I'd take Van de Vart and Peanuts in exchange for Roddys no problem if straight swap and no cash. Great business {Ed025's Note - lets be honest .. thats not going to happen..
Agree1

Who are these blinkered people who rate Rodwell. Should have sold him 18 months ago to man u when they were interested in him
Agree0
Disagree0
Rodwell is a lot better than Pienaar. Even a blind man could see that.
Agree0
Disagree0
Complete rubbish post, I reckon we could be struggling to come up with the supposedly 5m pound fee or cant agree terms with Pienaar's people as for the delay. Deal has nothing to do with waiting on another player to be part of the deal involving Rodwell and Rodwell better than Pienaar thats another joke yeah! He may have the potential to be better than Pienaar but right now he has a long way to go. How long more to we wait and say Rodwell has great potential, Think I am right in saying that potential is taking to long to turn up. Last chance this season Rodders. Come on Rodders show us its ur time to shine. COYB.
Agree0
Disagree0
Rodwell aint going why dont people just stop putting false messages on here makes me sick, what will be will be and half of the stuff on here is lies, we have no money we have to sell players to lower the wage for the players to come in, ie yobo for pienaar, were not a big money club like man city so why are people linking us to players they can buy, just wait till the end of the window and see what we got and who we lose !
Agree1
Disagree0
Moyes has a plan for moving forward.
I dont understand these people who want rid of Rodwell the lad is clearly developing into a star of English football this is why UTD, Chelsea, Spurs and the Gunners would have him in a heartbeat. True he had his set backs but the lad has cost us nothing and is a Local lad coming good, yet people would have him sold for 15 mill which is half of what he will be worth to bring in inferior players.
Rodwell looks clss everytime he play and people still try to scape goat him, frankley there welcome to their opinion but know nothing about football.
Agree0

Only a blind man might say Rodwell is better than Pienaar.

Yet more negative tripe from the Echo, the same paper that keeps getting asked to leave press confrences and banned numours times. Can people please treat these wind up and doom and gloom merchants with the utter contempt they deserve. Pienaar will be with us next season regardless of other deals, the worst case senario is that we have to wait for teh sponsership and RECORD TV money this year to come through which will be there in august. "Free agents can be signed by a club at any time in the season, if they had been released by their previous club before the end of the transfer window" so Donovan can't be signed in November as he will not have been released before the window shuts and he certainly couldn't be purchased outside the transfer window.

EFC simply do not have the money favailable to buy Crouch or such a deal. The Pinear deal cannot take place until Yobo is sold.Quite simply we have to sell before we can buy

Agree1

They cant afford him. If they wanted to show the fans they were serious they wouldn't be selling RVP or have sold adebayor, ashley cole, viera, nasri, Fabregas, toure, clichy, henry and many more. They only replaced fabregas with arteta who lets face it, was well past his best when he made the move. Dont get me wrong i loved arteta but to be honest he played his best football when we were in europe, pienaar is better than him now.
Agree1

Fellaini wouldn't fit into Arsenals team.
Agree1

I hope not he is one of my favourite players.Arsenal are only in the market for players worth 20 million or less and could not afford him. Lets face it he is young, talented and ambitous, but as only just signed a new four year deal. Moyes will expect him to honour at least one more season.
Agree1

Lol cant afford him, we could buy your whole squad. check out the 10 richest sports clubs in the world.
Agree0

There is no way we would even talk to them unless a bid was over the £20m+ mark, and Wenger does not pay that sort of money for people, i have just spoken to a very well connected family friend who is a huge gooner and knows many of the staff and players on first name terms and he laughed when i suggested this saying there is no way Wenger would pay the money for Felli because Chelski ad Madrid have expressed interest previously, and Arsenal just can't compete with them

For the previous poster who said about pre-season and fitness: We've only just started the schedule, and the first few matches, because we do have 8 matches, are about just giving reserve players a run out whilst still keeping first team players fit with matches. The match vs. Motherwell will be the same as it was against Morecambe and tonight. Then I'd imagine on the Indonesia tour we will start to really put the full squad out. In Indonesia, the likes of Jela, Naismith if fit, Johnny, Bainesy, etc, will all start.
And on the latest transfer thoughts:
I think that Pienaar will come, however after believing we had money at the start of the window, I'm starting to think that we don't now. And all the uncertainty about Naismith is getting over top. I mean look at the facts of Rangers. To put it simple, Naismith had a contract with Glasgow Rangers Football Club Ltd. The said company no longer exist now, so Naismith thus has no contract. It's like working at Pizza Hut, who then go bust and you're made redundant. Simples.
And finally, get off Kenwright's back. We might not have billions to splash on Messi, etc, but there is no way on this planet that Kenwright would see us go into major money problems - thus making us a Rangers or Portsmouth. Simple question: Do you want millions to spend on players for the next four years, owned by an Asian oil guy, who then pulls his money out of the club after four years and we go into liquidation, etc, or would you rather Everton stay as a club for as long as this planet lasts which stay as we are (great manager and a chairman who cares, along with the 1-0 loss to a League One team in the League Cup on Wednesday then the goal filled win over Man Utd on the Saturday?
Just be grateful for what we have - which Rangers and Portsmouth at this moment in time don't have.
Rant over.

Add in Leeds UTD, Venkys, LFC's parade of yank dimwits inc Henry, Cardiffs badge and kit change, Villas mediocrity. There's been 2 good buyouts. Chelsea and City. I'm sure the chances are very good that future foreign ownership will truly give Blue Union a chance to properly vent their spleen using all the practice they've gained picking on Bill who's only crime as far as I'm concerned has been to not be mega rich.

He has made us go into millions of debt though (about 50 million), sold all of our assets, and as a result has made us unsalable. he has also sold of the next few years worth of season tickets. Dont get me wrong im not anti BK as a person, but as a chairman he has ruined us!

Agree0

We're Everton - not Portsmouth - and we should be contenders - kenwright and his chums must be able to see that we're now just two or three 5-6m players away from having a cracking side - yet they'll sit there not putting any money in at all - and we'll stay 7-9th and eventually we'll lose Moyes - who with about 10m quid more could have turned us probably into a champs league team - all for the sake of a missing 10m which Kenwright and his pals could afford - that's why we're frustrated at them - at the end of the day Kenwright as far as I know has not stuck a penny into the club without it being a repayable loan - so he's paid nothing in - and he's chairman - meanwhile he's sitting on a profit of about 100million on his investment - cos he bought for 30m and the club is now worth about 130-150 mil - so he's made 100mil and he's not prepared to put in 10m now which could really see us contending for a champs league spot - he shouldn't be chairman if he can't afford to spend a few mill that he has got - otherwise we might as well have dave the bin man in charge as he'd have as much money to put in as Bill
Agree1
Disagree1
Have to agree with you Keith, people should get off Blue Bills back. Everyone seem to forget the mess he inherited, the fact we now have a team that challenges for Europe on a regular basis as oppose to a team of over paid has beens just avoiding relegation. And most important, if and when a take over happens it will be by someone who actually has money to take the club forward and not one of the many all talk persons that have driven so many clubs to the edge of disaster.

The thing that get all blue noses going is the clear lack of ambition from our board. Under Kenwrights reign we have seen the potential grow to where we should of been 20 years ago but for 'history'
now in the last few seasons when we have been so so close we see how inept the board really are, throwing the derby game....Each season we have a main target...N'zogbia was last seasons but we never came close to getting him, i can see the same happening with Pienaar unless we sell a top player....We are the laughing stock and charity cases and it sucks, kenwright is a liar simple as on par with Ashley, Bates, Elis And Johnson
Agree1
Disagree0
What a load of DROSS Keith! Let's look at the simple Mathematics. Kenwright bought Everton for £30m £25m of which, he borrowed. £15m from the bank and the rest from HIS DODGY MATES!
Since then he's took all of our assets and blew them! WE OWNED FINCH FARM AND NOW RENT IT!
WE OWNED THE EVERTON ONE SHOP AND NOW RENT IT
WE OWNED BELLEFIELD AND SOLD IT TO STAVE OFF LIQUIDATION FROM OUR CREDITORS. Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining. I'm NOT grateful for Kenwright and his cronies. Paid £5m for his Club and wants £150m for it!! He's no friend of mine NOR is he a friend of Everton.
The Blue Prophet!!!

Kenwright has sucked the life out the club and if people cant wake up and see that either Felli and or Baines are sold last minute in the transfer window to satisfy the bank they need their heads tested. there are 35,000 true Blues out there who like Kenwright havent the proverbial pot. {Ed025's Note - well aren,t you a bundle of joy!..

JUST SPEAKING THE TRUTH ED ALL YOU KENWRIGHT APOLOGISTS NEED TO TAKE A GOOD HARD LOOK AT WHERE THIS CLUB IS GOING, PERENNIAL OVER ACHIEVERS WHOSE PRIMARY GOAL UNDER MOYES IS 40 POINTS EVERY SEASON, ANYTHING ELSE IS A BONUS {Ed025's Note - that is far from the truth mate!...we have a very good team, and an above average squad, do we have loads of dosh..NO!..do we have great team spirit, and brilliant support....YES!..there is more to the game than how big a name you can afford, just look over the park!...why dont we all stop bitching about what we have,nt got, and concentrate on the good things, investment will come!, and we will get our time in the limelight, until then, just be happy to be a blue, its the best feeling in the world..

I'm with you there Ed. Be positive. LFC have lead the premiership in wasting massive amounts of money on talentless bellends (carroll, Aquilani etal). Rather than human rights abusing arabs buying us out, or cockney pornographers, or Indian Chicken farmers, or yank poly sport purchasers,, I'm hoping for the financial rug to get pulled from under footies bloated fat corpse. Hopefully the death of Rangers and Pompeys perenial near death will be followed by another high profile casualty causing footy to truly rethink its rules and approach. Wage caps? a draft system? who knows. But somethings gotta change and it might just level the playing field.
