I have said it before and I will say it again. Luke Shaw at Southampton is a great future England left back. In many ways similar to Baines. I had heard through my sources that Shaw would be going to Manchester United or Chelsea in a couple of years, but saw in the press today that Moyes is after him now. To me that means one of a few things:
1. Baines is off and we are tracking Shaw as replacement.
2. Moyes has given up on Baines and is now after Shaw.
3. Moyes is trying to do the Scottish canny thing and make us think he wants either Shaw or Baines and so keep Baine's price tag down.
All in all, nobody Knows what will pan out, but I am sure these two players will feature heavily in January. Mark my words.

Duuuh. Shaw rumour is 25 mill, Kenwright will sell Baines for 15 mill. Moyes playing his usual stingy games. Kenwright needs his cojones to kick in for a 20 mill hold out.

Agree0 Disagree0

The kid worth 25 mill so give it a miss

Agree1 Disagree0

Degsy you can bet your bottom dollar RM will have a replacement lined up.
probably someone we don't even know.
Shaw would be too expensive mate.

I would rather we develop our own Garbutt is out on loan now Colchester I think would like to see him progress.

The original post is a very we'll thought out piece.

I think there needs to be some clarity here Utd very rarely pay top money for a player of Baines age Rvp is a obvious exception. One of Moyes best attributes is indentifiying top young talent. (Doesn't always give them a chance mind) and they do need a lb as an immediate fix there for the younger prospect would be the better investment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bloody hell we've only played 4 games and we are selling already let's enjoy the football it going to be a boss season player won't want to leave and the club don't have to sell

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines 2 goals today put another 5 million on ANY transfer fee required to take him to either Manchester United or Chelski

Jose Mourinhio during his pre match press conference:
"Lukaku cannot be recalled in January"

That puts that one to sleep then, he is here for the full season end of

That's about the first time you've posted something on this site that's been true. are you feeling well?

The only way baines will stay is if we can challenge for top 4 if were in the mix for it come january he may stay but if were mid table or there abouts he will be gone

Believable2 Unbelievable11

And you think United will be in top 4 in January?. hard to say at the moment who will be there .

Agree0 Disagree0

If Baines wants to go then let him, any player that doesn't want to play for us is not worth keeping.

I see we have all been sucked into the press's game of unsettling the player whislt he is negotiating a new contract, if Stubbs has said that the he should by given a formal warning about the releasing comments that are harmfull for to the club as he was going during a search for a new manager.

Ed I've just read what Stubbsy was meant to say on the Mirror website regarding Baines wanting a move, they are also quoting that it was the who had the original story.

I can't see Stubbsy coming out with that statement because he knows it would piss off all Blues badly, no way would he say Baines wanted to leave, the club would kick his ass too if he did

I think its just lazy journalism again and they have twisted his story around, he needs to make a statement on the club site about this too soon either way {Ed025's Note - you could well be right degs..

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Baines did want to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

I read the article and it is total tosh. There are no quotes stating Baines wanted to leave, just quotes on the club digging their heals in.

This isn't lazy journalism, this is blatant fantasy.

Those 2 rags are shocking. There are 2 people who must be very angry with this lie. Stubbsy and Baines

Utter Rubbish from 2 rags that clearly don't rate us.

The Daily Manc stirring the shxt again. Absolutely no way Stubbs would ever come out with such drivel. The man has far too much integrity to speak about Baines and the club like this in the press. Cave man journalism, Murdoch style. And the Metro? The Beano that you get for nothing on the bus, would'nt wipe my arse with it.(Wavertree Blue).

Agree0 Disagree0

Thousands in Liverpool hate them . for writing a load of CRAP like this .

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree. Sadly some fans actually believe what these so called journalist write

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know if this is were its from but did anyone see the soccer am a few weeks ago with stubbsy on? When asked about Baines and fellaini he just laughed and said "if they pay enough", could be recycled from this once they thought people has forgotten about it?

Agree0 Disagree0

He's obviously said it, or uttered words to that effect, or these journos would be subject to a libel action if it were untrue. Very naive to believe otherwise and very naive of Stubbs to say such a thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

If big if Man U are below everton and van the man wants to leave.and everton are in top four why would you want to go and play for the ginger one no one should want to leave are great club with are great team and great manager

Last poster. you are very naive if you believe journos don't lie

degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm going to start reading the Daily Manc and the Metro Beano everyday and believe everything that they say.because I'd be naive not to. (Wavertree Blue)

Stubbs should be disciplined by the club, it's not the first time he's done stuff like this, he advised Rooney on going to Utd he did not conduct himself we'll when he went to Sunderland on a free, making comments about Everton inserting a cancer clause in his contract.

Let's be clear on Baines Stubbs has stupidly gave the press ammunition to try and put a wedge between Baines and the fans.

As it's been said all along Baines would not ask for a move although if an deal was agreed between the clubs then he would be interested if not he fully committed to Everton. Utd are champions and in Europe so I can't blame home being interested but this lad knows how to do business properly and respectfully. But for god sake let's get him signed to a new contract.

And Stubbs sort your head out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did I say 'journos don't lie'? No I said you'd be very naive to believe he's not said anything resembling what he's quoted as saying.
I know journos lie and make stuff up to sell papers and fill column inches but to believe Stubbs hasn't said a word IS naive.

After listening to rms comments regarding baines contract, Stubbs saying baines wanted to go to utd and throw in the fact that garbutt has gone out on loan, I think we will be losing baines in January! Oviedo will be the obvious replacement he just needs some game time and he will be just as affective as baines and garbutt will be his backup and no doubt another lb will be bought in for cover! Or something along those lines! But I do definately think baines is going! Will be gutted but if he wants to go and we get a good price then so be it! What do you think ed? {Ed025's Note - i think he may leave as well si, but like always players come and go, hes a great player, and will be sorely missed, but the club will always be the most important constant mate..

Believable3 Unbelievable5

The thing with Baines is that I would not begrudge him a move as he's been our best player for a number of years but feel he should wait till the summer have one crack with RM and that way Evra will be gone (otherwise Evra will kick up his normal fuss!). I know it's World Cup coming but his plane ticket is all but booked (if we get there)!

Think Luke Shaw of Southampton is on United's radar NOW . better long term value than Baines

Hi ed it, s been about 2 months now since everton have been talking about a new contract for Baines. Why dose it take so long for a player to sign one. He either dose or he dose, nt . And reports now saying united are going to offer Anderson plus money for Baines . If he dose go we should ask for 20million and forget Anderson as we have enough midfielders and don, t need him . If Anderson is, nt good enough for united he's not good enough for us. {Ed025's Note - im not sure where we are with bainsey vinny, but have been informed he may go in january, i would love him to sign a new contract though, so we will have to wait and see mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Apparently we knocked back £15 mill. I don't blame him for wanting champs league and being no 3 for England in world cup year. No man is bigger than the club. Take £18 mill and offer Chelsea the money for lukaku and be aggressive. Let's get a young vibrant team

Albo

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not offering him a new contract as quoted by Roberto, so that says to me he is going. As much as I love him let's get the best deal we can and after all he is 29. There are some good right backs out there, not in the prem so much as in Europe, so we have hope, and no doubt will bank a few bob.

Agree0 Disagree0

How do u know he's not going to sign a new contract, abit of lazy journalism, and everyone says he's leavin, sure he might have been interested with utd, but he had 3 months to make that move .as for his contract the window has been closed three weeks let's make a conclusion by the end of November .martinez has hinted that a bumber contract would be offered, so surely there must be some encouragement by Baines that he is still happy at everton.just stories getting re written with a different twist
