According to transfer insider on twitter Rooney bid imminent utd won't stand in his way . And Chelsea in for Barkley!

Believable1 Unbelievable5

21 Jun 2017 21:50:22
IF the Rooney deal was possible would us fans want him? My gut feeling is no, but it was only a year ago quite a few of us wanted Wesley Sneijder who is very similar to Rooney as his best years are behind him but had undoubtable quality and great experience. It's a tough call.

Still goals in the tank @.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2017 22:29:52
And looks like a tank. Not for me, I am looking forward to the Everton of the future we are buolding, he had no sentiment for us when he went to United as he felt he was better than us at that time, well times have changed and we are now better in a better position to attract better players.

Apparently according to Ed002 Chelsea aren't interested in Barkley. Can see him going to Arsenal myself.

I think it's going to be United.

Rooney WAS too good for Everton at the time, and look at how the club benefited from his sale? don't be so short sighted.
i for one would take him back in heart beat - if the financial package makes sense. Mourinho abused him, he has plenty left to give, best years behind him or not, he'll have a point to prove.

We have a manager who won a great amount as a player. He has a squad of young players who are winning their age group trophies (u23 league last season, u20 World Cup) our senior squad players have experience of never winning anything except Barry. The only reason I would Wayne back is because he's won it all. We need more winners to infect the mindset of the squad. Zlatan was so priceless for utd last season not really for his goals but he wins and demands the same from his colleagues. Rooney could influence more off the pitch than on it.

Agree Svenny the only sticking point is his wage demands.

22 Jun 2017 09:32:20
I like the fact Rooney was abused at £250,000 a week lol. I'd like to be abused for that amount.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - me too mowfee..

22 Jun 2017 09:20:04
He is overpriced, cannnot see any top team bidding for him to be honest not unless we reduce the fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2017 10:15:16
Rooney's finished in this league mate. No one really knows where his best position is anymore. I'm not sure he even knows. He hasn't got the legs to be a midfielder, hasn't got the pace or turn of foot to be a striker. So where does that leave him. personally and this from a Chelsea fan that Everton shouldn't be looking at him. Think you've got some better options out there and much younger and cheaper too. And with Koeman as manager, I'd expect you to go far.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you adam..

22 Jun 2017 10:16:42
Rooney has a point to prove to himself and everybody else but specially to us Evertonians.

So where else can he go? He doesn't want to play for any other club in the PL apart from Everton. China is a non starter for family reasons.

He's got more money than he knows what to do with!

So Everton or USA?

I am sure he wants Everton but he can't be embarrassed by an offer and therein lies the problem.

He wants a free transfer from United so that Everton can pay him what is in his opinion his worth.

He wants to play football and be motivated.

So his choice will be see out his contract at United or move to Everton.

If he does come to us he will be motivated and determined which clearly he is not presently.

Whether he is worth the gamble is an entirely different subject.

Any actual truth to this Brozovic bid going around eds? Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - links are saying we have had a bid of £16m rejected joe but in not sure about that mate..

21 Jun 2017 20:27:23
Ed is there any truth that Milan have to raise €19mill in the next nine days to meet Ffp rules so have to sell someone?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - UEFA are investigating irregularities in their finances smit but i dont know of any figures mate..

21 Jun 2017 20:46:19
I read an article stating we had a £16m bid turned down and then said they want £22m for him.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - then if we want him we should just pay the money ST..

21 Jun 2017 22:15:35
The figure is 30m.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2017 23:42:10
No they want 20-25 million Euros but are willing to listen to offers due to the time sensitive situation of FFP.

If we bid 20 mill we would get him, which we should do, he is top drawer. To make the next step up to the top 4 you need a top quality bench as well as a top quality 11.

If we can change from having to bring on players like Kone, Valencia, Mirallas Pennington off the bench to the likes of Brozovic, Lookman, Sig/ Barkley/ Klaasen/ Ramirez/ Dembele. 7 decent attackers but only 4 available spots. that's when we have a chance at top 4.

Having a solid 16 players not just a good 11.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jun 2017 06:33:53
I agree Ed in the grand scheme of things it's not much more and would add quality to our midfield options.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Milan are in a lot of trouble, the owner had to borrow the money to buy the club from a hedge fund that are very aggressive in seeking their money back. So he needs to ensure that there is some cash in the coffers to start paying that back. Everton would be mad to just pay the money, there is a deal to be done there.}

21 Jun 2017 16:26:34
Reports stating we've had a bid for Inter's Brozovic knocked back. Sure we'll go back in if we're keen. That would definitely mean that McCarthy was off - we'll end up with too many CMs otherwise. Hope this one comes off, the lad was quality in the Euros.

Hi Ed, I'm seeing today that Chelsea have interest in Lewandowski after reports of him being unsettled at Munich. could this have an impact on the Lukaku deal? Surely they wouldn't want to be paying mega money for both of them?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - thats right deano and the way i look at it man utd and chelsea will get either lukaku or lewandoski, but i would imagine that aubameyang would also come in to that equation mate..

21 Jun 2017 12:03:54
Nice one Ed, not too fussed where he goes as long as we get the right price!

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Jun 2017 13:14:45
As long we as get rid will do me I never want to see him in a Everton jersey ever again the disrespect he has shown our club has been disgraceful and our fans just get rid of him every week he is still here is another week we are paying his wages couldn't care if we sold him for 50 mill just get rid.

Agree4 Disagree2

21 Jun 2017 12:57:36
There have only ever been 2 options for Lukaku, Man Utd and B Munich. Who his Agent has been talking to I don't know but it seems Chelsea were never in the running. But, who will pay £100 Mn for him?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2017 18:26:45
No one will pay 100 million for him, so he may end up staying if the club are going to stick to their guns on it. If we don't need to sell then there's no panic. It does seem though that we are on the look out for replacements as a precaution of course.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2017 21:59:27
How about a straight swap for Lewandowski, one can only dream.

21 Jun 2017 22:32:35
Stef the blue I echo those comments. Close the door on the way out Rom and grab Ross' coat for him too as he will need it when he is frozen out of the Spurs side.

Quick question for the eds, who are the current players that we are targeting? I have heard that we are looking at Will Hughes any truth in this at all, he looked amazing a few years ago but seems to have dropped off. Also seen an update that Dortmund have come in for Sandro, fairly certain he would go there as they can offer Champions league football even if the wages would be lower.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - hughes was a target a while back BT but there is no link to him at the moment, i still think we are in a good place with sandro mate but we are also looking at dolberg and dembele..

21 Jun 2017 11:48:46
Hi ed, is Dolberg and Dembele backup options if we don't sign Sandro?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not as i see it BT, losing kone as well as lukaku means we need at least 2 new strikers mate..

21 Jun 2017 11:53:50
We take all three please.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - amen to that dick..

21 Jun 2017 12:58:51
Personally, I would swerve Dolberg, he is too slow. Skilful yes, but we need pace up top and throughout the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2017 14:00:22
Clearly not watched him enough then. He has pace, especially given his size.

We need strikers to cover all aspects of play. So will need more than one.

There are limitations to the games of most of the strikers we will be linked with, as the strikers who tick all the boxes are out of our reach or at a champions league side.

Dolberg and Sandro are more than adequate signings and with a combined age of 40, lots of room for progressio.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2017 14:41:22
Don't remember Lineker being quick, or shearer being like a bullet out of a gun or even Sheringham managing to beat a tortoise in a sprint, but they scored goals because they knew where to be and when. Dolberg obviously knows where to be and remember he already has an understanding with Klaasen. If Sandro signs I'm sure he would be buzzing around the whole front line, opening up spaces, dragging defenders out of position, so Klassen and others would get in the box. Dolberg could greatly benefit from that.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2017 15:06:42
Been plenty of slow strikers who have been top class. If he has clever movement, can hold the ball up too bring the pacy players in and knows where the goal is, I'd be happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2017 16:18:02
Lineker was lightening quick but we won our two league titles without his pace, there is more to leading the line than pace.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2017 18:26:08
Dolberg, Sandro and Dembele? Effing dream team that like. Those three in with the big lump out. Christmas would have come VERY early! If only eh?
