk on Tuesday night in London and apparently he and nev will be the team. Round, Jimmy L and Chris woods are off to OT. Some if that seems to have happened so fingers crossed for the announcement, which my mate thought would be today just because the media works that way for the weekend papers etc. I hope he's right, it sounds like a move in the right direction for us rather than some of the other names being suggested.

Craig EFC

Believable6 Unbelievable17

Hopefully to give him a long awaited slap for calling us a small club!

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't shoot him down just yet as far as I'm aware benitez didn't make Billy's short list don't you find that strange to say his cv is tenfold any of the others involved his family are settled in liverpool he's out of contract the blues can have him on the cheap every day the bookies have a new favourite that means they havnt got a clue very hush hush don't you think I see it as a good thing for EFC give it a year and nobody will remember he was a red when your in Europe all the best

Agree0 Disagree0

More rubbish. yes rafa still with chelsea and in america since season ended. tp.

Agree0 Disagree0

That doesn't mean it's rubbish listen do you think utd got moyes in a day no chance he has been picked for a while that's why there's no compo because moyes wasn't forced by bill to resign in my eyes everyone new for some time and I think it could be the case with this one bill had a man in mind I wonder who that stand out person was? I know if I was bill I'd have a stand out person in my head too. benitez a world class manager who wants to stay in England to be with his family in liverpool go for it bill

Agree0 Disagree0

I've just had a thought folks, tv announced a couple of nights ago that they were led to believe that everton had devised a short list of 8 candidates for the hot seat (hardly a short list), but wasn't it the same news channel tv who only a couple of seasons ago announced right at the end of a transfer deadline window that we had bid 6 million quid for jack but land which proved to be a complete pack of lies, so why should we believe them about this list of 8 candidates. As I said yesterday, vitor perriera has got the job & will be announced as new everton manager some time next week, maybe as early as Monday or Tuesday. Coyb

Solomon you do seem intent to stick with your thought that vp has got the job. tell me what makes you so sure. I hope your right. but why is it taking so long.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like you're having doubts about your confident prediction!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its funny solomon because you said last week martinez had the job

Agree0 Disagree0

He also claimed Lennon was a nailed on certainty for the job. Tells you everything you need to know, in a nutshell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Solomon Grundy:- Lennon on Monday, Martinez on Tuesday, Pereira on Wednesday, who's next? {Ed025's Note - purple ackie?

King solomons mimes!

I did say yesterday about OLE GUNNER, 16/1 then down to 4/1 in places

I'm told it will be announced by Monday.

MARTINEZ will not be in the hot seat. he is staying with WIGAN

Believable17 Unbelievable9

How do you know. what's your source

Agree0 Disagree0

Biffy:

If this is true I for 1 am a very happy and relieved Evertonian!

Agree0 Disagree0

Molde are currently bottom of the Norwegian league. Its not true

Agree0 Disagree0

Very nice guy, but for the sake of our club, hope this is right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was told this last week backed at 50s, 33s, 25s. If he does get the job I will be a happy man {Ed025's Note - i think your gunner be disappointed mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

You do know bookies cut odds because a lot of people have been putting bets on, not because they have some inside info

Agree0 Disagree0

People are not listening, it will be announced Monday after the cup final north of the border. you may not like the idea but its going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling it will be O'Neill

I never post rumours but just enjoy the banter with you guys, just pointing out a spark in our place has just had £50 on Laudrup at 33/1, he told me he has heard from a very good source, personally think he is talking balderdash myself but would not be suprised if his odds started dropping soon too

We seem to be getting a lot of managers according to everyone

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Degsey I think your right I have it from a very reliable source "in the know" that the bookies have reduced the odds to entice punters to take a gamble on the next Everton manger. My source also says that the new manager will not be announced today but in the future. That some will be pleased but others will think that the board should have selected someone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats all very mistic Meg of you!

Think we are going to get Martinez he's a winner I think it will be the start of trophys coming to Goodison. Thomas Paul

Believable3 Unbelievable22

Relegation = winning?

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like we are going to get him but don't agree witg the rest your saying. people ssy wigan have got some decent players. martinez must be rubbish then. he took them down remember

Agree0 Disagree0

Winner? He won 38 games in four years and took his side down. Failure is a better description.

Since June 2009: 176 goal conceded, 51 wins, 47 draws, 78 losses, win rate 28. 98%.

Piss poor stats mate. Mick Mcarthy had a similar record.

Agree0 Disagree0

He won a trophy FA Cup why do people look on the negative side all the time. Thomas Paul.

Agree0 Disagree0

People need to remember Joe Royle took Oldham down before he became our manager the next season won our last trophy didn't he.

Agree0 Disagree0

People look on the negative side because on the WHOLE he has flirted with relegation season after season. Jewell and Bruce had statistically better league placings, I don't see them being touted for the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thomas Paul:

'' He won a trophy FA Cup why do people look on the negative side all the time. ''

Cup Comps. are pure theatre and roller coaster raffle ticket football i. e. you have no control over who or where you play.

Any one who trys to equate the PL and the FA Cup must be living on a different planet!

Mate with all due respect think before you type!

Agree0 Disagree0

Winning a cup requires a little bit of luck, but the league doesn't lie
I'll be gutted if we get Martinez, I've wanted Pereira from the start but feel he'll end up at Malaga : (
No matter who we end up with I'll still fully support the team and give the new guy a chance but I'd be very worried instead of being excited!

Yeah so much of a winner with that 19% win percentage as Wigan manager. NO THANKS

Agree0 Disagree0

If you think he is a winner, I refer you to the fact that over the last FOUR YEARS he has won 6 premiership games per season. thanks but no thanks, may he conntinue his winning ways at wigan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know what you been smoking or wether thers a rarified air on your planet but please martinez can not be described as a winner

harry rednapp down to 12/1. massive betting on him. help.

Believable5 Unbelievable18

He'd never move from Sandbanks, plus he's contracted and BK is too tight to pay compensation

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil Neville taking his A licence today have it on good authority it will be him as our next manager won't be announced until June though

Agree0 Disagree0

If it's not a wind-up and people really are putting bets on Redknapp, the bookies must love those mug punters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't a manager in the Premier League need a "Pro" Licence, which follows on from the "B" and "A" Licences? For longer-serving managers, I believe dispensation is granted because of on-the-job experience. I expect Phil Neville would also need dispensation, but in his case based on him obtaining a "Pro" Locence within a specified time. Anyone know for sure?

Agree0 Disagree0
