I was told about this last week by one of the ground staff stef. He said there were strong rumours around the place they had reached a deal but I've heared nothing since mate.

.it's a loan deal I've heard.he has a 35 million euro release clause in his contract, but then so did Del Boy a couple of seasons ago. would be good if we could pull it off!

Despite how many central midfielders we already have I would still love for this to go through. Another player brought up through the Barcelona academy, and who was deemed good enough to make first team appearances for them. Hopefully he could reach his full potential here.

Heard from a mate who is a hammers fan that they are very keen on Super Kev to replace Downing, but if they can't get him then 2nd choice is Aaron Lennon. Either way, if true either outcome is a pain in the @r$3 for us! Any idea on possible targets / replacements if Mirralas or even McCarthy decide to move on Ed?

Heard the latest Chelsea to make 2nd bid for stones of 26 mill plus victor Moses who was on loan @ Lpool & Stoke past 2 seasons.
Also 2 ex united players linked wes brown & Jon O'Shea & with Martinez also interested in Evans we'll soon be named united reserves

Hope Martinez doesn't suddenly get excited about Moses, if that is the case. He'd love to put his Wigan band back together! As for the others, Wes Brown is a clumsy card magnet, O'Shea is marginally better, but not inspiring at all and as for Evans, we'd be better off signing a tree stump with a face painted on it.

Reckon Stones may stay based on the fact he will have good competition for places at Chelski in Terry, Cahill and Zouma. The lad will have one eye on next summers Euro's. By which time he will of gained more suitors. This one ain't just a about money.

Can't see Moses taking us to the promised land and would be absolutely amazed if even Martinez was looking at Brown or O'Shea.

A friend of mine who knows 1 or 2 of the hierarchy has informed me this morning that Stones is staying & that he will definitely not be sold at any price - apparently the lad is very happy to stay at the club too! This was such a relief to hear this as I really thought he was going last week & I just hope that Jose now understands that he doesn't always get his own way on everything!

Does anyone know what's happening with the Lennon deal, or know any deals that could possibly happen.?it is a worrying time ahead if we don't bring anyone in to strengthen the team.will he just think the younger lads will be enough?.

Finally a name to get excited about. We are supposedly in for Boro CB Gibson.
Watched a few of his games for boro and in the U21 and he looks really good. Would be great to have the England central pairing for the for the 2022 WC on the books.
Would be great competition for Jags as he is getting older and will push on browning as well.

Hmmm. one for the future maybe, but I'm not sure that 'excited' covers it SydneyMAC.
All the teams around us are strengthening.
We finished 11th last term.
Our top talents are all subject to bids from other clubs.
We need a few bigger and better signings then Gibson - although I'd welcome him from what I've seen.

Agree with JBlue. Saw a couple of his games and wasn't all that impressed, especially considering he's 22. He looked like he may one day be okay, but to be 22 and struggling at an u21 tournament doesn't bode well for me, and he's definitely not what we need to drag us back into Europe.
